Courtyard House: Starting with a 28-inch motorcycle

Chapter 71 The first floor of the east wing is He Daqing's territory.

This matter concerning He Yushui must be resolved completely; it cannot be delayed any longer.

Besides... he also missed his father, He Daqing.

In my memory, the old man had a miserable old age. After the white widow died, his two "sons" turned their backs on him and kicked him out of the house.

Fortunately, He Daqing was better off than me; after all, he had a son to see him off in his final days, and he didn't end up freezing to death under a bridge.

This trip is not only to bring my father back, but also to teach those two Bai family brats a lesson.

If they dare to take advantage of us, don't blame He Yuzhu for being ruthless.

But to be fair, those two guys were about the same age as me, so it wouldn't be considered bullying if they really started fighting.

Before the rooster crowed the next day, He Yuzhu didn't even make breakfast. He picked up his bicycle and rushed to the steel rolling mill.

When He Yushui woke up, she rubbed her eyes and wanted to go to the main house to find something to eat, but the door was locked and the windows were sealed tightly.

She then realized that she had already handed over the key. She stood frozen at the door, her lips trembling with anger, her eyes reddening with grievance. In the end, she could only slink back into her room.

Meanwhile, He Yuzhu had already stormed into Li Huaide's office and cut to the chase: "Brother, I'd like to ask for two days off to go to Baoding to see my dad."

Upon hearing this, Li Huaide immediately nodded: "Okay, there's nothing serious right now. The engineer won't be here until next month."

Go ahead, just don't take too long.

After leaving the factory, he went to the neighborhood office to get the certificate of his kinship with He Yushui.

Without this thing, you can't even buy a train ticket.

After finishing all that, he returned to the courtyard house.

Our first stop wasn't our own home, but Old Wang's.

"Old Wang, I'll be away for two days. Keep an eye on the house for me." His tone was calm but left no room for doubt. "If anyone dares to break in, call the police immediately and also get the neighborhood committee members involved. Don't give them any face."

Old Wang patted his chest and assured him, "Don't worry! You've helped my family so much; I've made twelve or thirteen yuan net from wood carving these past two months, and with odd jobs, it's almost twenty-five. How could I not handle this little thing?"

After explaining everything, He Yuzhu turned and walked towards He Yushui's room. He raised his hand and knocked on the door, his voice as cold as iron: "Pack your things. The certificate is issued. Come with me to Baoding to find Dad today."

"What? Brother... are you serious? You really don't want me anymore?" He Yushui's face turned pale instantly, her eyes reddened immediately, and she started sobbing before she could finish speaking, "I won't go... I won't leave..."

"Not going?" He Yuzhu didn't even blink. "Then I'll go by myself."

From now on, you're on your own. Don't expect me to feed you anymore.

Seeing her crying so heartbreakingly, he felt terrible, but he knew he had to make that cut.

If her attachment to the Jia family is not severed, she will never have a peaceful life.

"You have half an hour." He stared at the clock on the wall. "Either you obediently come with me to Baoding, or you stay alone in the courtyard and starve. The choice is yours."

After saying that, he turned and went back into the house, where he neatly packed two changes of clothes—which he then threw into the system space, of course.

He cleaned it out last night, putting away all the valuables, including his prized radio.

Now, only a bicycle remains in the house, leaning alone against the corner of the wall.

Just over half an hour later, rustling footsteps came from outside the door.

He Yushui stood at the door with her bag on her back and her eyes swollen, head down, like a kitten soaked in the rain.

"Let's go." He Yuzhu only uttered two words, picked up his car keys, and walked out.

The two remained silent the whole way, went straight to the bus stop, took a bus to the train station, bought two tickets to Baoding, and boarded the train smoothly.

In the afternoon, the train came to a stop, panting heavily.

He Yuzhu, carrying luggage, led He Yushui off the platform, quickly transferred to a bus, and after asking around, finally found the street where He Daqing lived.

The family compound was old and dilapidated, with peeling paint on the walls, clotheslines lying haphazardly, and the air filled with the smell of pickled vegetables and coal smoke.

He Yuzhu recognized the place at a glance.

In his past life, after the old man died, he brought He Yushui here to demand an explanation, but was blocked at the door by the White Widow and couldn't even step over the threshold.

That day, the wind was biting cold. They stood at the door for most of the day, their teeth chattering from the cold, and finally had to leave in a sorry state.

In this life, he will not let that happen again.

He stepped into the courtyard, his gaze sharp as a knife, sweeping over the tightly closed doors.

This time, he's here to take back everything that belongs to him.

The wind at the door swirled up dust, and He Yuzhu paused half a step in front of the door, his eyes darkening, before stepping into the yard.

As soon as he stepped across the threshold, an old man who had been squatting in the corner sunbathing immediately sat up, squinting at him: "Hey, young man, who are you looking for? You look unfamiliar. You're not from around here, are you?"

"Looking for He Daqing, my father."

The old man raised an eyebrow: "He Daqing? Aren't those the two kids from Xiaobai's family? And who are you to call them your son?"

"Grandpa, why are you bothered by this?" He Yuzhu said in a lukewarm tone. Before he finished speaking, he had already led He Yushui straight inside.

This courtyard was even more crowded than a traditional courtyard house, with buildings and windows facing each other, all two-story brick houses, and the air was filled with the smell of cooking oil and damp clothes.

The first floor of the east wing was He Daqing's territory.

