My Dongguan Love Story

Chapter 121 Exposing Secretary Su

A sudden gust of wind swept in from behind, and I felt a chill on the back of my neck, which instantly spread throughout my body.

Having practiced martial arts for many years, my master has repeatedly warned me: the strongest enemy is never in front of you, but behind you.

When facing someone, one can be brave, defensive, and fight in front of others, and if one is not defeated in the open, one is most likely to be defeated in the shadows or behind one's back.

So I always kept a backup plan, always keeping the weight of the stool I wielded in moderation, controlling the force with ease, so that I could suddenly turn around and go back at any moment.

The moment I sensed something amiss behind me, I whirled around and swept the bench in my hand, sending it spinning violently backward with a whoosh.

Bang~

The stool first struck Wu Hao's cleaver, the immense force numbing his hand and causing a sharp pain that sent the cleaver flying backward. Then, the stool slammed directly into his face.

Although his longsword barely managed to block some of the force, the strong wind carried by the bench still slammed into his face.

His facial muscles trembled violently, his mouth instantly split open and bled, and he flew backward like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily to the ground like a dead dog, howling in pain as he curled up into a ball.

I didn't reduce my strength and continued spinning, swinging the stool forward and knocking down two more people.

After several rounds, not a single one of the Hunan gang members still standing in the living room was left holding a machete. They were all lying on the ground, wailing and howling in pain.

I gripped the bench, slightly out of breath, and looked coldly at the man with the buzz cut lying on the ground, saying in a deep voice:

"Is this how you settle old and new scores? What other tricks do you have up your sleeve? Show them to me."

The man with the buzz cut lay on the ground, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. When he looked up at me, his eyes held an undisguised fear, and his body trembled slightly.

He never expected that even though he brought more than a dozen brothers, each wielding a large machete, they couldn't hurt Da Zhuang at all, and instead knocked them all to the ground.

The fierce and menacing look on his face had vanished instantly; his change of expression was astonishing. He quickly sat up, looked at me with a fawning smile, and began to speak obsequiously:

"Brother Zhuang, I was wrong. Just pretend I farted and don't take it to heart."

At this point, he cautiously looked at me tentatively: "Brother Zhuang, how about we go back first?"

I looked at him with a cold smile: "Is this a place you can come and go as you please? Do you think this is your home?"

Wu Hao and the two Hunanese men rolled their eyes inwardly, thinking to themselves, "This really is our home."

Wu Hao and Su Qin shared a room, while the rest of them shared another room.

Even someone with a buzz cut sometimes gets drunk downstairs and comes up to stay overnight.

But he dared not tell the truth. Now that they were all in Da Zhuang's hands, they were no longer the arrogant people they once were. Hearing Da Zhuang's words, he could only force a smile and cautiously say, "Then, Brother Zhuang, please make a deal. How can you let us go?"

Hearing his words, I was struck by a sudden thought and remembered the three thousand dollars I spent at the nightclub last time. Back then, the crew-cut guys had scraped together one thousand three hundred dollars, and they still owed me one thousand seven hundred dollars.

I curled my lips into a smirk and said coldly, "Shouldn't you pay back the 1,700 you owe me last time?"

"Seventeen thousand?"

The man with the buzz cut was startled, his eyes wide with surprise, clearly not expecting that after so long, I would still be thinking about this money.

I sneered, my eyes suddenly turning cold: "What? Trying to renege on your debt?"

The man with the buzz cut gritted his teeth, wanting to say something, but seeing my fierce gaze, he could only swallow his words and smiled obsequiously, saying, "How dare I! How dare I!"

He turned around and said to his brothers lying on the ground:

"Brothers, let's chip in."

The others looked extremely unwilling upon hearing this, with a few even harboring resentment and anger in their eyes. But when I swept my cold gaze over them, their arrogance was instantly extinguished, and they immediately wilted, daring not to act recklessly in the slightest.

In the quiet living room, the sound of someone reaching into a pocket began to echo, followed by crumpled pieces of paper money being handed out.

I took them one by one, counted them, and found a total of over 1,800. Not bad, not bad. The extra amount can be considered interest!

I waved my hand, signaling that they could leave.

The man with the buzz cut breathed a sigh of relief, quickly stood up, and glared at me fiercely before turning to leave with his men.

I took in his look, and a surge of anger rose within me. I kicked out with all my might.

With a muffled thud, the man with the buzz cut was kicked so hard he fell face-first to the ground, flying three meters away before crashing to the ground. His lip was cut open, and blood gushed out instantly.

I coldly retorted, "If you still don't want to leave, let's practice some more!"

The man with the buzz cut scrambled to his feet in terror, not daring to look back, and staggered toward the door.

In no time, most of the Hunan gang members had fled, leaving only Wu Hao and three others. They had originally lived here, so they had been hesitant to leave. Seeing my glare, fearing they would suffer the same fate as the crew-cut guy, they decided to run first rather than stay and get beaten up for nothing.

After everyone had left, I turned to Secretary Su and said, "Secretary Su, I'll be going now."

As I finished speaking, I turned to leave. Seeing this, Secretary Su quickly stepped forward to block my way, gently took my hand, and softly said:

"Dazhuang, what am I going to do without you? What if they come back later...?"

Secretary Su's brows still held a hint of fear, her watery eyes were veiled in mist, and her delicate and pitiful appearance evoked pity in those who looked at her.

Looking at her soft, slightly aggrieved expression, my tense defenses almost crumbled. A sliver of reason tugged at my heartstrings, reminding me I couldn't be fooled again. Suppressing my wavering, I asked in a low voice, "Then what do you want to do?"

Secretary Su looked at me earnestly and said, "Could you stay and keep me company?"

"No." I shook my head repeatedly as I heard her words.

Even if I were stupid, I would know that what happened tonight is inextricably linked to Secretary Su. The fact that she insisted on stopping me and making me stay means she's probably up to something else.

Secondly, since the crew-cut group suffered a loss, there's no guarantee they won't turn around and gather more thugs to retaliate. If they surround me, even if I'm a great fighter, I'm afraid I won't be able to escape.

Although I knocked them all down in the fight just now, one man can't fight four men, and they even have pistols. Staying here and fighting them head-on won't do me any good.

Seeing me turn to leave, Secretary Su bit her lip, her eyes brimming with tears, and looked at me: "Dazhuang, if you really want to leave, please take me with you. Okay?"

Looking at her charming and innocent appearance, I suddenly laughed. Under Secretary Su's questioning gaze, my face darkened, and I said in an icy voice:

"Secretary Su, do you think I'm stupid?"

Secretary Su was taken aback by his words, her heart skipping a beat. She wondered if she had discovered something. She tentatively asked me, "Dazhuang, what did you say?"

I slowly walked towards her, my voice icy as I said:

"What did I say? Now that I think about it, how could everything that happened today be such a coincidence? You called me over to fix light bulbs, but all the new light bulbs you prepared were broken. And the Hunan gang just happened to be blocking this place."

She knew I had guessed everything, and hurriedly took a few steps back, her back slamming heavily against the wall, with nowhere left to retreat.

I pressed closer and closer until I was right in front of her, my warm breath brushing against her face, my eyes blazing with anger.

She looked up at me, her expression flustered, her lips trembling slightly, and murmured softly, "Dazhuang, I... I don't understand what you're saying."
