Full-Time Magister: My Talent is Pretty Good

Chapter 15 Wind Element Breakthrough, Becoming a Hunter

And just like that, the first semester of my first year of high school ended amidst cultivation and campus life. There were no special assessment requirements, and summer vacation officially began.

After packing her luggage and making a phone call home, Lu Jin'an sat on the bed and started playing on her phone. Zhao Kunsan and Wang Jinghua had already left.

There were only him and Mu Bai, who was packing his luggage, in the dormitory.

Mu Bai picked up a well-fitting garment, folded it neatly, and stuffed it into his suitcase. He looked at the school badge hanging on Lu Jin'an's chest, which already had five stars lit up, and said with some surprise.

"You've already mastered five stars?"

"Yeah, I've been feeling pretty good lately, just lucky."

Lu Jin'an answered without batting an eye, revealing that he had always hidden his true abilities well, and that he had always presented himself as a gifted student.

After all, they were all the same age, so he didn't intend to use a lower-dimensional attack.

Mu Bai remained silent for a while. His school badge had four stars, but there was still a long way to go before he could light up the fifth one.

You should know that he only got to this point with the help of the Mu family's ice-type resources, but he didn't expect that his roommate had already broken through quietly.

"You have quite a bit of talent."

The voice wasn't loud, but the fact that it came from Mu Bai's mouth was a form of recognition.

Lu Jin'an laughed. If his true cultivation level were exposed, Mu Bai would be scared to death. The act of pretending to be weak while actually being strong is really good.

"Your talent is not bad either, and you have the backing of a powerful family like the Mu family. The more you cultivate, the more money you will spend. In the end, I might not even be as good as you."

Lu Jin'an casually remarked, "It's half true, half false."

It's certainly advantageous to be from a powerful family, but barring any unforeseen circumstances, it's virtually impossible for Mu Bai to surpass him.

In Lu Jin'an's mind, it seemed that no one could match his cultivation speed, not even the protagonist Mo Fan, let alone others.

Mu Bai was still young, only fifteen or sixteen years old. The Mu family had always been his source of confidence, so he found Lu Jin'an's words quite reasonable.

A hint of envy was replaced by a sense of感慨 (gǎnkǎi, a complex feeling of mixed emotions, often including regret or apprehension). Yes, without the support of a powerful family, cultivation would become increasingly difficult.

"Maybe. I'm off now. See you after school."

"Alright, take care."

Lu Jin'an made a joke, waved his hand, and watched the figure with blue-black hair slowly leave. The corner of his mouth curled up.

The two got along quite well this semester and were considered ordinary friends. He thought Mu Bai was actually a decent person. He looked aloof on the outside, but he was actually thoughtful, generous, and good to his friends.

Lu Jin'an hadn't been in the dormitory for long when she received a phone call from Lu Tianming.

It was time to go home. He glanced at the cleaned dormitory, locked the door, picked up his luggage, and left the dormitory building.

Lu Tianming's car was parked at the school gate. Lu Jin'an saw it as soon as he came out. He waved, opened the trunk which had been unlocked in advance, put his luggage in, and then sat down in the passenger seat.

"Mmm, iced drinks are still the best."

He took the Coke from Lu Tianming, opened the can, poured it into his mouth with a "glug glug" sound, and sighed.

Looking at the young man who had grown to be almost as tall as him, Lu Tianming felt a pang of emotion; in the blink of an eye, he had grown into such a big man.

The engine was started, the wheels rolled, and the black sedan drove home.

"How's school life been lately? How far have you progressed in your spiritual practice?"

Lu Tianming asked casually while driving.

"It's pretty good. The people are all nice. As for cultivation, I should be able to reach the third level of the initial stage this summer."

Lu Jin'an propped her face up with one hand, looked out the window at the scenery along the way, and answered casually.

Lu Tianming, a man with a perpetually stern face, outwardly pretended nothing was amiss, but inwardly he was screaming, "Fuck you! It's too damn fast!"

Although I knew that Lu Jin'an was talented and his cultivation progress would be good, I didn't expect him to be so fast!

His son is only 16 years old this year! A 16-year-old who has already completed the initial stage of cultivation, I can't even imagine what level he will reach in the future.

I remember the Mu family had a genius named Mu Linxue before, who was about the same age as his son. She probably didn't have this level of cultivation either.

……

Sky Blue Magic High School wasn't far from Lu Jin'an's home, and the two arrived quickly.

Lu Jin'an then saw Li Yu cooking and Lu Xiaoyan watching TV while leaning on the sofa.

"Brother, Dad, you're back."

Lu Xiaoyan naturally saw Lu Jin'an and Lu Tianming as well, greeted them, and then looked away to continue watching TV.

My brother and dad are not as important as "Balala the Fairies and Demons". If we don't watch it now, it will be over soon.

……

The family had a simple meal, and Lu Jin'an watched TV with his younger sister for a while before returning to his room.

He continued his cultivation, hoping to see if he could break through to the third stage of the wind element before the holiday ended.

When you go to accept a mission, you'll have the confidence to run away if you encounter something you can't beat. Wind Track - Shadow Walk is a very strong survival skill.

Combined with his other wind-type skills, his speed is probably even faster than that of a warrior-level character.

As the holiday passed, his cultivation progressed little by little. About two weeks before the start of the new semester, his wind element successfully broke through to the third level of the initial stage.

He shared this joy with his family.

Li Yu and Lu Tianming were overjoyed and impressed by their son's talent.

What's remarkable is that one of them is at the beginner level three and the other is at the intermediate level one, yet they were caught up by their own son, who had only awakened a little over a year ago.

As for the joy, need I say more? It wasn't an outsider who did this, it was their son. What parent doesn't want their child to succeed?

Lu Xiaoyan was simply happy, or as she put it, she was just blissfully ecstatic. Her brother's cultivation had increased, so wouldn't it be even faster to ride along with him?

Sure enough, the next day Lu Jin'an was dragged away by Lu Xiaoyan to be her slave, giving her a real taste of being tossed around by the wind.

Lu Jin'an, of course, did not forget his long-standing growth plan. After a few days of familiarizing himself with his magic, he disguised himself and went to register.

Upon arriving at the Hunter's Alliance, Lu Jin'an looked around and felt a sense of wonder. There were many people around, and although he didn't know their cultivation levels, he could still sense that most of them had magical energy fluctuations.

With the exception of a few, almost everyone here is a mage.

"Hello, sir, is there anything I can help you with?"

The person speaking was a young girl at the front desk. She was a receptionist here and thought Lu Jin'an was in some kind of trouble because she saw him looking around.

"I'd like to apply for a Hunter's Badge. What do I need to show?"

Lu Jin'an was very close to the young lady who was speaking, so he naturally knew that she was asking him a question, and then he stated his needs.

The voice was very young. The receptionist was slightly taken aback, glanced at Lu Jin'an who was wearing sunglasses and had her face covered, but didn't say anything. Work comes first, after all.

"Don't worry, sir. You don't need any identification. Just tell me your name, age, and cultivation level, and I'll take care of the rest."
