My Dongguan Love Story

Chapter 16 General Manager Sister Zhao

Zhou Bin, smelling faintly of alcohol, arrived at the loading department, still half asleep. He rubbed his eyes, looking like he hadn't woken up properly. When he saw me, he pointed to the trailer truck at the door.

"You'll be loading the containers by yourself today."

After saying that, he rubbed his eyes, sat down to the side, crossed his legs, smoked, and glanced at me sideways.

I'm installing it all by myself?

No wonder I haven't seen a single person in the loading department since this morning; it turns out Zhou Bin gave them all a holiday. Is he planning to leave me to do everything myself?

Fine, let me do it all by myself. Let's see how I deal with you.

But before we start anything, we need to get Zhou Bin out of the way. I thought for a moment, then deliberately smiled at him:

"Sure, I can handle it by myself. If Team Leader Zhou has something to do, you can go ahead and take care of it. I'll make sure it's all done for you."

Because I loaded the containers all day yesterday by myself without any delays, Zhou Bin thought I was letting him do whatever he wanted and wouldn't dare to do anything reckless.

He glanced at me dismissively, yawned, and turned to lie down on the folding bed in the corner to sleep.

Seeing him fall asleep, I sneered and started moving the goods.

My plan for today is to just let things sit and move things slowly. Let's see what Zhou Bin does when he wakes up and finds the goods aren't loaded properly.

I've already come up with an excuse: I pretended all day yesterday, and I'm exhausted. It's normal that I don't have the energy today, right?

Even if a commotion breaks out and a leader comes over, I'm not afraid.

Since I don't own a forklift, I'm moving things all by myself. At a normal person's pace, it's definitely impossible to load all the goods.

Even with me deliberately slowing down, it took two hours to load only one-fifth of the truck.

At this point, the second trailer truck had already driven in.

After the driver parked the car, he got out and saw that the first car had only loaded so little, and couldn't help but complain to me:

"Bro, why did you only put in so little? My car's already here."

Hearing this, I smiled and shrugged.

"There's nothing I can do. We don't have any forklifts or manpower. I've done my best."

"Why is there only one person?" The foreman frowned, glanced around, and then looked at me. "Where's your team leader, Zhou?"

When I saw him ask me, I turned my head and pointed with my right hand: "Look, Team Leader Zhou sleeps over there."

"Sleeping?" The master raised an eyebrow, his tone clearly displeased. "What time is it? Still sleeping? Is this guy even going to stop pretending?"

As she spoke, she stormed toward Team Leader Zhou's folding bed. When she got there, she saw Zhou Bin fast asleep, snoring away. She was so angry that she wanted to kick him off the bed.

But reason calmed him down. He sighed, bent down, grabbed Zhou Bin's arms with both hands, and shook him awake.

"Team Leader Zhou, why are you loading goods by yourself?"

Zhou Bin rubbed his eyes, still a little dazed from just waking up: "Don't worry, the goods are all being shipped normally, there won't be any delays."

"What do you mean it won't be delayed? The last trailer truck is only half loaded. At this rate, it might not be finished by lunchtime."

"Only half loaded?" Team Leader Zhou was so shocked by this that he jumped out of bed and stared at the truck bed. Sure enough, he only saw that the first truck was not yet fully loaded.

Seeing that I had readily agreed, he assumed I would be as submissive as yesterday, diligently loading the goods. He never imagined that a short nap would cause us to fall so far behind schedule.

If he can't deliver the goods today, his boss will give him a severe scolding, and he might even be fined.

He was so angry his veins were throbbing. He stormed towards me and started yelling as soon as he got close:

"Dazhuang, what's going on? Why isn't the loading finished yet?"

Upon hearing this, I shrugged.

"How can I possibly load the goods so quickly by myself? Keep loading, don't rush."

He ignored him and walked towards the inner door to continue moving goods.

Seeing my state, he became so angry that he started cursing:

"You're slacking off on the project schedule; it seems you don't want to continue."

Hearing his words, I got angry too, turned around and pointed at him angrily:

"Is it that I don't want to do it anymore, or that you don't want me to do it?"

Yesterday, they made me do everything by myself when I came to work, and today they simply gave everyone else a day off and made me move everything by myself. They're targeting me like this. If I'm not having an easy time, neither should you.

"You, you've gone too far!"

