Survival at Sea: I Became Number One by Growing Mushrooms

So it's an active skill? Then it's alright. Human reactions have limits, so she has a chance.

Xu Jiawei had Rainbow follow behind the first-place runner, slowing down their pace so that the two were less than 2 meters apart.

Seeing that Xu Jiawei had no intention of catching up, the man sneered, "Heh, you're smart to know what's good for you."

Xu Jiawei's expression was unreadable; she simply sat calmly at the bow of the boat, seemingly having given up.

Xu Jiawei had just hinted at a solution to Rainbow, and now she was maintaining a safe distance from the ship ahead, waiting for her opportunity.

She's definitely going to get this custom-made equipment.

The two continued on their way peacefully. Half an hour later, Xu Jiawei saw the finish line. The man, unable to hide his excitement, silently quickened his pace.

Gradually, he distanced himself from Xu Jiawei.

Watching Xu Jiawei getting further and further away from him, the man smiled dismissively, thinking she was smart enough to know her place, and then focused all his attention on the finish line.

When he was just a few meters from the finish line, Xu Jiawei immediately signaled to Rainbow, "Now!"

Rainbow lifted the boat and threw it out with all her might.

The man was still basking in the joy of winning first place when he heard a whooshing sound. Before he knew what was happening, a huge black shadow sped past him and crossed the finish line, and he followed closely behind.

[Ding! Congratulations to the player for winning second place in the competition! You have received 2 Golden Treasure Chests. Keep up the good work!]

The man's eyes widened in disbelief. How could this be!

He immediately turned his gaze to the first place winner, the little girl he had looked down on. What had she done?

The man glanced at the giant mushroom behind him, which was still in a throwing posture, and immediately realized what had happened.

He then launched into a tirade of profanities, yelling, "You bitch, you bastard, how dare you play me for a fool! I'll make you pay!"

As he spoke, the man unleashed his talent, this time aimed at Xu Jiawei herself, but nothing happened.

The man became even more defensive, cursing as he unleashed his talent again. Fortunately, Xu Jiawei had the Lucky Blessing equipment, so if he had used it on her directly, it would have had no effect.

He succeeded because he unleashed his talent on the rainbow, the ship, and even himself.

Hearing the man's increasingly vile insults, Xu Jiawei's face turned cold. The system only said that she couldn't kill people during the competition, but now that the competition was over, she should be able to kill people, right?

Since that talent had no effect on her, Xu Jiawei directly unleashed her skill to attack. The man seemed to only then realize what was happening, and cold sweat immediately poured down his back.

Oh no, the match is over, and this woman is trying to kill me.

He activated his luck boost and narrowly dodged the attack.

Every subsequent attack was miraculously dodged; this person's talent was somewhat similar to Lin Jiaqi's.

However, this thing can only be released actively, so why not just launch a sneak attack?

Xu Jiawei attacked from the front, while the red earthworm had already circled behind the man and was directly attacking his chest.

Hearing the whooshing sound, the man's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately dodged to the side. However, he was a little too slow, and a red earthworm pierced his shoulder.

The man's eyes widened in fury as he stared at the red earthworm that had pierced through his shoulder. He let out a painful howl and then cursed, "You little beast, I'll kill you!" With that, he unleashed his talent on the red earthworm.

The red earthworm was sucking blood with great enthusiasm when Xu Jiawei forcibly retrieved it from the pet backpack just before the man could unleash his skill.

The red earthworm was still a little dazed, expressing its dissatisfaction in the pet backpack. However, the man's talent was also effective on the red earthworm, and Xu Jiawei took it back for its own good.

However, the red earthworm is brainless and cannot be explained to.

The man's reaction was slowed considerably by the blow from the red earthworm. Because the bleeding had not stopped, blood continued to flow, and he lost too much blood, his face grew paler and paler, his head began to spin, and his movements became slower and slower.

He tried countless times to take out the recovery potion, but Xu Jiawei interrupted him each time. Xu Jiawei did it on purpose; she just didn't want him to drink the potion to recover.

The man's expression turned sinister, preparing for a desperate fight: "You forced me to do this!"

"Lucky Sacrifice!" the man shouted, and his attributes increased tenfold. His attack power reached an astonishing 500, and his health also reached 590.

If he were hit, Xu Jiawei's golden body would be activated, but his strange luck would disappear, making it impossible for him to dodge Xu Jiawei's attack.

His speed was also very fast, and Xu Jiawei couldn't see him at all. However, without that kind of luck, everything would be fine. Xu Jiawei was best at fighting tanky enemies.

Xu Jiawei took out more than a dozen Destruction Mushrooms and took a punch from the man head-on. Taking advantage of the moment, Xu Jiawei grabbed the man's arm, restrained him, and immediately released the Destruction Mushrooms.

With several loud bangs, several mushroom clouds rose up, and the man and his ship were blown to pieces. Xu Jiawei was still the same as before, without any damage to her body.

Liu Jinwei, who had just crossed the finish line, looked at Xu Jiawei with admiration. She was ruthless, directly detonating a bomb. No wonder she was so strong; there was a reason for it. He wasn't envious or jealous at all.

After Liu Jinwei arrived, he became the second since the second person had died.

Xu Jiawei, whose boat had shattered into pieces, fell into the sea. She quickly retrieved the man's backpack and storage box. This man was so lucky; he must have some good stuff.

Unfortunately, the ship shattered, and very little material was extracted from it.

Xu Jiawei climbed back onto her boat, wondering if the mutated human dared to rush towards the finish line. If he did, she could just take care of him too.

"Thank you. I got second place because of you. I'm on server 109. Let's add each other as cross-server friends. You can contact me if you need anything in the future." Liu Jinwei smiled sincerely.

"Do you have a feature to add friends across servers?" Xu Jiawei asked.

"Well, it's a one-time use, which is a bit of a shame," Liu Jinwei said with some regret. After saying that, he took out a blank sheet of paper to use, and Xu Jiawei quickly received a friend request.

After Xu Jiawei clicked "agree," she discovered that the person's nickname was "Guardian Angel."

Xu Jiawei looked at the name with horror, then at the middle-aged, old-fashioned man in front of her, and simply couldn't connect the name with the person in front of her.

Seemingly knowing what Xu Jiawei was thinking, Liu Jinwei said, "This is my daughter's favorite thing. It's a pity that she passed away from illness a month before entering the game system. If she could have held on for another month, she might not have died when she entered the game." As he spoke, Liu Jinwei's eyes reddened.

Xu Jiawei also fell silent, and finally only said dryly, "Please accept my condolences."

Liu Jinwei shook his head and then stopped talking, seemingly unwilling to continue the topic.

The third place finally arrived, but it wasn't the mutated human who came; it was the beautiful woman who had been in ninth place. Unexpectedly, she surpassed everyone before her to take third place.

The beautiful woman was also somewhat surprised, seemingly not expecting to get third place.
