My Dongguan Love Story
Chapter 200 Embrace
The text message from Dazhuang was like a long-awaited rain after a drought, instantly washing away all the grievances and sadness in Lin Huimin's heart, and her depressed mood instantly improved.
She stared at the text message on her phone, a smile unconsciously creeping onto her lips. She couldn't wait to get up and run downstairs, her only thought was to find Dazhuang.
She had long forgotten Wu Jingru's earlier advice to be reserved and not too proactive. At this moment, she didn't care about anything else; all she wanted was to see Dazhuang as soon as possible and rush into his arms for a tight embrace.
Even though she knew in her heart that Dazhuang had other women around him and a lot of emotional entanglements, she couldn't care less about any of that right now.
At this moment, she was truly reluctant to part with Dazhuang and really didn't want to give him up.
She was running too fast and twisted her ankle while going downstairs. She almost fell down the stairs, but managed to grab the handrail to keep her balance.
"what!"
With the slightest movement, a sharp pain shot through her ankle, causing her eyes to instantly redden and tears to almost fall.
The more anxious you are to get somewhere, the more likely you are to run into trouble.
Lin Huimin squatted on the steps, took off her high heels and placed them aside. She gently rubbed her sprained ankle, her brows furrowed in pain, her face showing discomfort. She rubbed it for a while without any improvement, but looking at her phone, she felt extremely anxious, fearing that Dazhuang might leave her.
She simply took off her other shoe as well and put it away, then, holding onto the stair railing, she slowly limped down the stairs. With each step, the excruciating pain made her break out in a cold sweat.
But the thought of Dazhuang waiting for her outside rekindled her anticipation, and she resolutely and slowly walked down the stairs.
Her home is on the third floor, and it usually only takes her a few minutes to go downstairs. But now that she has sprained her ankle, it hurts with every step she takes, so she walks very slowly and it took her more than ten minutes to get down to the first floor.
Calculating the time, there were only ten minutes left until the agreed half hour. She was anxious and flustered, afraid that Dazhuang would leave before she could wait, so she could only endure the pain and walk out of the building.
From afar, she spotted Dazhuang sitting on the bench and immediately waved anxiously, calling out, "Dazhuang!"
She called him twice but he didn't hear her. Ignoring the pain in her foot, she limped forward and quickened her pace, calling out "Dazhuang" all the while.
I sat on the bench, watching the passersby stroll by, my mind preoccupied with the various troubles between Lin Huimin and Tang Yan, and couldn't help but sigh inwardly. I checked my phone and saw that twenty minutes had passed, and Lin Huimin still hadn't come down. I thought she had completely given up and didn't want to see me anymore.
Just then, I vaguely heard someone calling my name.
I quickly turned around and looked around, and immediately saw Lin Huimin walking towards us. When she saw me looking over, she got too excited and took a hurried step forward, but she lost her footing and stumbled and fell to the ground.
"Huimin!"
My heart tightened, and I immediately rushed over, crouched down, and hurriedly checked her over, asking, "Did you hurt yourself?"
Hearing my voice, Lin Huimin looked up at me. All the pent-up grievances she had been holding in surged up in an instant. She suddenly threw herself into my arms, hugged me tightly, and burst into tears, crying out, "Dazhuang..."
Hearing her sobs, my heart felt like it was being squeezed tightly, a mix of ache and pain. I quickly reached out and hugged her, gently patting her back and softly comforting her, "It's alright, I'll carry you home."
Upon hearing this, Lin Huimin's cheeks flushed slightly, and she nodded shyly.
I bent down and picked her up in a princess carry, supporting her waist with one hand and her legs with the other, and carefully carried her up to the third floor.
As I passed by the stairwell, I saw her high heels scattered about, and the door to her apartment had been hastily opened without being closed. I instantly realized that she had twisted her ankle because she had rushed out in such a hurry. My heart ached for her, and I gently reminded her, "Next time, be careful when you go downstairs. Don't twist your ankle again."
"Mmm." Lin Huimin nodded obediently, looked up to meet my burning gaze, and then shyly lowered her head again.
She felt like she was dreaming, that she could reconcile with Dazhuang. She was so happy and excited that she couldn't calm down for a long time.
Even after I gently placed her on the bed, she still couldn't come to her senses.
I asked softly where the liniment was, and she only snapped out of her daze after I asked twice. She pointed quietly toward the living room and said, "It's in that white cabinet."
I nodded in agreement, turned around to get the liniment, sat on the edge of the bed, and carefully applied the medicine to her ankle.
Lin Huimin felt a surge of warmth and was deeply moved as she watched me carefully taking care of her.
After I finished applying the medicine, she couldn't hold back any longer and suddenly pounced on me and hugged me. Caught off guard, I was knocked onto the bed. I quickly looked up at her, a little worried, and said, "Don't be silly, you just twisted your ankle, it still hurts."
Lin Huimin blushed and looked at me, her eyes full of expectation, and asked softly, "Will you bear to part with me?"
I was stunned for a moment upon hearing this, then immediately shook my head repeatedly: "I can't bear to part with it."
Hearing this, Lin Huimin's face instantly lit up with a happy smile. She leaned down and hugged me tightly: "I can't bear to part with you either, Dazhuang. You have no idea how hard today was for me. It felt like an eternity. I kept waiting for your call, but I couldn't get it. I was so anxious, thinking that you were really so heartless and had completely abandoned me."
I looked up at her and explained with a mix of helplessness and heartache, "It's not that I don't want to call you, it's that you blocked me, so I can't get through at all."
Upon hearing this, Lin Huimin suddenly remembered that she had blocked me in a fit of anger after not receiving a reply to her previous message.
She smiled sheepishly, then turned to me with a stern face: "So what if I blocked you? Considering what you've done, just blocking you is already being lenient."
My heart skipped a beat, fearing she would bring up every single thing about me and Tang Yan, so I quickly changed the subject: "Um... you were clearly home just now, why didn't you answer the door after I knocked for so long?"
Lin Huimin sat up straight, crossed her arms, and glanced at me sideways with her pretty eyes: "Of course I heard the knocking, I just didn't want to open the door right away. You've ignored me all day, what's wrong with me giving you a little attention?"
She almost blurted out the "playing hard to get" technique that Wu Jingru had taught her, but she quickly swallowed the words back and simply said that she was being stubborn and deliberately ignoring me.
After hearing that, I could only give an awkward, forced smile.
To be honest, considering all the messes I've made, it wasn't unreasonable for her to ignore me for a few minutes. I also knew that reasoning with a girl who's angry is pointless; it only makes things worse. The best way was to just kiss her, coax her, soften her heart, and her anger would naturally dissipate.
Thinking of this, I immediately reached out and hugged Lin Huimin, then lowered my head and kissed her passionately.
Lin Huimin, who had been holding back her words, was instantly stunned by my sudden kiss, her mind going completely blank, and all her grievances and complaints vanished. She instinctively reached out and hugged me tightly, gently responding to my kiss.
I reached out and pulled her into a tight embrace. She lay softly against me, and I gently ran my palms up and down her back.
Just as I was about to successfully climb to the top, Lin Huimin suddenly grabbed my hand.
