Great Voyage: My Summoned Creatures Can Level Up While Idle
Chapter 95 Ruins of the Orc Kingdom
The sun was high in the sky, and the sunlight was scorching.
When Roya climbed to the top of the mountain, he discovered two huge stone pillars, on which were carved rough orcish script.
Behind the pillar was an empty cliff, below which lay the deep sea.
This left Roya feeling stifled, as he had expected to see a unique view from the summit, but was instead greatly disappointed.
"Human? How did you get up here?" A Universal language with a thick, rustic accent rang out.
Luo Ya turned his head and found that behind the pillar was an old orc with white hair. He was wearing strips of cloth and had bottles, jars, animal bones, dried rat meat and other odds and ends hanging on his body.
It was then that he realized the old orc had no body below the knees.
This surprised Roya. How did a crippled orc who had lost both legs survive?
"Never mind." The disabled orc suddenly sighed, ignoring Roya, and took out a strip of cloth to clean the moss off the stone pillar.
This made Roya even more puzzled, so he stepped forward and asked, "What are you doing here?"
The disabled orc mumbled a few words in orcish, but when he realized that Roya couldn't understand him, he spoke in Common with a rustic accent: "I am reminiscing about the once incredibly powerful orc kingdom of Porydon."
"Hundreds of years ago, orcs ruled this island. Ogres and goblins were their slaves. The orcs developed fields, built houses and fortresses, developed orc writing, and constructed castles. We orcs also possessed civilization."
"With the opening of the Age of Exploration, countless adventurers and explorers flocked to the island. Orcs and foreign invaders went to war. The orc capital on the mountaintop was affected and destroyed in the legendary war between humans and orcs."
"After the legend's death, the orcs fell apart, their civilization was interrupted, and they reverted to being savage orcs who drank blood and ate raw meat. Goblins and ogre slaves also began to multiply on the island, competing with the orcs for living space."
"Hundreds of years later, it became the present-day Bear Paw Island."
The disabled old orc rambled on and on, and he couldn't even use some of the common language properly; it was all Roya's guess.
Roya became even more curious and asked, "How do you know all this so clearly?"
Upon hearing this, the disabled old orc's eyes were filled with reminiscence. "I was born on a Gypsy ship. I don't know who my parents are, but I grew up on the ship."
"Naturally, I became an excellent sailor, capable of holding my breath underwater for five minutes without needing to breathe again."
"My strength is also great. Although I am not a professional, my strength is not much worse than that of a Black Iron level superhuman."
"But I felt out of place with the people on the ship. They were humans, and I was an orc. This made me feel lost."
"Until I happened to hear the story of the orc kingdom, I vowed to find it."
"I searched frantically for information about the orc kingdom in the libraries of various port cities, and used my savings to ask the wisest mages for answers. After ten years, I finally found the location of the orc kingdom, which is this island."
"I knelt down and begged the captain to let him pass by Bear Paw Island. My sincerity moved the captain, and he agreed to stop nearby for a maximum of three days."
"When I landed on the island, I met other orcs for the first time; they were my true kin."
"Unfortunately, due to the interruption of civilization, the orcs on the island only have fragments of their descriptions of the Kingdom of Poludon. The ruins of the former kingdom are now reduced to just these two pillars and some broken walls."
"I was not resigned to this. I spent ten years and all I found were ruins, so I made a crazy decision."
"I dived into the sea below the cliff to search for the ruins of the kingdom."
"Finally, I saw the once glorious orc kingdom. Although it was submerged in the sea and covered with coral and barnacles, it still filled me with immense satisfaction."
"As I was preparing to surface for air, a sea monster attacked me. I thought I was going to die, but I survived. However, my legs were left in the ruins of the kingdom forever."
"Having lost my legs, I have also lost my value. I was abandoned on this island by the captain, and the orc clans will not accept someone with my disability. I can only use stories to exchange for food from some children."
"I wandered the island for twenty or thirty years? I can't remember anymore."
"Until I met Doru, who was also abandoned by his tribe because of his disability."
The ground trembled as a three-and-a-half-meter-tall ogre with brown skin climbed the steps.
Its eyes were lifeless; it could only sniff the air with its nose.
"Old Man Kru, I smell a human, a monster, and maybe even an undead? Old Man, I want to eat meat!" The ogre Doru's voice was very loud.
"Doru! We are no match for him. Do you want me, Old Man Kru, dead?" the crippled old orc roared in exasperation.
"No, Doru doesn't want Old Man Kru to die, Doru doesn't want to eat meat anymore." Unexpectedly, the ogre who was scolded immediately burst into tears.
"Good boy, your father still has some dried meat on him, I'll give it all to Doru." The crippled old orc crawled down to the ogre Doru with both hands and took the rat meat hanging around his neck.
The ogre Doru skillfully picked up the old orc, placed him on his neck, and then opened his gaping maw.
The old orc skillfully stuffed the dried rat into the ogre's mouth.
The ogre Doru stopped crying and looked satisfied as he chewed on the rat jerky with relish. "Jerky, delicious."
The ogre Doru is blind and born disabled. He was abandoned by his parents and later adopted by the disabled orc Kru, who calls the old orc "Dad".
Luo Ya took out the Star Compass, and the pointer darted around erratically.
On a whim, he opened the instance panel, where a new option had been added.
[Instance generation in progress, 10%...11%]
It's very strange that this new instance has a progress bar and takes some time to generate.
Having achieved his goal, Roya prepared to leave, his gaze falling on the crippled old orc being carried by the ogre.
The old orc waved his hand, signaling Roya to leave quickly.
Then, the old orc began to direct the ogre Doru to stand in front of the stone pillar and to wipe the inscriptions on the pillar with a clean strip of cloth.
With a solemn expression, the old orc Kru carefully wiped away the rough characters on the surface.
Over the years, this disabled old orc has regarded the two stone pillars on the mountaintop as his refuge.
Roya retrieved Ah-Dai, whom he had summoned due to the appearance of the ogre, and rode on Misha.
After taking one last look at the peculiar father-son duo, patting Misha on the head, the two of them ran down the mountain.
……
Upon returning to camp, Roya remembered Sophia's instructions and immediately patted Misha on the head, telling her to find a goblin nest nearby.
