My Dongguan Love Story

Chapter 115 The Light Bulb is Faulty

When Secretary Su's eyes met mine, her face suddenly flushed red, and she quickly hid in the bathroom, hurriedly closing the door behind her.

Seeing her blushing face and her flustered retreat, I couldn't help but chuckle as my eyes curved slightly.

Honestly, I really didn't mean to peek at her. I was just fiddling with an old light bulb I had taken apart when she suddenly stepped out of the room. I was standing a little higher up, so my gaze naturally fell on her.

Although it was quite dark, I grew up in the countryside and have walked around at night a lot, so I can see very clearly even in the dark.

I don't know if Secretary Su wasn't worried because there were no lights, or if she was just used to living alone and forgot there was a grown man like me in the living room.

As I was thinking, I heard the sound of a shower coming from the bathroom. The water from the showerhead splashed onto her body, drawing a faint outline at the bathroom doorway.

I swallowed hard, not daring to watch any further.

I slowly descended the ladder, retrieved the new light bulb, climbed back up, and carefully screwed it into the socket. After landing, I reached out and pressed the switch, only to find the room still dark, the bulb completely unlit, which puzzled me.

Could it be that the main switch for the secret passage is not turned on?

I went over to check the main switch and saw that it was on. The main switch was fine, and the power was on. So it seemed the problem was with the new light bulb.

I went up the ladder and tried two more, but they still wouldn't light up.

Having determined that it was a problem with the light bulb, I went to the bathroom door and knocked.

The sound of the shower water inside stopped abruptly, followed by Secretary Su's soft, sweet voice:

"Dazhuang, what's wrong?"

"Secretary Su, the light bulbs you bought seem to be faulty; they still don't light up even after I replaced them."

"Huh? What should we do then?"

"Okay, I'll go downstairs and buy a new one to replace it. Wait for me a moment."

Secretary Su became anxious upon hearing my words. She quickly stopped me, saying, "Dazhuang, don't go yet."

To avoid me misunderstanding, she added, "I'm a little scared to be alone. Can we talk about it after I've finished showering?"

"All right."

After I finished speaking, I walked over and sat down on the sofa. I was secretly puzzled. She usually lives alone and isn't afraid of the dark. But today, with me here, she's suddenly afraid of the dark. That's quite strange.

However, I've already come all this way to help, so I don't mind waiting a few more minutes.

After a while, the bathroom door slowly opened, and Secretary Su, wearing a white lace camisole and a knee-length mini skirt, tiptoed out.

Her feet were still dripping wet, leaving a puddle of water wherever she went.

Secretary Su walked up to me, looked at the light bulbs in the box with a puzzled expression, and asked, "Dazhuang, have you tried all of these and still no luck?"

"Yes, they're all problematic. I guess you've been scammed." I nodded, looking at Secretary Su's flushed cheeks, fair neck, and the glimpse of her skin beneath her halter top, and couldn't help but swallow hard.

Secretary Su was already stunningly beautiful, and now, with the added embellishment of the night, she looked even more beautiful.

Moreover, as the breeze caressed her, a fragrance would occasionally waft over.

It makes one want to get close to her and smell her fair, fragrant body.

Secretary Su noticed me swallow hard, my eyes widening slightly. Knowing she had captivated me, she lowered her head and smiled.

She's beautiful and usually has many suitors. She's confident she'd offer herself, and Dazhuang probably wouldn't refuse. What they lack is an opportunity to be alone together.

Therefore, she specifically had the broken light bulb replaced. Even the light bulb in the cardboard box was unusable. It was all to create this dark and ambiguous atmosphere.

How could we possibly send Dazhuang down to buy light bulbs now? What if he runs away? Wouldn't all our efforts be wasted? Even if he doesn't run away, but manages to change the light bulbs, where would the ambiguous atmosphere be in the brightly lit room?

Thinking of this, Secretary Su looked at me with a smile and said softly, "Dazhuang, there's no rush to go out and buy it. You must be starving after working all day. Let me make you a bowl of instant noodles to tide you over."

She was thinking to herself, "I need to keep you calm and not let you leave my side for even a moment." Her eyes held a subtle, unreadable thought.

After working for quite a while, it was past seven o'clock and everyone should be hungry. They suggested we eat something first, so that I could stay and they could then find a way to seduce me.

When I heard her words, my stomach started growling uncontrollably.

I've been busy all day, and I'm definitely a bit hungry. I checked my phone; it's only a little past seven, still early. I'll have a bowl of instant noodles to tide me over, then go downstairs to buy a light bulb. I should be done by eight by then. It won't be too late to go to Sister Lin's house.

After a while, Secretary Su brought out a bowl of instant noodles, walked to my side, and bent down to place it on my desk. As she bent down, her neckline opened wide, and I couldn't help but glance at it.

Her ample cleavage caught my eye, making my heart skip a beat. I felt it was inappropriate to peek like that, and wanted to look away, but I couldn't bear to.

Secretary Su noticed me peeking at her, a smile playing on her lips as she sat down next to me with another bowl of instant noodles. "Dazhuang, what are you looking at? Eat it while it's hot."

"Huh? Oh, okay." I snapped out of my daze and started eating my instant noodles a little embarrassed.

Fortunately, the darkness concealed my embarrassment.

It was a dark night, and we were having a candlelit dinner while eating instant noodles. It felt strange.

After a while, I finished eating and wanted to clear the dishes, but Secretary Su saw me and quickly waved her hand, saying, "Dazhuang, I'll clear them. You sit down."

"Oh? Okay." I didn't think much of it and sat back down.

Secretary Su bent down, picked up the bowl and chopsticks in front of me, and suddenly twisted her ankle, her hand trembled, and the soup in the bowl splashed all over me. It soaked my pants, and a warm feeling spread to my abdomen.

Seeing this, Secretary Su looked flustered and quickly grabbed a tissue from the table to wipe the soup that had spilled on my leg.

After wiping for a while, I quickly stopped her. Her pants were covered in soup, and wiping wouldn't help. I stood up and said to her, "I'll go to the bathroom and wash myself!"

My pants and underwear were soaked through with soup, so I reluctantly headed to the bathroom.

Shaking his head as he walked, he thought, "What bad luck! How did I end up getting all wet while eating instant noodles?"

Secretary Su watched my retreating figure as I walked into the bathroom, and a slight smile appeared on her lips.

Listening to the sound of the shower water, after a while, she picked up a towel, walked to the bathroom door, gently turned the doorknob, peeked in, and held out the towel with her left hand: "Dazhuang, do you need a towel?"

I was taking a shower completely naked when I felt a gust of wind behind me. I turned around and saw Secretary Su handing me a towel. I quickly covered the parts of my body that I didn't want her to see.