Zhou Bin was speechless with anger, and pointed at me, shouting:

"If you don't finish moving today and delay the project, I'll fire you."

Hearing his words, I chuckled and shrugged indifferently.

"Fine, you're abusing your position for personal gain and now you want to fire me? I'll go to HR and explain why. We don't have a forklift or any other staff, and you expect me to move and load four containers all by myself. Let's see what the management says."

"you!"

Seeing that I wouldn't listen to reason, Zhou Bin became furious. He swung his right fist and smashed it down towards my face:

"You little brat, you want to cause trouble? Don't you even know if you're capable?"

Although he wasn't as tall as me, he was very burly. He also seemed to be a trained fighter; as he swung his right fist, a gust of wind swept towards my face.

If I got punched in the face like that, my front teeth would probably break.

So you resort to violence at the slightest disagreement? Fine.

I quickly dodged to the left, avoiding his lightning-fast punch. Then I strode forward and slammed my right shoulder into him.

boom!

Zhou Bin felt as if he had been hit by a truck, and fell backward.

wow~

It knocked the boxes of plush toys behind it, scattering them all over the place.

Zhou Bin shook his head, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, looked around, grabbed a wooden stick from the ground, and charged at me again.

The wooden stick whistled through the air and came hurtling towards my face.

I slightly shifted my body and dodged the stick.

With her right hand in a palm shape, she seized the opportunity and slapped him hard across the face.

Pa~!

The powerful blow left Zhou Bin stunned. His wooden stick faltered, and he forgot to retaliate.

Snap, snap!

I slapped him twice more, so hard that blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. He fell to the ground.

Seeing us start fighting, one of the truck drivers whispered worriedly to the other, a bald man:

"A fight has broken out! Quick, go to the personnel department and find some servants."

They didn't dare to go up and help, so they could only ask the human resources department for help.

The bald truck driver looked somewhat worried. He glanced at the scene and then turned and walked towards the personnel department.

Inside the HR department, the general manager's secretary was asking Huang Ying for someone:

"Does the security department have anyone who is strong and can hold their liquor? Transfer someone out."

"Strong and capable of drinking?" Huang Ying was taken aback, then smiled at the young female secretary: "Sister Wu, the security department is full of old men; we don't have any strong, capable drinkers. If you need someone, I can hire one."

Secretary Wu listened to her words, shook his head, and said with some anxiety:

"There's no time to recruit anyone; Sister Zhao has to go out this afternoon. So, could you check if there are any suitable candidates for other positions in the factory?"

"The general manager needs it?" Huang Ying frowned and thought for a moment, "Okay, I'll go look for other positions in the factory right now."

As the two were talking, the truck driver burst in. He glanced around the room and his eyes lit up when he saw Huang Ying. He didn't recognize one of the men, but he had seen Huang Ying a few times and knew she was the person in charge at the factory.

He called out anxiously to the oriole:

"Boss, something terrible has happened! A fight has broken out in the loading department!"

"They've started fighting?"

Upon hearing this, the oriole stood up in surprise.

"Yes, hurry up, or someone might die." The truck driver said with a worried expression.

"Okay, I'll go see what's going on." Huang Ying nodded, then turned to Secretary Wu: "Sister Wu, I'll go to the loading department first, and then I'll try to find someone for you?"

"Okay, I'll go with you." Secretary Wu had heard that a fight had broken out in the loading department and wanted to see what was going on. Besides, the loading department and the warehouse department were close by, so she could go and see if there were any suitable people there. Even if there weren't, she could go with Huang Ying to other departments to pick out some people after she finished her business.

"Okay." Huang Ying stood up, and the two followed the truck driver toward the loading area.

Huang Ying walked into the loading area, glanced at the empty trucks on the side, and then looked at the trucks that were already two-thirds loaded, her brows furrowed.

"Why did you only put in so little?"

Normally, the second truck would be almost finished loading. Today, the first truck isn't even done yet.

"Yes," the truck driver next to him said, shaking his head in worry.

Huang Ying swept into the loading department, glanced at me, and then looked at Zhou Bin, who was slumped on the ground. His left cheek was swollen and red, and blood was trickling from the corner of his mouth.

"Team Leader Zhou, what's going on?"

When Zhou Bin saw Huang Ying arrive, he quickly embellished the story of our fight and then pointed at me, saying, "Sister Huang, we can't keep this guy in the loading department. We have to fire him today."

