Yun Zhengbang and Yun Mingyuan looked over at the same time.

Yun Mingyi also turned his wheelchair and looked at the jade Guanyin statue.

Xiao Jin walked over, looked up at the jade statue, and said softly, "It's bad. It can make people sick and give them nightmares."

She turned to look at Yun Zhengbang, "This was sent by that wicked old man. He didn't send Guanyin; he sent something dirty."

The air seemed to cool down in an instant.

Yun Mingyuan's face darkened.

Xiao Jin suddenly moved a small round stool from the side, stepped on it, and reached out to reach the jade Guanyin statue.

Just as Yun Mingyuan was about to stop him, Kong Ji gently pressed his arm and whispered, "Let her do it."

Xiao Jin lifted the jade Guanyin down, took two steps back, then raised it high and slammed it onto the floor tiles with a "bang".

The sound of jade shattering was crisp and loud.

The jade shattered, and several pieces slid all the way to Yun Mingyi's wheelchair.

When everyone looked down, they saw that a small, blackish bone, about two inches long, was embedded in the cracked jade Guanyin base.

The bone, of unknown animal origin, was polished to a shine with sandpaper and inscribed with extremely fine runes using cinnabar and ink.

Once the jade shell shattered, it rolled out of the broken jade like a living thing, its entire body enveloped in a layer of black mist that was almost invisible to the naked eye.

Kong Ji was the first to change his expression.

He stepped forward, squatted down, and without touching it directly, stared at it for a moment, his voice slightly deep: "This is Yin bone. It is taken from a fetus or infant that died at the most Yin time, nourished with incantations, and then soaked in filthy blood. The evil energy is sealed within the bone, and it is wrapped in beautiful jade on the outside so that the evil energy will not dissipate. Whoever places it in their bedroom or a place they often stay will, at best, be plagued by nightmares, and at worst, suffer from weakened blood and qi, and not long for life."

Kong Zheng also recognized it: "This is from the same lineage as the 'Hidden Evil in Yin Bones' written in Master's book. It's an evil technique that was introduced from Southeast Asia in the early years."

Xiao Jin squatted next to that section of scrotum, her little face tense.

She looked up at Yun Zhengbang, then at Yun Mingyuan, and as if she had mustered a lot of courage, said, "This thing is the same as the ones buried outside the Yun family villa."

Her voice wasn't loud, but her words, once inside the room, were like a stone thrown into a deep pool.

Yun Zhengbang suddenly stood up, almost knocking over his cane.

He stared at Xiao Jin, his voice changing: "What did you say? It's...it's the same?"

Yun Mingyuan had already taken a step in front of Xiao Jin: "Xiao Jin, say it again."

Xiao Jin was startled by Yun Mingyuan's expression, but she didn't flinch. Instead, she put her hands behind her back and repeated earnestly, "They are the same."

"Made by one person."

Yun Mingyuan's expression was beyond just looking ugly.

He slowly straightened up and exchanged a glance with Yun Mingyi.

Yun Mingyi didn't speak, but a hint of coldness appeared on his usually calm and composed face.

This jade Guanyin was a gift from Zhou Kun.

Yun Zhengbang swayed slightly.

Yun Mingyuan and Yun Mingyue rushed forward to support him. But Yun Zhengbang did not fall; he simply slowly raised his hand and covered his chest.

His fingers were trembling, and his breathing became shallow and rapid.

He's not confused. Everything that happened tonight has come together.

Zhou Kun's statement, "I will get it back little by little," was not just said in anger.

He had made his move outside the Yun family ancestral home long ago. It was he who brought trouble upon himself, and his children and grandchildren nearly suffered as a result.

"It's Zhou Kun..." Yun Zhengbang's voice seemed to be squeezed out of his throat, "It's me... who brought disaster upon the family."

He became increasingly agitated as he spoke, and his face gradually turned ashen.

Yun Mingyuan shouted sternly, "Call a doctor!"

Xiao Jin acted as if she hadn't heard anything.

She walked over and rummaged through Yun Zhengbang's pocket to find the small sachet she had made herself. She ran up to Yun Zhengbang, stood on tiptoe, and held the sachet under his nose.

Just like she did when she first stepped into the Yun family home.

This time, however, no one stopped her.

Yun Zhengbang looked down at Xiao Jin, at her eyes that were so bright they were heartbreaking.

The slightly bitter medicinal aroma seeped into his throat, and surprisingly, it helped him catch his breath. He closed his eyes, his chest heaving violently a few times before finally calming down.

Kong Ji stood aside, watching this scene, and said softly, "This sachet contains calming herbs; their fragrance enters the lungs and can soothe the mind and calm the nerves. Xiao Jin, you did the right thing."

Xiao Jin didn't speak, but held up the sachet, tilted her head back, and stared intently at Yun Zhengbang.

As Yun Zhengbang's complexion gradually improved, she whispered, "Zhengbang, don't be afraid. Xiaojin will find all these bad guys, leaving none behind."

Yun Zhengbang looked down at her, his chest heaving, but his expression remained composed.

He reached out and gathered her small hand, along with the sachet, into his palm, and squeezed it tightly.

He didn't speak, but the force he exerted was so strong that Xiao Jin felt Yun Zhengbang wanted to say something to her.

"Zheng Bang, don't be afraid, Xiao Jin is here." She repeated it softly again.

Kong Ji stood to the side, glanced at Yun Mingyuan and Yun Mingyi's expressions, and then tactfully gave Kong Zheng a wink.

