Wen Wen's voice was low and intermittent, as if each word was squeezed out from between her teeth:

"They hit me, kicked me, and slapped my face with their phones. Then they put a phone in front of me; it was Fu Yuheng's wife. She said I had touched her things and that she was going to teach me a lesson. She also warned me never to appear in front of Fu Yuheng again."

After saying that, the group left.

She paused, as if recalling something terrifying: "I wanted to call the police, to tell Fu Yuheng. But before I could dial, there was a sound at the door."

"Someone came to my house again. I was too scared to open the door, but it seemed like he had a key. He opened the door from the outside and rushed in. He was so fast that before I could even see his face, he covered my mouth and grabbed my neck."

"I struggled to break free. I thought he was with that group of people from before. I smashed things and ran into the house."

"But he caught up with me, grabbed my hair, and stabbed me with a knife. I fell to the ground and saw him take out his phone and say into it, 'This is okay, we can proceed to the next step.' Then he hung up and took my phone. I don't know what he did... I don't know..."

Xiao Jin's face scrunched up as she listened, but she didn't say a word.

Qiu An asked, "Was that person wearing a gray coat and a black hat?"

Wen Wen nodded and said, "That man had a faint scar on the left side of his face, dark skin, was about 176 cm tall, and was wearing black gloves."

Wen Wen paused for a moment, then said uncertainly, "I remember when he rushed over, I grabbed an ornament from the table and hit him... I think I scratched his neck."

Qiu An raised an eyebrow slightly. "Where is that ornament? Have the police found it?"

Wen Wen said, "That ornament rolled under the sofa; there should be his blood on it."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Jin immediately turned around and ran back to the living room, leaning against the sofa and reaching her little arm in to feel around for a long time.

When I took it out again, I had a heavy bronze ornament in my hand. There were dark red marks on the edge of the ornament, and it had dried out a bit.

Xiao Jin's eyes lit up. Holding the ornament, she came to Qiu An and said, "Qiuqiu, I found it!"

She said, "This has that bad guy's blood on it."

Qiu An glanced at the ornament, then at Wen Wen, who had fallen completely silent.

He raised his hand and tucked his tail in. Wenwen fell to the ground with a "thud," as if all her strength had been drained away.

Qiu An looked down at her and said, "It's no use staying here now. Go downstairs and line up. Being reborn into a better family in your next life is better than anything else."

Wen Wen hung her head, her voice hoarse and weary: "Do you think I don't want to leave? I'm dead, I can't do anything. I'm trapped in this wretched thing, I can't even get out of this room!"

As she spoke, the two wax puppets clenched their tiny hands tightly, and said indignantly, "I want to leave too, but I can't!"

Upon hearing this, Xiao Jin walked over, squatted down in front of Wen Wen, clasped her hands together, closed her eyes, and recited a very short incantation.

When she opened her eyes again, she pointed her index finger at the top of the wax doll's head and whispered, "Come out."

The wax figure cracked without a flame, and a wisp of pale white soul floated out from the crack, gradually revealing Wen Wen's figure in mid-air.

Wen Wen looked down at her hands, then at the two broken pieces of wax shell on the ground, and was momentarily at a loss.

"Tonight, spirit messengers will come to take you away," Xiao Jin told her. "Follow them, don't look back, and you'll get to where you're meant to be."

Wenwen stopped yelling venomously as before.

She simply looked at Xiao Jin quietly, her eyes filled with complex emotions. After a long while, she finally let out a very soft "hmm".

Looking at the cracked wax doll on the ground, Xiao Jin asked curiously, "Sister, who made this wax doll for you?"

Wen Wen was silent for a few seconds before saying, "Wasana. A Thai spiritual medium. Wu Ling introduced me to her. She charged me 100,000 yuan, saying it would work in twelve hours and make people fall in love with me."

She gave a wry, chilling smile. "And what happened? I died just a few days later."

Qiu An stood at the door, arms crossed, and said calmly:

"Because what you sought wasn't a true match, but something you forced. What you force will eventually have to be repaid."

"That's why you were trapped inside this thing after you died."

"If we hadn't come to find you, you would have been trapped inside the wax figure forever, unable to be reincarnated."

Wen Wen looked up at Qiu An in astonishment, speechless.

Finally, she bit her lip, slowly floated up, bypassed the two of them, and drifted to another room.

Xiao Jin picked up the cracked wax figure from the ground, put it in the black box, gathered the two wax figures together, closed the lid, and hugged it to her chest. She also picked up the ornament. Just as she was about to leave, Qiu An stopped her.

"Don't take anything with you," Qiu An said.

Xiao Jin looked up in confusion.

"These are all evidence. If we take them out and it's discovered that they were obtained illegally, then the evidence will be useless," Qiu An said calmly. "It's only effective if the police discover it themselves."

