My Dongguan Love Story

Chapter 228 Lin Tao meets Lin Huimin

Chen Siyao's face instantly flushed crimson, her eyes widening in embarrassment and awkwardness. Chen Siqi, noticing her sister's strange expression, followed her gaze and, seeing the scene, scratched her head innocently, asking, "Sis, why are Dazhuang's hands moving around so much?"

Chen Siyao felt her cheeks burning. She was secretly annoyed that her younger sister was too naive and innocent. She quickly reached out and pulled her to walk into the duty room, whispering, "Stop looking. Let's go inside."

She was too ashamed to look at such an explicit scene.

Lin Huimin noticed my hand on her back, her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly reached out and gently pressed my wrist. After a few moments of lingering kisses, as my actions became bolder, she gradually couldn't hold back anymore. She hurriedly turned her head away, her cheeks flushed, and whispered, "Stop it, there are people watching."

I chuckled softly upon hearing this and teased, "You knew there were people outside, yet you still pounced on me and kissed me without saying a word."

Lin Huimin's cheeks flushed from my words. She lowered her eyes shyly and replied softly, "I just missed you so much."

After saying that, she gently jumped off me, then affectionately took my arm, and we slowly walked together into the depths of the factory area.

Watching the trucks unloading goods one after another, Lin Huimin pondered to herself that since Zhao Fengyue left last time, the supply contract between the two parties had not been suspended.

She couldn't be bothered to guess what the other party was up to. As long as they didn't deliberately make things difficult, she would continue to supply goods and do business according to the contract. Now, all she wanted was to save more money so she could settle down with me as soon as possible. She considered this business as a way to earn more savings.

Deep down, she had already decided that I would be her future partner. All the other women were just fleeting scenery along the way, not worth mentioning at all.

I verbally agreed, but my mind was already elsewhere, and my responses gradually became absent-minded.

There was nothing I could do; I was really getting anxious at that moment.

Suddenly, she remembered that Lin Tao had said she would come to help Chen Siyao and her sister get their unpaid wages. Almost an hour had passed, and she still hadn't shown up. She wondered how much longer it would take for her to arrive.

The thought of Lin Tao seeing Lin Huimin and me holding hands so intimately gives me a headache. I really don't know what kind of trouble it would cause.

I'm genuinely nervous right now, and I desperately want to send a message to Lin Tao to ask her to come later. But I just can't seem to find a way to say it.

Sigh, I can only pray that they don't bump into each other, otherwise it will definitely be a big problem.

Lin Huimin, being perceptive, quickly noticed my unusual behavior. She stopped and turned to look at me with a puzzled expression: "Dazhuang, why are you so distracted? Is something on your mind?"

I was startled by her sudden question, thinking to myself that her observation skills were too sharp. Afraid that she would see through my act, I quickly shook my head and said, trying to appear calm, "N-nothing."

Lin Huimin glanced at me with a puzzled look, but didn't ask any more questions. She still affectionately linked her arm with mine, rested her head gently on my arm, and leisurely watched the truck driver and warehouse workers in front of her discussing the unloading, looking completely at ease.

Just then, Chen Siyao came running over, her face flushed. She saw us being so intimate from afar and was initially hesitant to approach, but remembering the urgent matter of getting her wages and that I had mentioned Officer Lin would come to help, she finally steeled herself and approached, speaking softly, "Dazhuang, Officer Lin is here and waiting in the duty room. Should I call her over?"

Upon hearing these words, my heart tightened suddenly, and my body trembled slightly involuntarily. It truly proved the saying that what you fear most is what will happen.

Lin Huimin, who was nestled beside me, heard everything clearly. She immediately looked up at me with worried eyes and asked in confusion, "Why have even the police come? Has something happened at the factory again?"

The series of assaults and arson incidents had already made her wary and uneasy. If the two of them had already established a formal relationship, she would definitely not want me to continue working in this dangerous place, as she felt that danger lurked everywhere.

Seeing the worry in her eyes, I felt a surge of warmth in my heart. I gently comforted her and then turned to Chen Siyao, saying, "I understand. You go and keep them company for a bit. I'll be there shortly."

"Okay." Chen Siyao nodded in response, and without thinking any further, turned around and hurriedly walked towards the duty room.

I stared in the direction she had left, my mind a jumble of thoughts, torn between two conflicting emotions.

Lin Huimin was still beside me, and Lin Tao had already arrived at the duty room. If the two of them bumped into each other, the situation would be impossible to resolve. I was panicking terribly, and a layer of cold sweat unconsciously seeped out of my forehead. I secretly regretted my lack of discretion, and now I was in this dilemma. I was really afraid that they would start a fight and blame me in the end.

I lit a cigarette to calm myself down, hoping the unloading would finish quickly. The workers were efficient and finished unloading all the goods from the truck in no time.

I quickly turned to Lin Huimin and said, "The goods have all been unloaded, you can go back and take care of your business."

Lin Huimin immediately shook her head, leaned close to me, and said in a tender tone, "Work is nothing compared to spending time with you. I've missed you so much, it's been two or three days since we last met."

She nestled close to me, her eyes filled with affection, clearly reluctant to leave.

Feeling utterly helpless, I could only gently coax her, promising to spend some time with her that night. After some soothing words, Lin Huimin finally released her hand from mine, looking at me with lingering reluctance, and asked softly, "Shall I go now?"

I nodded slightly and waved to her.

Lin Huimin looked back at me several times, her eyes filled with reluctance, before finally getting into the car. She watched the delivery truck leave before starting the car and driving off. As she passed the duty room, she spotted Lin Tao standing outside and immediately stopped.

She was constantly worried about my safety, fearing there might be hidden dangers in the factory that I wouldn't tell the truth. So she seized the opportunity to ask, "Officer, is something wrong at the factory?"

Lin Tao looked up at the sound and saw that it was the woman in the car who was asking the question. She shook her head slightly and replied, "It's nothing serious."

The matter of demanding unpaid wages is a private matter for others, and she is not in a position to say anything more to the public.

Hearing this, Lin Huimin felt relieved. Seeing that nothing was wrong, she waved to Lin Tao and then drove out of the factory.

I stood far to the side, watching the two stop talking, my heart leaping into my throat. Although they were complete strangers before, with no connection whatsoever, I wondered if they would talk about me now that they were striking up a conversation. I was so nervous that I didn't know what to do.

Seeing that the two of them chatted for a few minutes before Lin Huimin drove away, my heart finally settled down a little. I quickly walked over to Lin Tao and asked, "Taozi, what were you two talking about?"

Lin Tao turned her head and saw me. A smile immediately spread across her face. She casually replied, "We didn't talk about anything else. That lady just asked if anything had happened at the factory."

Upon hearing this, I breathed a sigh of relief, secretly glad that they hadn't mentioned anything related to me, and that I hadn't given myself away.

Lin Tao's eyes darted around, and she casually asked as she looked me up and down, "That girl was really pretty. Is she from your factory?"

Girls are naturally observant, and they're bound to pay more attention to pretty women. Her question clearly indicated she was trying to glean something from my words and actions.

I instantly became wary, but shook my head calmly and explained, "No, she's a supplier who provides hardware to our factory. We've been expanding our factory all along."

Lin Tao nodded upon hearing this, then glanced at the factory under construction not far away, seemingly casually joking, "The factory has been under construction for so long, this lady must have come here quite a few times, didn't you ever think of taking the initiative to strike up a conversation and get to know her?"