He stepped forward and bowed slightly to Yun Zhengbang:

"Master Yun, it's a birthday banquet today, so we shouldn't disturb you any longer. Please rest, and we can discuss the matter another day."

Kong Ji glanced at Xiao Jin again, said nothing, just nodded slightly to her, and then left with Kong Zheng.

The door closed behind them, and the hall became much quieter.

Yun Mingyuan then spoke in a deep voice, without the slightest hesitation: "It was Zhou Kun. He was the one who gave me that jade Guanyin statue."

Sitting in his wheelchair, Yun Mingyi tapped his fingers lightly on the armrest and continued, "Those things that happened in the business world before, and the things that happened in the resort area, were also orchestrated by Zhou Kai of Qicheng Real Estate. Looking back now, I can find a reason for it."

"Qicheng?" Yun Mingyuan frowned. "The one Zhou Kai owns?"

"Yes," Yun Mingyi said. "On the surface, it's a legitimate real estate company, but behind the scenes, it's probably involved in all sorts of shady dealings. His relationship with Zhou Kun isn't simple."

The two of them talked back and forth, stringing together all the strange clues that had been lurking over the past few days like beads on a string.

Yun Mingyuan's expression grew increasingly grim. Just as he was about to say something, Xiao Jin suddenly tugged at his sleeve, looked up at him, and said urgently, "We need to find the person who makes these things first. That guy who makes Yin bones is very powerful and very evil. Even worse than that wicked old man. If we don't find him, more people will be harmed."

Yun Mingyuan looked down at her and remained silent for a moment.

Yun Zhengbang then slowly sat back in his chair, leaned against the backrest, and closed his eyes briefly. When he opened them again, the wavering in his eyes was gone.

He leaned on his cane and said, word by word, "Xiao Jin is right. Now that we know it's Zhou Kun, we should follow this lead and investigate thoroughly. We must uproot him completely."

After he finished speaking, as if he had used up all his strength, he held his forehead, waved to the crowd, and said, "I'm tired. You can all go out first. Let me have some peace and quiet."

Xiao Jin walked to his knees, stood on tiptoe, put the sachet back into his pocket, and patted it with her little hand.

She said, "Zhengbang, get some rest. Xiaojin will bring you some soup later."

Then she turned around and followed Yun Mingyuan and Yun Mingyi out of the room, looking back every few steps.

After the door closed, the corridor was so quiet that faint music could be heard coming from the banquet hall in the distance.

On the other side, after Kong Ji and Kong Zheng left the side hall, they did not rush to leave, but went to the banquet hall instead.

Their main purpose for this trip is to visit Xiao Jin, so they won't leave so easily.

Kong Ji went to rest in the courtyard because he found it noisy, while Kong Zheng went to the banquet to get something for his master to eat. However, not long after he entered, Yun Ziang noticed him.

Yun Ziang was taken aback for a moment, then his eyes lit up. He carried the juice over and looked Kong Zheng up and down.

"What are you doing here? Your master is here too? So, you've come... to celebrate my grandfather's birthday?"

He raised an eyebrow. "Your business scope is quite broad."

Kong Zheng didn't take his joke seriously; instead, his expression became more serious: "You've come at the right time. I have some questions for you."

"I've been wanting to get to the bottom of what happened in that old building in Dachun City last time." He paused, looking directly into Yun Zi'ang's eyes. "How exactly were those zombies created? And how did you find that place?"

Yun Zi'ang's smile faded somewhat.

He recalled the night Yuan died with blood flowing from all seven orifices before his eyes, and the corpse wrapped in plastic sheeting in the two freezers; a chill still ran down his spine.

He took a sip of juice and mumbled:

"It's a long story. Anyway, it wasn't anything good. They didn't catch the person who was making corpses, they only caught the person who was guarding the corpses."

"If you want to arrest him, I can give you some information."

Kong Zheng, however, said, "We must capture him!"

Yun Ziang's eyes flashed, a hint of surprise and interest in them.

"Must?" It sounds like an empty mission. But who gave him that mission?

Yun Ziang continued, "However, the person who was guarding the corpse was cursed; he died as soon as he uttered the name."

Kong Zheng's brow twitched: "Name? What name?"

"Just the word 'Zhuang,' the rest wasn't said."

Seeing his expression, Yun Zi'ang changed the subject, lowering his voice to probe, "There were more than a dozen of you that night, well-trained and with a clear division of labor. Kong Zheng, tell me the truth, what kind of organization are you? Who's behind you?"

Kong Zheng did not answer immediately.

He looked at Yun Ziang quietly for two seconds, then said, "It's a place that specializes in handling these kinds of things. There aren't many people, but there's a lot to manage."

"There are some things that people are unwilling or unable to do, so we will handle them."

"So how do you make a living?" Yun Zi'ang asked bluntly. "Who gives you funding? It can't be charity donations, can it?"

Kong Zheng paused slightly at his question, then gave a faint smile: "You don't need to know so much. You just need to know that we won't harm you, nor will we harm Xiao Jin."

He paused, seemingly lost in thought, and said:

"We're investigating some of the leads as well. I'm sure Xiaojin is smart enough to have figured it out too, and maybe she's investigating as well."

Otherwise, how can we explain that Xiao Jin's actions overlapped with their planned actions several times?

"Huh?" Yun Zi'ang didn't understand.

Is his great-aunt also investigating? What is she investigating?

His great-aunt has been attending kindergarten diligently lately, hasn't she?