Thump—thump—thump!

Before she could knock a few times, the white widow's shrill voice came from inside: "Who is it?!"

He Yuzhu remained silent, then slammed his fingers down three more times, this time with even more force.

The door was flung open with a bang, and the white widow peeked out. When she saw two young men standing outside, her expression changed instantly—one had a cold and stern look, and his features were strikingly similar to He Daqing's; the other was a young girl with her head down and her eyes red-rimmed, as if she had just been crying.

Her mind went blank for a moment, and she immediately recognized who the two people were.

Bang! She raised her hand to slam the door shut!

But the door had barely moved an inch when He Daqing's lazy voice came from inside: "Huiyun, who is it?"

"I am He Yuzhu!"

He Yuzhu roared out the name like thunder, giving the widow no chance to react. He grabbed his sister with one hand, pushed her with his shoulder, and broke down the door!

The room was dimly lit. He Daqing was sitting on the edge of the bed smoking when he suddenly looked up and saw the person who had come in. He forgot to smoke and froze on the spot: "Zhu...Zhuzi? What are you doing here?"

"I need to talk to you about something, and while I'm at it... I'll check on Nian."

"Bullshit!" the white widow screamed as she charged forward, her voice piercingly loud. "Where did this little bastard come from, daring to barge into my house? Get out! Get out right now!"

As she cursed, she reached out and grabbed He Yushui's arm, her nails almost digging into her flesh, trying to drag her away.

"You're asking for it!"

He Yuzhu's pupils contracted, anger surged to his head, and he raised his leg to kick—

"Ta-da!"

The white widow was struck as if by a cannonball, staggering back three steps before slamming her head against the door with a thud. Her buttocks hit the ground hard, and she screamed in pain, "Murder! Someone's been killed! This is outrageous!"

He can scold her or hit her; that's his business.

But would anyone dare to touch his sister even a hair on his head?

Then don't blame him for turning ruthless.

He didn't even use one tenth of his strength in that kick.

If she really strained, the little thing inside her would have turned to mush long ago.

But the commotion alerted the two people inside—the widow's two sons jumped up from their stools, grabbed benches from the table, and were about to pounce on her: "Fuck your ancestors! How dare you touch my mother? I'll cripple you today!"

He Daqing was terrified. He threw away his cigarette butt and roared, "Stop! All of you, stop!"

"Shut your mother!" One of the sons, his eyes red, charged forward, a kitchen knife that had appeared in his hand without his knowledge. A cold glint flashed in his eyes. "I'll chop you up, you bastard!"

Before the words were finished—

Bang!Bang!

Two muffled thuds, so fast that the movements were barely visible.

He Yuzhu's fists moved like lightning, striking one person in the chest as if hit by a hammer, sending them flying backward!

The person on the left crashed into the cabinet with a loud bang, and was pinned underneath. He twitched twice and then stopped moving, only making hoarse breathing sounds from his throat.

The one on the right flew straight towards the dining table and slammed onto it with a "thud." The cleaver flew out of his hand, its blade slicing through the air in a streak of silver light.

He Yuzhu's eyes narrowed, and he caught the knife handle firmly with a backhand motion.

The next second, the other person was already standing in front of that person, grabbing the other person's neck with his left hand and pressing him firmly onto the table.

Right hand raised high—

bass!

The knife tip grazed his nose and pierced the wooden table, creating a dark crack.

bass!

The second cut landed close to the left cheek, sending wood chips flying.

bass!

The third stab was driven into his right ear, the blade penetrating three-tenths of an inch, trembling slightly.

The boy's eyes rolled back, his whole body trembled like a leaf, and he could feel the chill from the blade on the hairs on the tip of his nose. He didn't dare to breathe.

He Yuzhu released his grip and gave a cold laugh: "You still dare to take out a knife? Hmm?"

The room was deathly silent.

Only the two injured men groaned on the ground. The white widow slumped in a corner, wailing, while He Daqing stood frozen in place, his heart pounding as if it would burst out of his chest.

The first time he saw his son take action was decisive, ruthless, and without any hesitation.

He beat the two strong men into useless pieces in no time, especially those three stabs, which were just inches away from piercing their heads.

He quickly stepped forward and pulled He Yuzhu away, his voice trembling: "Alright, alright! Stop it! Are you trying to kill someone?!"

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing." He Yuzhu waved his hand, his tone eerily calm. "They'll be in bed for a couple of days at most; their bones aren't broken."

"You have no sense of propriety whatsoever!" He Daqing slammed his fist on the table in anger. "I thought I was going to visit you in jail! And you're still standing here making sarcastic remarks?"

He looked around: the cabinet was overturned, the table was cracked, and the floor was covered with debris and bloodstains.

Upon closer inspection, it was clear that neither of the two sons had bled or broken any bones; they were just groaning in pain. The other son was completely terrified, his eyes wide open.

Just as things were getting chaotic, a commotion arose at the door.

"Great Qing! Little Bai! What's going on? What happened?"

Several neighbors peered through the door frame and immediately saw the white widow lying on the ground. They quickly helped her up.

"Oh my god, what a mess this fight has gotten!"

"Who did this? Call the police!"

He Yuzhu stood in the center of the room, his clothes perfectly in place, his eyes cold as knives.

No one dared to come near him.

When the white widow saw that her neighbors had all gathered around, her heart warmed and she felt more confident.
