My Dongguan Love Story

We drove all the way to a construction site for commercial housing. The place was huge; you couldn't see the end of it even if you looked in from the entrance.

The place was bustling with workers, their footsteps never ceasing, and the tower cranes and mixers were all spinning non-stop, the machines humming loudly.

Chen Siyao pointed to the construction site and said, "Dazhuang, my mom used to work here."

I answered and rode my motorcycle straight towards the gate. As soon as we arrived, the security guard immediately stood up and stopped us: "What are you doing here? Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter."

Chen Siyao quickly peeked out from behind me and greeted me with a smile, "Uncle Li, it's me, Siyao."

Upon hearing the familiar voice, security guard Lao Li turned around and saw her sitting in the car. He immediately smiled and walked over. Seeing that she looked well, he felt much more at ease and casually asked, "Is your mother, Lijuan, feeling any better?"

Wu Lijuan was injured at work and went to the hospital but never came back, so he doesn't know how she is now.

Old Li waved his hand and laughed, "It's nothing. Remember to say hello to your mother for me when you get back."

I nodded and greeted Lao Li, then turned the car around to the right side of the construction site. Sure enough, I saw that the wall here wasn't very high. After parking the car, I walked to the base of the wall, bent down slightly, pushed off with my feet, and with a light leap, I firmly grabbed the top of the wall with both hands and easily flipped over.

I sighed softly, "Then hold on tighter to me, and I'll try to pull you up."

"Okay." Chen Siyao obediently reached out and grabbed it, waiting for me to exert force without moving.

I sat on the thin wall, feeling uncomfortable all over, with nowhere to put my weight on. She couldn't get any leverage with her feet either, so my attempts to pull her were completely futile.

I'm nearly 1.9 meters tall, so as long as I stand up steadily, she can easily climb the wall by stepping on my shoulders.

After I finished speaking, I slowly straightened up. But before I could even get halfway up, Chen Siyao's legs suddenly gave way, and she cried out in surprise as she fell to the side.

I reacted very quickly, instinctively reaching out to catch her and support her firmly, preventing her from falling to the ground. However, in my haste and panic, my hands lost their grip and accidentally touched something I shouldn't have.
