The carefree life of Yang Shuisheng, the village miracle doctor
Chapter 247 Can you stay and keep Auntie company?
Zhao Youcai looked at his wrist, which had been pinched red, and then at Yang Shuisheng, his face turning pale and then red.
He certainly didn't want to air his dirty laundry in public, especially in front of Yang Shuisheng, a kid he didn't like.
He snorted, shook his hand, and said irritably, "Hmph! This is my family's business, mind your own business."
After saying that, he ignored Zhou Caifeng, his face ashen, turned around and stomped downstairs, slamming the door behind him.
Zhou Caifeng, not wanting Yang Shuisheng to see her too shrewish and disheveled due to his sudden appearance, quickly turned her back and pretended to clean up the mess on the ground. However, her slightly trembling shoulders betrayed her turbulent inner state.
Yang Shuisheng stood by the window and watched Zhao Youcai storm out of the courtyard and disappear into the alley before turning around.
Seeing Zhou Caifeng still wiping away tears with her head down, her shoulders trembling slightly, she asked knowingly, "Aunt Feng, what happened? Why did it turn out like this?"
"What else could it be?"
He should have asked, because once he did, Zhou Caifeng's suppressed emotions seemed to find an outlet. Tears streamed down her face even more fiercely, and with a sob and aggrieved tone, she cried out, "It's all because of that heartless Zhao Youcai! I caught him cheating on me, but he wouldn't admit it."
"Shuisheng, tell me, how can we possibly live like this?"
"Stealing someone's life?"
Yang Shuisheng feigned surprise: "Aunt Feng, how can you be so sure? Could it be a misunderstanding?"
"Misunderstanding?" Zhou Caifeng raised her head, her face still streaked with tears, her expression a mixture of anger and certainty. "I saw with my own eyes a lipstick mark on his neck. When I asked him what happened, he insisted it was a mosquito bite."
"Have you ever seen a mosquito bite leave a mark like that? Does he think I'm a three-year-old?"
"The worst part is that he still denies it even after being caught. I can't live like this anymore."
She became increasingly angry as she spoke, and her voice rose even higher.
Yang Shuisheng quickly stepped forward and lowered his voice to soothe her, "Aunt Feng, don't get agitated, calm down."
He paused, then said meaningfully in a detached, observer's tone, "But then again, Aunt Feng, you keep saying Village Chief Zhao is messing around outside, but aren't you... pretty much the same?"
Upon hearing this, Zhou Caifeng stopped crying abruptly, paused for a moment, and then realized the meaning behind Yang Shuisheng's words. A hint of unease and guilt flashed across her face as she thought about the ambiguous relationship between herself and Yang Shuisheng.
"That...that's different!"
Her sobs gradually subsided, but her tone still carried aggrieved and defensive tone: "That old bastard Zhao Youcai, he's been having affairs with who knows how many women outside."
"Although I don't have concrete evidence, I know very well in my heart that he thought he had done something flawless, but I actually know everything."
"Aunt Feng, since you already know the truth, you shouldn't argue with him."
Following her lead, Yang Shuisheng offered her advice: "What's the use of arguing? He'll still steal."
"In my opinion, you should just turn a blind eye and pretend you didn't see it."
"Don't let him touch you anymore. Doesn't he have someone else outside? Let him go find those people and stop harming you."
"Taking good care of your health is more important than anything else."
After listening to Yang Shuisheng's words, Zhou Caifeng thought about them carefully and felt that they made sense.
Arguing with Zhao Youcai will only make you angry and shed a few tears; it won't change anything at all.
It would be better to do as Yang Shuisheng suggested and not let him touch her, thus cutting off that path completely, which would also be a form of revenge.
The grievances and anger in her heart immediately lessened considerably, and she breathed a long sigh of relief.
Once she calmed down, she suddenly remembered something, looked up at Yang Shuisheng with some confusion, and asked, "By the way, Shuisheng, why are you here at my house at this hour?"
"Oh, I originally wanted to buy something from your convenience store."
Yang Shuisheng lied without batting an eye: "I heard you arguing as soon as I got downstairs, so I was too embarrassed to come in directly and just stood downstairs for a while."
"Later, I heard some noise and was afraid something had happened, so I rushed up to check."
Zhou Caifeng listened without suspecting anything, and simply said "Oh" softly.
Her emotions had calmed down considerably. Looking at Yang Shuisheng, a young and strong man who had just given her a good idea, the grievance and emptiness she felt because of Zhao Youcai seemed to have found a way to fill the void.
She took two steps forward, getting closer to Yang Shuisheng. Her soft body pressed against his arm almost imperceptibly. She tilted her head slightly, her eyes still a little red, with a pitiful expression, and whispered, "Shuisheng, you...you won't abandon your aunt, will you?"
"Aunt Feng, what do you mean by that?"
Yang Shuisheng was startled by her sudden act of intimacy, his body stiffening slightly, but he still managed to feign composure and ask, "How could I possibly abandon you?"
Zhou Caifeng bit her lip, her eyes filled with confusion and uncertainty about the future, and said, "I mean, if... if I really do divorce that old bastard Zhao Youcai in the future, you won't despise me, will you?"
Upon hearing this, Yang Shuisheng's heart skipped a beat, and a thought flashed through his mind.
Could it be that she wants to marry me?
That won't work!
He quickly asked tentatively, "Aunt Feng, when you say you dislike me, you don't mean you want me to be with you...?"
He didn't finish his sentence, but the meaning was already very clear.
"How could that be!"
Zhou Caifeng shook her head, a bitter smile on her face, conveying a clear-headed self-awareness: "Auntie knows her own limitations. I'm so much older than you, how could I be a burden to you?"
"Marriage is definitely out of the question."
"Auntie just hopes... hopes that when the time comes, you won't look down on me because I'm a divorced woman, and that you'll still be willing to have some contact with me like we do now."
When she said the words "had some contact," her voice lowered even further, carrying a hint of ambiguity.
Upon hearing this, Yang Shuisheng felt a huge weight lifted from his heart and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
As long as it's not about marrying him, then everything is negotiable.
"Aunt Feng, what are you saying!"
He quickly patted his chest and assured them, "Do you think I, Yang Shuisheng, am that kind of person?"
"Don't worry, no matter what, I will never look down on you."
Zhou Caifeng received his affirmative answer, and a smile finally appeared on her face as she nodded happily.
"Wait for me a moment."
As she spoke, she turned and went into the inner room.
A moment later, the curtain to the inner room was lifted, and Zhou Caifeng came out again.
Yang Shuisheng looked up and was immediately struck by a bright light, his eyes widening in surprise.
Zhou Caifeng changed out of her rumpled casual clothes and into a tight-fitting white T-shirt that perfectly outlined her voluptuous and mature upper body curves. Her chest was so full that it looked as if it was about to burst out of the T-shirt.
She wore black stockings that covered her shapely, long legs, and slippers that revealed her toes painted with red nail polish.
She also combed her hair simply, making her look several years younger and exuding a unique charm and allure of a mature woman.
Seeing Yang Shuisheng's somewhat dazed gaze, Zhou Caifeng felt a surge of smugness, yet her face held a hint of sadness. She walked up to Yang Shuisheng and, in a tone that was both alluring and inviting, softly said, "Shuisheng... Auntie is still very sad. Could you stay and keep Auntie company?"
