Two Realms: The Dark Wizard Evolves Madly in the Wasteland
Chapter 21 Lesser Demon Bloodline Wizard
The laboratory corridor was dimly lit.
The atmosphere was somewhat similar to the morgue in the hospital in her previous life. Lilyne walked at the front, and every time she passed by, the grease lamps on the walls on both sides of the corridor, which had long been extinguished, would suddenly burst into a ghostly blue flame with a "whoosh".
Raven guessed that this was because Senior Lilynet had an extremely high affinity for fire, or that she had fixed a spell similar to gathering fire elements on her robe.
He didn't have that ability, but Raven had excellent eyesight; even in the dim light, he could see the wrinkles on Lilynette's crystal stockings.
Lilyne, who was walking ahead, suddenly stopped. Without turning around, she simply raised her slender fingers and flicked them gently backward.
A small red snake, like a firefly, circled Raven several times before quickly disappearing into his body.
"Hmm..." Raven felt a cool sensation instantly flow through his body.
This is "fireproof technology! It provides immunity to flames for eight hours!"
The two continued walking, and at the end of the corridor was a heavy black iron gate.
Lilynet chanted the spell "Frennies," and the doors slid open slowly to the sides with a sickening metallic scraping sound.
A strong smell of sulfur made Raven frown slightly.
This is a circular underground laboratory, with runes carved all around the walls to prevent magical explosions.
In the very center of the room stood a huge adamantite cage, surrounded by three layers of suppression arrays of different colors, emitting a low hum.
Today's test subject came into Raven's view.
It was a creature huddled in the corner of the cage, only the size of a hunting dog.
Its skin was a charred dark red, and a pair of tattered, fleshy wings were folded up on its back.
Upon hearing the door open, it abruptly raised its head, revealing a ferocious face covered with fine, sharp teeth. Its dark yellow vertical pupils were filled with savagery and madness, and it let out a low growl like a wild beast.
"This is... a little imp?"
Raven's pupils contracted slightly. He had seen descriptions of this creature in his general course on demonic creatures, but the actual thing in front of him was clearly more intimidating.
"Yes! Little devil!"
Lilyne walked up to the cage and looked down at the restless creature.
"This was captured by my mentor, Colton, who personally went to the edge of the Endless Abyss of Demons last month."
As Lilynet put on her specially made fire-resistant gloves, she gave the instructions:
"Demons are creatures born with an aura of mental pollution that is essentially zero-ring. They are adept at using fear, greed, or compassion to break down the will of their prey. Whatever it says or whatever emotional fluctuations you feel later, don't let your mind wander, or it will burrow into your brain like a parasite."
"Before you, many low-level apprentices have already died because of this little imp!"
Raven nodded calmly. In the past six months, he had come to know that his senior sister was extremely concise in her speech. She usually spoke in terms of "water, heart, knife, pliers..." The fact that she could say so many words today was enough to prove that this thing was really dangerous.
Their gaze returned to the cage.

"Tsk tsk! It looks like a hairless, red-skinned monkey!"
Raven subtly scanned the lesser demon.
The little demon seemed to sense the impending doom, and its previously ferocious roar suddenly stopped.
Instead, it emitted a whimpering sound similar to that of a human baby crying, and a few murky tears squeezed out from its dark yellow vertical pupils, making it look extremely pitiful.
"Ouch...it hurts...it hurts so much..."
Intermittent utterances of the Common Language were squeezed from the demon's throat, carrying a strange mental fluctuation that inexplicably softened one's heart.
Raven frowned slightly.
"Clumsy!"
She snorted coldly, without any pre-casting animation.
hum!
"Sizzle."
Lilynette's seemingly slender and fair arms were now bursting with terrifying strength that was completely disproportionate to her appearance.
She disdained to use any cutting spells, relying solely on her physical strength to uproot the little demon's newly grown, tender wings.
"roar!"
The voice no longer carried any deceptive imitation, but was filled with the most primal and pure pain and despair.
But this is just the beginning.
After Lilynet tore off all four limbs of the little demon as if it were a poultry to be slaughtered, not a single drop of blood remained on her body.
The little demon, having lost its limbs and wings, lay limp in the center of the cage like a lump of mud, as if it were a broken toy.
