"Send two teams in, be careful not to bump or damage anything," Major Dumas said, turning to the messenger beside him.

"Yes, sir!" The messenger nodded in response and immediately dispatched two marine squads to enter the hotel and begin the search.

After a while, the two groups of marines came out of the hotel and reported loudly, "Sir, no target found."

"Hmm." Major Dumas nodded, then turned and glared at the short, stout tax officer whose face was filled with panic, before coldly snorting, "Dismissed."

He then turned to Mrs. Mars, his tone apologetic: "I'm so sorry, Mrs. Mars, for bothering you."

Tax collector Robert was thunderstruck and immediately roared, "This is impossible! Those people were clearly hiding in this hotel, one man and two women. Did you miss them?!"

Upon hearing this, Major Dumas turned his gaze to the marine captain, his eyes full of questioning.

The leading marine captain hesitated for a moment before replying, "Sir, we did find the three people the tax officer mentioned, but they possess a pardon issued by Colonel Simon."

"A pardon!?"

Upon hearing this, the naval officers and soldiers exchanged bewildered glances.

Those who could obtain a pardon from the Navy were invariably major pirates, practically "one of their own."

What's more, that amnesty decree was issued by Colonel Simon, the highest-ranking officer of the base!

The marines all had a clear understanding of Colonel Simon's character. Although he was from a noble family, he would not steal credit from his subordinates and always took the lead in any situation, which earned him the respect and love of many marines.

It is that its own strength is somewhat weak, but naval warfare makes up for this weakness.

Major Dumas immediately turned and glared at the tax officer Robert, who was already in a panic and had no idea that Roya and his group had such a thing as a pardon.

Major Dumas apologized to Mrs. Mars again, then shouted, "Let's go!"

The group of naval soldiers returned to their positions and withdrew in orderly steps.

Tax collector Robert dared not linger there and hurriedly caught up with the seamen's entourage.

On the second floor of the hotel, Roya and his two companions peeked out from the window, watching the departing marines.

Aria asked incredulously, "We actually got rid of them so easily?"

"What else can I do? I have a pardon issued by Colonel Simon." Roya shrugged.

Fortunately, he remembered that he had this voucher, which allowed him to get rid of the group of marines.

Otherwise, the three of them would force their way out, causing quite a commotion.

At the same time, Roya also realized one thing: Colonel Simon had indeed risen to his position through connections.

Colonel Simon only possesses the strength of the Iron-level, yet he holds the rank of colonel.

Colonel William Mars is a Bronze-level superhuman, and Major Dumas is also a Bronze-level superhuman, but his rank is two levels lower.

At this moment, Mrs. Mars also came up to the second floor. Ignoring the trouble Roya and his group had caused, she looked at Aria and asked, "It's all over now. Are you planning to set sail today?"

"Yes, Mrs. Mars." Aria nodded somewhat reluctantly.

"I've prepared some pumpkin pancakes for you; you can take them on the ship," Mrs. Mars said, turning and going downstairs.

Aria, her eyes reddening, followed.

After exchanging glances, Roya and Sophia returned to their respective rooms to pack their belongings.

In the lobby on the first floor, Mrs. Mars, as if seeing off her own daughter, stuffed a large bag of food into Aria's hands and repeatedly gave her various instructions.

Aria was deeply moved, and her eyes grew even redder.

Unable to bear the somber atmosphere of parting, Roya and Sophia decided to arrive at the hotel entrance first.

"Hehe, isn't this the former second mate of the Red Pearl Pirate Crew, with a bounty of three hundred copper coins on his head?"

A smug voice rang out, and Roya turned his head to see that it was Kino, with a red ponytail tied behind her head and a malicious smile on her face.

Clearly, he went back and found Roya's bounty list, and started courting death the moment he met him.

"What, is the famous bounty hunter, Quicksword Kino, planning to capture a little pirate like me?" Roya snapped his fingers, summoning Ah-Dai.

The jet-black bone knife danced gracefully in Ah-Dai's bone palm.

"No, no, no, that was just a joke. I came here specifically to see you off," Kino pleaded, raising her hands.

Kino knew that Roya wouldn't kill him outright, but he would definitely let that skeleton warrior beat him up.

"I just saw a squad of marines and that annoying guy leave. What happened?" Kino quickly changed the subject.

Roy Adam then recounted how he had beaten up the short, fat tax collector and stolen all the gold coins from him.

"You really have no scruples, buddy." Kino was immediately filled with respect. He would beat up the kingdom's tax collectors with a sack, but Roya beat them up without any scruples.

Kino had a vague premonition that Roya would cause a major incident sooner or later and be wanted and have his bounty reissued by the Navy.

Seeing this, Roya seized the opportunity to extend an invitation: "Kino, how about becoming my partner and embarking on an adventure at sea together?"

"I won't go. I can't bear to leave all the delicious food on Gourmet Island. I'll be taking a merchant ship back to the Royal City waters in a while. If you get to the Royal Capital Island, you can find me at No. 47 Thorn Street." Kino waved his hand in refusal.

At this moment, Arya came out carrying her bundle and hugged Mrs. Mars goodbye.

"Oh, right, here's the information you wanted about Bear Paw Island." Kino tossed a small package to Roya.

Luo Ya nodded, then, remembering that annoying Robert, muttered a few words under his breath.

"Don't worry, you'll see what happens to him on the intelligence bird!" Kino grinned mischievously.

After saying goodbye to Mrs. Mars and Chino, Roya and his two companions arrived at the dock and found that many ships were leaving the port.

The lively food carnival ended at noon today.

This was the first time Sophia and Aria had seen the Velvet in its fully modified state.

"I feel like after the Velvet was remodeled, it went from a slender girl to a plump fat woman," Sophia remarked after looking her up and down.

Aria nodded in agreement.

After the modifications and reinforcements, the entire ship does look noticeably larger, and its waterline has sunk considerably.

Luo Ya said helplessly, "Alright, I'll go to the guard post to complete the departure procedures. You guys clean the deck and cabins, and double-check to make sure there are any supplies we forgot to buy."

Sophia and Aria readily agreed.

Roy arrived at the port watchtower to apply for the Velvet to leave port, but the clerk initially made all sorts of excuses and delays. It wasn't until he impatiently produced the pardon that the departure formalities were immediately completed.

When he returned to the dock, he saw Arya looking like she wanted to say something but couldn't.

"What's wrong?" Luo Ya asked, puzzled.

"I just saw a lot of empty space in the ship's cabin. Why don't we buy a batch of spirits and ship them to Blacksmith Island? We could make a fortune," Arya suggested.

The dwarves of Blacksmith Island love three things most: mining, blacksmithing, and drinking; their spirits are always in high demand.
