My Dongguan Love Story

I slumped onto the soft sofa, my right arm around Sister Zhao, whose fair skin seemed to have no bones. Sister Zhao nestled against my chest, her face flushed. She looked up at me, saw my sweat-drenched brow, and couldn't help but smile.

"Look how tired you are."

I was exhausted and panting as I looked at her: "Next time it's your turn to do the work."

Sister Zhao pouted and smiled at me, "Okay, okay, next time I'll definitely make you unable to resist."

After saying that, she looked up and kissed me with her red lips. Seeing my gaze drifting towards her chest, she shyly grabbed some clothes to cover her exposed skin. After snuggling against me for a while, she softly said to me:

"Dazhuang, are you free tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow? Nothing important." I shook my head.

"Hmm." Sister Zhao nodded, looking as if she wanted to say something but hesitated.

"Xiaoqian and Zhang Peng are going to Hong Kong Island tomorrow, right? She told me this morning that she wants you to go with them so you can protect her."

"Am I going with them? To be a third wheel?" I asked, somewhat puzzled.

Seeing my expression, Sister Zhao sighed:

"I know it might be difficult for you to go with Xiaoqian. But I think Xiaoqian's attitude will affect our future. If you can spend more time with her, she'll change her mind about you once she knows what kind of person you are."

"And Hong Kong Island isn't very safe either."

Since Sister Zhao had already put it that way, I could only nod in agreement. But I was very puzzled. Zhang Xiaoqian clearly disliked me, so why would she want me to go with them? Did she really want me to protect them?

But wouldn't bringing me along be like bringing a third wheel? How would they be able to have fun?

A fair hand rested on mine: "I really hope Xiaoqian can get rid of her opinion of you. This trip to Hong Kong Island is a good opportunity."

We cuddled for a while longer before reluctantly parting. After I got dressed, I walked out of the office and saw Secretary Su lurking suspiciously against the door.

Secretary Su was pressed tightly against the door when it suddenly opened. She lost her balance and stumbled, falling towards me. Seeing her fall towards me, I quickly reached out to support her.

Her waist was extremely slender; I could grasp most of it with one hand. At first, it felt soft and yielding, but as soon as I held it, her muscles immediately tensed up.

Secretary Su stumbled and landed face-first on my chest, feeling my hand grip her slender waist. Her face flushed crimson. She shyly grabbed my clothes, steadied herself, and stood up. She looked at me flusteredly:

When Secretary Su heard what I said, she thought I was implying that she was eavesdropping on what was happening inside by pressing her ear against the door. Her face immediately turned red. She rubbed her glasses with her hand and stammered for a long time without being able to say a word.

I smiled and glanced at her, not thinking much of it, waved to her, and prepared to go to work in the marketing department.

As Secretary Su watched me leave and my retreating figure, she mustered her courage and ran towards me. Reaching me, she looked up at me shyly and said:

"Manager Chen, could you please give me your phone number?"

I stopped and looked down at Secretary Su. Looking at her shy face, I didn't think much of it. I figured she probably wanted my phone number so it would be easier for her to contact me if she needed anything related to work, so I gave it to her.

Secretary Su looked at my back, thinking of my broad chest and the intimate contact we had just had, her face flushed, and she smiled happily with her lips pursed.

As soon as I returned to the marketing department, Wang Lin came to me.

"Manager Chen, here are the retail department's sales figures for the past two days. Please take a look."

Looking at the performance report she brought, my head started spinning. After examining it closely, the sheer volume of data and tables made my eyes water. This only strengthened my resolve to ask Sister Zhao to let me quit my job as marketing manager.

I was thinking that once I got back from Hong Kong Island, I would quit this job with Sister Zhao.

I pushed the performance report back to Wang Lin and said to her, "I won't look at this. You can decide for yourself. In a few days, I plan to talk to Sister Zhao and ask you to be the marketing manager."

Upon hearing my words, Wang Lin's face lit up with barely concealed excitement, her eyes sparkling as she winked at me:

"Really? Thank you, Manager Chen. Are you free tonight, Manager Chen? Let me treat you to dinner."

Wang Lin could also tell that I didn't really care about this position. Moreover, I seemed to have a good relationship with General Manager Zhao, and I often skipped work without him complaining.

Hearing my question and answer, her voice softened even more, and she said with a touch of flustered sincerity, "I'd like to invite you to dinner. Do you have time later?"

I remembered that my cousin's wife said this morning that Lin Huimin liked me and that I should talk to her about it. So I decided to talk to her when I went over for lunch, and I agreed, saying, "Okay."

After I agreed, Lin Huimin immediately said, "Then come to my house. I'll cook for you myself. My house is in Donghu Garden."

Her best friend beside her is named Wu Jingru, who has been a friend of Lin Huimin for many years.
