Great Voyage: My Summoned Creatures Can Level Up While Idle
Chapter 13 Mutant Polar Bear Cub
Following behind the skeleton soldier Ah Dai, Luo Ya walked more than ten miles along the rugged mountain path, finally arriving at a steep cliff.
The vegetation in the forest grew increasingly lush, and the air was filled with the restless roars of beasts.
Bypassing the bushes, in front of an open space, various large wild animals paced back and forth restlessly.
Inside, there were wild boars with thick tusks, agile lynxes, striped tigers, packs of gray wolves, giant pythons as thick as buckets, and black bears covered in thick fur, all sorts of creatures roaming around.
They frequently looked up at the beast den at the top of the cliff, their eyes filled with longing, yet they never dared to actually step onto the cliff.
These beasts would occasionally let out a low, intimidating roar, deterring other animals from approaching.
Ah-Dai's arrival did not scare them away.
When Ah-Dai tried to step onto the cliff, he was immediately met with hostility and attacks from these wild beasts.
Ah Dai showed no sign of backing down. He swung his long sword with his skeletal arm, and a burst of white combat skill light suddenly erupted as a powerful slash came crashing down.
The first charging adult wild boar had no time to dodge; its hard skull and torso were split in two, and warm blood sprayed all over the ground.
The striped tiger behind him lunged and attacked Ah Dai's nape.
Ah Dai slightly turned his head and ducked, narrowly avoiding the sharp claws. He then swung his sword horizontally, and the sharp bone blade directly cleaved open the tiger's chest and abdomen, with blood and internal organs spilling onto the ground.
Luo Ya climbed onto the branches of a tall, ancient tree, steadied himself, drew his short-barreled musket from his waist, and pulled the trigger to fire lead bullets to disrupt the attacking wolf pack.
Ah-Dai charged into the wolf pack, unleashing a bloody storm.
There were no magical beasts among this group of wild animals; they were just large in size. They were being slaughtered unilaterally by Ah Dai.
A strong, pungent smell of blood quickly filled the entire open space.
The remaining wild beasts finally regained their senses; their eyes were filled with fear as they turned and fled into the forest.
After the battle, Roya jumped down from the tree. He was curious about what was on the cliff that attracted so many wild beasts.
Climbing up the rugged cliff, he saw a beast's den ahead.
A black bear carcass lay at the entrance of the cave, its body covered with numerous wounds—bites, lacerations, and penetrating wounds—caused by the wild animals that had inhabited the clearing.
Luo Ya withdrew his gaze, stepped over the black bear carcass, and entered the cave.
The beast's den wasn't deep, only seven or eight meters. It was filled with the pungent smell of wild animals and was dimly lit.
Deep within the cave, there is a nest made of licorice, dead branches, bark, and moss.
In the center of the den, curled up in a ball of snow-white fur, round and plump, looking like a soft and sticky glutinous rice ball, the fluffy white fur swayed gently with the slightest movement, revealing it to be a polar bear cub.
This should have been a black bear cub, but last night's thunderstorm triggered a magical upheaval, causing it to mutate into a magical beast with white fur. It is estimated that it also has other special abilities.
"Waaaaah~"
Upon smelling the extra scent in the air, the mutated polar bear cub let out a tender cry.
It hadn't opened its eyes yet and could only rely on its nose to sniff the air for scent.
Luo Ya finally understood why the group of wild beasts had gathered together and refused to disperse.
They wanted to devour the flesh and blood of this monster cub to make themselves stronger. The black bear at the cave entrance was probably the mother beast. It tried to drive away the pack of wild beasts but was instead severely injured by them and finally collapsed at the cave entrance.
Without its mother to feed it, this mutated polar bear cub was already starving.
"Come with me." Roya picked up the polar bear cub, his hands were a little numb, but he didn't care.
Polar bear cubs look similar to puppy cubs.
"Waaah~" The polar bear cub kept licking Roya's palm, wanting food.
Luo Ya had jerky and water in his backpack, but the polar bear cub was too young to eat meat, and couldn't even digest minced meat.
He carried the polar bear cub to the cave entrance, saw the mother bear's carcass lying on the ground, and couldn't help but sigh. He simply told Ah-Dai to dig a hole and bury it.
Ah-Dai raised his bone knife, which was covered in a layer of white light, and unleashed a powerful cleaving strike, slamming it into the ground with all his might, creating a large crater with a loud boom.
Repeating this process twice, they carved out a large pit large enough to hold the mother beast's carcass.
After burying the mother bear, Roya carried the polar bear cub and hurried back to White Sand Town.
There were no unexpected events on the way. After Roya left, some wild animals began to enjoy a feast in the clearing on the cliff.
Back in town, Roya went to the market and spent ten copper coins to buy a can of freshly squeezed goat milk.
Back home, I fetched a plate and let the polar bear cub lick it slowly.
The polar bear cub first cautiously licked the goat's milk, then immediately began to lick it greedily.
Just then, Sophia's voice rang out from outside the door: "Oh! Roya, you're back so early?"
Sophia, who lived next door, heard noises coming from Roya's house and came over to check. She thought Roya wouldn't be back until evening.
"We're lucky to have encountered a mutated monster cub," Roya replied with a chuckle.
Sophia spotted the fluffy polar bear cub immediately, her eyes lighting up. "So cute!"
As Sophia approached, the polar bear cub, sensing the scent of a stranger, became somewhat nervous and tried to snuggle into Roya's arms, following his scent.
Sophia did nothing rude; she simply patted the polar bear cub's head.
"Please help me see what abilities it has," Roya requested.
Although he had some suspicions, he still let Sophia take a look.
After Sophia activated her supernatural abilities, she looked at Roya with envy and said, "You're really lucky."
"How so?"
"It was blessed by lightning and mutated to have the ability to control lightning," Sophia exclaimed.
Lightning is the most violent elemental force in nature, and any magical beast that can control lightning possesses considerable potential and strength.
Luo Ya nodded. When he picked up the polar bear cub, he felt a tingling sensation in his palm, which was indeed related to lightning.
The polar bear cubs are still too young to form a contract; they need to wait until they can eat meat, at which point they will enter a period of rapid growth.
Sophia was overwhelmed with love when she saw the polar bear cub. She found a basket, added some torn pieces of old clothes, and made a nest for the cub.
"By the way, have you named her? I think Susie is a good name," Sophia said to herself.
The polar bear cub is an adorable little female bear.
"She has a name now, Misha." Roya raised an eyebrow.
Ever since playing a certain game, Luo Ya has developed the habit of naming her bear cubs Misha.
"Is that so..." Sophia looked a little disappointed.
She thought the name Susie was nice; she had always wanted a younger sister, but unfortunately…
Time passed by unnoticed, and in addition to his daily studies, Luo Ya also had to take care of Xiaomisha.
Now he doesn't need to train with militia leader George anymore; he can train in his own backyard.
Sophia would come over every day to take care of Misa and play with her.
Only old Adam looked grim. He noticed that Sophia was going to that brat Roya's house more often, and she was smiling more often.
This left him with incredibly mixed feelings.
