My Magical Card Tavern
Chapter 61 The Depths of the Dark Forest
Chapter 61 The Depths of the Dark Forest
Are law-abiding goblins sneaking in to take on private jobs under martial law?
That's definitely a law-abiding goblin.
Ginell glanced at the cards and felt the effect was just so-so.
This goblin-type card's effect is entirely focused on board control.
Whether it's the health restored each round or the doubled healing effect, it all seems to illustrate how miserable the goblins were during the Dark Ages.
This is completely different from other races on the Pangu Continent who can seek help from other races and nations when they encounter trouble.
For example, a behemoth like the Northern Union or the Golden Empire would lend a hand if its subordinates were in trouble.
The situation on the continent of Pangu during the Dark Ages was quite different. People were lucky if they could even protect themselves, let alone worry that their so-called requests for help might be a conspiracy by the other side to annex them.
As for races like goblins, which are numerous but rarely produce strong individuals, their situation is even worse; they are among the lowest-ranking slaves.
However, Dura's arrival provided Genelec with some very useful information, much like the mysterious merchant who occasionally appears during the settlement of a game instance.
Someone has their eye on the tavern.
Since arriving in Silver Star City of the Northern Union with the tavern, Ginnell has met and gotten to know mostly good people.
Both the muscular nun and the group from the Mage's Guild harbored goodwill towards Genelec.
But Ginell wouldn't actually believe that everyone in the Northern Union was a good person; that would be too foolish.
Who's got their eye on me?
Did the magical effect of that Mage's Gathering card get leaked?
Or perhaps it was some alchemists and magicians who wanted to study taverns, or simply some noble lords of Silver Star City who wanted their own taverns.
After thinking for a while, Gianna decided to put the issue aside for the time being.
There are no clues or evidence, and all we have right now is this nonsensical sentence from Dula. Trying to guess it would just be a waste of time.
During the rest of the business day, Gianna slowly sipped his beer, wanting to see if there were any other experts besides Dura who dared to venture into the Dark Forest.
But as it turns out, that goblin was indeed quite skilled; no one else dared to venture inside except for him.
The second half of the business day has begun.
jingle.
When the doorbell rang, Gianna immediately sat up from her chair, her eyes fixed intently on the wooden door.
Luke came in.
"Why is it you?"
Ginnell sat back down and lazily poured Luke a beer.
"Have some nuts on my plate first. You actually arrived earlier than the old man today, is something wrong?"
Luke grabbed a handful of peanuts and started eating them, saying...
"I want to support the Northern Union, but the priests and the current chief in the tribe disagree."
"Ginnell asked curiously.
"What a joke! You're a legendary orc. Why would the priests and chieftains in the tribe dare to disobey you? There are plenty of orcs who would listen to you even if they don't."
"Oh, I see. You know there's trouble in the Dark Forest, so you're planning to send a group of young people here for training, right? And also help out some old men who might be in trouble."
Luke nodded.
"I can't help it," Gianna explained helplessly.
"You're overthinking it, brother. Not to mention that those monsters haven't even broken through the outer blockade and rushed outside yet, there's been no movement from Silver Star City alone."
Under such circumstances, would you expect an orc tribe to send an army to provide support?
Putting aside any conspiracies or schemes, the mere act of sending support should make the Northern Union wonder if they are looking down on us. Is this an attempt to show the Pangu Continent that we are the weak?
The chieftains and priests of the orc tribes are not fools; they would certainly not agree to such a decision that could easily cause diplomatic disputes.
Luke nodded, indicating that Ginell was right.
The tribe's current chief and high priest immediately grabbed his legs, shouting things like, "Ancestor, this won't do. Calm down."
Genele shook his head, a smile appearing on his face.
"Alright, let's not talk about your business for now. There's a good show to watch today, so don't leave yet."
,
jingle.
This time it's Silver Star.
"Old man!"
"say!"
Ginnell slammed his hand on the table, his momentum overwhelming.
"How did you fall down back then? And who made you fall down!"
'
"Confess honestly, and you'll be treated leniently!"
"Otherwise, you won't get any alcohol!"
Silver Star glanced at Genelec, then at Luke who was watching the drama unfold, and sighed.
"Little Gianna, it's the rule to offer each guest a complimentary beer."
Ginnell nodded seriously.
"Yes, that is indeed the rule of the pub. I can provide it to you, and then I think you'll buy me a drink."
"So you still can't drink it."
Silver Star's expression froze, and he couldn't help but shake his head and mutter about the cunning humans.
"Strange wordplay, but I'm curious about something."
Silver Star looked at Genelec.
"How much do you know now, or do you only know that the swarm exists?"
This is a language trap.
If Ginnell only learned about the swarm because of the disturbances in the Dark Forest, coupled with certain records in the Silver Star City's ancient texts.
That's great. Silver Star will then explain to Gennell in detail what the swarm is, and keep the deeper details to herself.
Plans are in place!
However, Gianna's main point was to avoid pressure, so she simply read the entire record of the Fate Generator verbatim.
Yin Xing opened her mouth, but didn't know what to say.
"You already know that, don't you!"
""
Gianna shrugged.
"Details, I need details, understand? The monsters here are already affecting my business."
Silver Star thought for a moment, then gently shook the staff in her hand, creating a three-layered architectural template.
Its narrow top and wide bottom shape makes it look like a mausoleum tower.
"I'll try to keep it simple, little Gianna."
“Silver Star pointed to the first floor and said.”
"This is where you are, and it's the first area of the Dark Forest. It's basically only inhabited by skeleton-type undead monsters, with the highest class level being three stars."
""
Even if a few four-star monsters occasionally appear, they will be guided to the second floor.
"The second layer is the territory of the insect swarm, which is also the deep area of the Dark Forest. It is not a place that lower-level professionals below three stars can set foot in."
""
Luke looked at it carefully once and said.
"What is the third layer?"
,
With his strength, he was no match for the insect swarm on the second level, so naturally he wanted to know what the third level was.
Silver Star, mimicking Genelec, spread his hands and said in a very straightforward manner.
"I don't know what the third floor is either."
"Skulls rot my flesh, swarms of insects gnaw at my bones."
"And what was in the heart of the dark forest, the thing that caused me fatal harm, I don't know what it was..."