Raven stood to the side, raising an eyebrow. He hadn't expected his senior sister to have such a ruthless side. Sure enough, the title of Flame Witch was more than just an empty name in the academy.
For someone who has lived two lives, this level of brutality, while visually striking, was not enough to make him lose his composure.
"Raven?"
"Yes, Senior Sister."
Raven quickly snapped out of his daze, turned around, and grabbed a set of sophisticated glassware from the lab bench next to him.
It was a crystal bottle with a vacuum negative pressure property, connected to a thin mithril conduit.
He walked to the cage and squatted down.
Although the little imp, having lost its limbs, was unable to move, its eyes remained fixed on Raven.
As Raven approached, it made a "hoho" sound in its throat.
Raven remained unmoved; his movements were precise and steady.
Holding the mithril catheter in his right hand, he pierced the skin directly into the area of its heart without any hesitation.
puff.
The catheter pierced through the tough demon skin and precisely stabbed into the wildly beating heart.
Dark red, scalding hot blood, like lava, instantly rushed into the catheter and was drawn into the crystal bottle by the vacuum negative pressure.
"Well……"
The little demon's body suddenly convulsed, then went completely limp, only its eyes still staring venomously upwards until the light in its pupils was completely extinguished.
"very good."
Lilynet leaned closer, watching the bright red liquid in the collection bottle rapidly turn into something resembling magma, and finally a satisfied smile appeared on her lips.
"It's very pure, and it even has a trace of Balrog blood..."
She gently placed the crystal bottle on the lab table, turned around, and looked intently at Raven.
"Raven, do you know why most apprentices in the academy spend their entire lives stuck at the intermediate level, or even fail to reach the threshold of advanced apprenticeship?"
Raven shook his head. Although he had already guessed, he still waited quietly for the "Flame Witch" to answer.
"Because a wizard's mental strength has its limits."
Lilynee stretched out her finger and drew a circle in the air.
"Relying on meditation and potions is like filling a fixed container with water. When the container is full, no matter how hard you try, the water will overflow, and your mental strength will no longer be able to advance."
She paused, her tone becoming more serious than ever before: "To break through this threshold and become a true, official wizard, you must break this vessel."
"How do we break it?" Raven asked cooperatively.
"Bloodline fusion, rune modification, magical plant modification..."
Lilynet uttered this word, which represents supreme power in the wizarding world.
"In the history of wizards, those great pioneers discovered that by transplanting and fusing the blood and soul of powerful creatures, they could transform them into bloodline runes and imprint them deep within their own souls and bodies..."
She looked at Raven.
"The difference between bloodline wizards lies in the level of their bloodline and the compatibility with their runes. Ordinary magical beast bloodlines might only allow you to become a high-level apprentice..."
Lilynette looked Raven up and down without any attempt to hide it, her tone carrying a touch of objective cruelty.
"Your aptitude is not good; your mental strength limit and elemental affinity are only mediocre. If you follow the conventional meditation path, you will most likely remain stuck in the quagmire of advanced apprentice for the rest of your life."
She paused, then changed the subject, a fervent glint in her eyes befitting a fire witch: "Finding a suitable bloodline, even just the life essence of a lowly demon... can allow you to transcend in an instant!"
Lilyne walked to the lab table.
"Raven, you must remember, bloodline fusion is not child's play. Once you choose a direction, there is no turning back. You must choose the direction that best suits your personality, talents, and even your desire for power."
She held up three slender, pale fingers and began to list them simply:
"The first path. Centered on strength, defense, and regeneration. For example, fusing the bloodlines of trolls and behemoths. This path can grant you a terrifying physique comparable to a magical beast, allowing you to regenerate rapidly even if your limbs are severed... but the potential is extremely low!"
"The second path takes extremely high elemental power as its core, fusing the bloodlines of dragons and elves. This..."
"The third path, the [mystical side], focuses on soul and mind invasion and control, fusing the bloodlines of succubi, nightmares, or abyssal eye demons..."
"Raven...you're working hard, but hard work alone isn't enough...you need direction!"
"I understand, senior sister." Raven nodded.
For someone who has lived two lives and possesses the absolute rationality of the "Deep Blue Crawler" cheat, he understands the importance of "choice" better than anyone else.