"How can we let the police find out?" Xiao Jin's dark, grape-like eyes sparkled with curiosity.

Qiu An glanced down at her, but didn't answer immediately. Instead, he reached out and pinched Xiao Jin's cheek, teasingly saying, "You came here as a little white dumpling, but now you've turned grayish."

"Yun Zi'ang will start nagging again when he sees this."

Xiao Jin crawled under the bed and rubbed her face with dust.

"Ah, is Xiao Jin dirty?" Xiao Jin blinked and reached out to wipe her face, only to find that there was something on both her left and right hands.

Her eyes darted around, and with a mischievous glint in her eye, she pounced into Qiu An's arms, burying her face in his clothes and nuzzling him like a puppy. Then she looked up at Qiu An and smiled:

"It's clean now!"

Qiu An's lips twitched twice. "Who told you to wipe it on my clothes?"

Xiao Jin chuckled, "You still haven't told Xiao Jin how to get the police to find out."

She pleaded sweetly, "Tell Xiaojin, please."

Qiu An, perhaps coaxed by Xiao Jin, pinched Xiao Jin's cheek and said, "I'll help you this once."

He took the ornament from Xiao Jin's hand, flicked it with his fingertip, and a wisp of demonic energy landed on the glove, erasing all the extremely subtle marks and leaving only its original appearance.

He then went under the living room sofa and pushed the ornament into the corner under the sofa.

After doing all this, Qiu An turned and walked towards the door, saying without looking back, "Let's go. If we stay any longer, it will be broad daylight."

"Okay!" Xiao Jin replied.

The two walked to the door.

Qiu An paused for a moment, then cast a spell to erase all traces of them from the moment they entered until they left.

Then, following the same method of entering, they went out again.

The door lock was closed, the seal was reapplied, and the hallway was as quiet as ever.

After leaving the residential area, Xiao Jin climbed into the back seat of the car, fastened her seatbelt, and looked up at Qiu An:

"An'an, did you already know what the killer looked like? When you asked your sister just now, you told her before she did."

Qiu An did not hide anything.

He said as he walked:

"I came here last night and found that someone had bought the dashcam of the car that was facing the entrance of the building in advance for 100,000 yuan."

"The buyer was just like Wenwen described, wearing a gray coat and a black hat."

Qiu An got into the car, fastened his seatbelt, and frowned slightly as he recalled what Wen Wen had said. "The two groups of people she mentioned who came in one after the other shouldn't have been together."

He was somewhat confused as he pondered the rumors circulating in the industry.

According to Wen Wen, the real killer who murdered her was probably not Fu Yuheng's wife.

If Fu Yuheng wanted to kill her, he wouldn't have specifically sent someone to threaten her.

really weird.

"Do they have other enemies?"

Xiao Jin sat down and took the wax figure out of the box again, examining it curiously and muttering, "What an interesting little thing! I've never seen one like it before."

Upon hearing this, Qiu An looked up and glanced at Xiao Jin through the rearview mirror.

Xiao Jin was holding the wax figure and trying to put it in her mouth.

"Oh no!!" Qiu An exclaimed in surprise.

Xiao Jin was startled and looked at Qiu An with a blank expression.

The next second, a fluffy fox tail suddenly appeared, wrapped around the wax puppet in Xiao Jin's hand like a rope, and took it away.

Qiu An couldn't help but scold, "Why do you put everything in your mouth?"

"Can't we eat it?"

Xiao Jin pouted in disappointment; it looked so soft and delicious!

But her sadness lasted less than two seconds before she was drawn to Qiu An's large tail.

Its shiny black eyes swayed along with its tail.

"This is wax, of course you can't eat it!"

While Qiu An was speaking, Xiao Jin suddenly pounced on him and hugged his tail, burying her chubby cheeks completely in the fluffy tail.

"Wow! Wow! It's so soft!" Xiao Jin squinted her eyes comfortably and rubbed against it. "Xiao Jin likes it!"

"Don't touch my tail!" Qiu An clicked her tongue, shook off Xiao Jin, and tossed her tail to the other side.

Who knew that Xiao Jin, like a little puppy, would whine and follow her over, then hug her.

Qiu An narrowed his eyes slightly, deliberately teasing Xiao Jin, and swung his tail again.

The two of them actually started playing around in the car.

But after playing for a short while, Qiu An suddenly realized that he had become so childish.

He coughed lightly and abruptly retracted his tail.

The tail suddenly disappeared, and the wax puppet fell onto the seat. Xiao Jin said in a daze, "Ah, the tail is gone."

"Stop fooling around," Qiu An said with a serious expression. "It's time to send you back."

"Sit still."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Jin immediately sat up obediently.

As Qiu An started the car, he said, "I'll take you to change your clothes first, then I'll take you back to the hospital."

"You're all dirty. People might think I've been bullying you."

"Okay~" Xiao Jin replied in her childish voice.