Huang Ying listened to his words with a frown, then turned to me and asked, "Da Zhuang, what do you want to say?"

She didn't just listen to Zhou Bin's side of the story, which eased my dissatisfaction somewhat. She then recounted how Zhou Bin had made me move the goods alone.

Huang Ying understood now: Zhou Bin was deliberately making things difficult for me because he couldn't win Tang Yan's heart.

"Team Leader Zhou, whatever grudges you have, they cannot affect your work."

To be honest, she couldn't care less about our petty brawl, but if the truck didn't leave on time, the boss would hold us accountable.

She looked at Zhou Bin:

"Go and call the people on leave back to work. You made a mistake at work today, and the manager will punish you later."

Huang Ying looked at him coldly and said.

Seeing Huang Ying's anger, Zhou Bin knew he was in the wrong and that his actions were affecting the company's business. He could only wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth and hurriedly call back the people on leave to move the goods.

After giving Zhou Bin instructions, Huang Ying looked at me with displeasure:

"And then, Dazhuang, about your matter..."

Secretary Wu had been standing silently to the side. When Huang Ying spoke to me, he knew she was probably going to fire me, so he quickly raised his hand to stop her.

"Huang Ying, I want this one."

When she first saw Chen Dazhuang, she was already quite satisfied with his appearance, given his towering height of 1.9 meters. Seeing him easily defeat the burly Zhou Bin, leaving him defenseless, further pleased her. Wasn't this exactly the strong and robust man she was looking for? She just wondered how well he could hold his liquor.

"You want it?"

Huang Ying glanced at Secretary Wu. She naturally knew what Secretary Wu meant. After thinking about it carefully, she also felt that Chen Dazhuang met Secretary Wu's needs.

Even if Zhou Bin started the fight, the two could still fight each other. But Da Zhuang's actions made it unsuitable for him to stay at Dingsheng.

After all, Dingsheng doesn't welcome employees who like to fight.

But today, Secretary Wu is representing the general manager to find someone, so she has no right to refuse.

"Um."

Secretary Wu nodded. She needed to ask for someone's permission; she had only given the order.

Currently, Chen Dazhuang meets her needs, but it's unclear how much alcohol he can handle.

She adjusted her glasses with her right hand and took a few steps closer to me:

"Chen Dazhuang, how's your alcohol tolerance?"

Alcohol tolerance? I stared at her, stunned.

Suddenly, a beautiful woman walked up to me and asked about my alcohol tolerance. Who wouldn't be stunned in that situation? I glanced at Huang Ying next to her, then at her body.

Seeing that she was dressed like a leader, although I didn't want to talk to her, I didn't dare to look down on her and not answer. After thinking for a moment, I raised one index finger at her.

"A bottle of baijiu?" Secretary Wu looked at me with a hint of disappointment.

"No, I can drink all I want without getting drunk." I shook my head. I wasn't lying; I'd never actually gotten drunk in the village. I'd lived this long and still didn't know what it was like to be drunk.

"That's amazing?" Secretary Wu looked at me with a surprised smile. "Okay, come with me."

"Hmm." I nodded. Although I didn't know what Secretary Wu wanted me to do, I had gotten into a fight with Zhou Bin in the loading department, so it was impossible for me to continue working here.

Let Zhou Bin clean up this mess himself.

When Zhou Bin returned after making the call and saw that I hadn't been punished and had even been taken to the general manager's office by Secretary Wu, he was stunned.

"Is this kid connected to the general manager?"

If he had known that Dazhuang was connected to the general manager, he wouldn't have dared to mess with him.

I followed Secretary Wu to Building 4, took the elevator to the top floor, and she went in first to announce my arrival. After a while, she opened the door and called me in, and then I went in.

As I entered the house, I curiously glanced around inside.

The general manager's office is over 100 square meters, quite spacious. Secretary Wu's workstation is near the entrance. The general manager's desk is in the main hall inside.

Seated at the table was a woman who still possessed a certain charm, appearing to be around forty years old. She wore red lipstick, had long hair, and wore a green cheongsam. Her ample bosom stretched the cheongsam high.

She was looking down at the documents in her hands when she saw me approaching, and she looked up at me.

Her eyes were clear and calm, revealing not a trace of emotion. Upon noticing my height, she nodded slightly.

"He's the one."
