Game of Thrones: Dance of the Dragons

Chapter 32 The Demonstration of the Gluttons

The next morning, at the port of Dragon Stone Island.

A group of royal council ministers, led by Prime Minister Leonor, hurriedly arrived at Dragonstone with another contingent of the King's personal guard.

They were greeted by Prince Beller, who had tamed the Gluttonous Dragon the night before; Princess Renella, the charioteer of Syracuse; and Prince Damon, the charioteer of Corakshweh.

Their three-headed dragons, as in their order, are located on the left, center, and right respectively.

Finance Minister Linman and Chief Inquisitor Larry reacted the fastest, simultaneously kneeling down and saying, "Congratulations, Your Highness!"

Next came Prime Minister Leonor and Navy Secretary Tyrande, whose expressions were the most interesting.

First came fear, then shock. Or rather, the black dragon before them, as black as steel and as large as Vormisor, had been tamed by a prince who was only six years old.

"Congratulations, Prince!" the two said in unison.

Despite their fear, they felt an overwhelming, unspeakable joy.

With Prince Baelor possessing such a powerful dragon, the Targaryen royal family's strength is gradually approaching that of the Valerian family.

When Prince Aegon and Princess Helena are a little older, it's unimaginable what a magnificent sight the Targaryen family will be.

Jaspi and Otto maintained their expressions unchanged, only offering congratulations along with Prime Minister Leonor, and remained silent, as if deliberately minimizing their presence.

Baylor observed their behavior and changes, then politely greeted the adults before turning aside to invite them to the castle on Dragonstone.

Otto's performance was very interesting.

As the royal ministers, led by Leonor, boarded their carriages in an orderly fashion, the children, who were planning to sneak out with their parents, deliberately hid beside the Minister of the Navy, Tylan, hoping to slip through unnoticed.

"Lord Otto, I remember you are the Kingdom's Chief Intelligence Officer, right?" Baylor saw through his trick and called out to him without hesitation as the other man passed by.

"Yes, Your Highness, I am in charge of all intelligence gathering." Otto turned around respectfully, but he had a vague feeling that he was being targeted.

Baylor nodded thoughtfully.

Then, looking at his uncle Damon beside him, he said, "Uncle, please go back with Lord Leonor and the others first. Lord Otto and I have some private matters to discuss."

Damon glanced at Otto with a mocking look, then rode his dragon Korakshyu back to the castle on Dragonstone in the carriage.

At this point, only Beller, Renilla, and Otto, who was pretending to be calm, remained present.

"Your Highness, please feel free to ask any questions you may have. As the Kingdom's Chief Intelligence Officer, I will provide you with all the necessary assistance."

Seeing his righteous and awe-inspiring appearance, Renilla laughed speechlessly, almost slapping his old face.

"Lord Otto, I remember you saying when you were Prime Minister that sometimes one shouldn't be too shameless and should still care about one's reputation."

Otto responded easily, "Your Highness, I've also said that one must learn to assess the situation and not have any unreasonable desires."

After speaking, he deliberately bowed slightly to Prince.

Baylor knew perfectly well that Otto was trying to use this opportunity to give him a chance to admit his mistakes and pledge his loyalty.

He may not be good-looking, but he certainly has a lot of ideas in his head.

When it's your turn to be loyal, you're there trying to win over the other minor nobles, attempting to murder the eldest son and install your own grandson as heir.

Now you know you've lost, you know you're going to die, you're scared, and you're running over here to admit your mistakes?!

Why didn't you do this sooner?!

"Otto, yesterday a wizard from the Shadowlands infiltrated Dragonstone. He not only angered Vormisor and Silverwing in the Dragon's Lair, but also attempted to assassinate the king's eldest son."

"Why would a stowaway who secretly crossed the strait be so familiar with Dragon's Lair and Dragonstone Island?"

Baylor drew his dragon horn dagger from his waist and listlessly stroked the bright red blade with his fingers.

Beside him, the Glutton, sensing the driver's emotions, lowered its dragon head slightly, flames burning in its deep green eyes, and stared at Otto for a moment.

As long as Beller gives the order, it will spew dragon flames and burn the enemies in front of it to death.

Dragons are the embodiment of magic and fire; ordinary people would find it difficult to breathe just by getting close, let alone a giant dragon so close.

"Your Highness is joking. It's not surprising that many witches from the Shadowlands sneak into every port of Westeros."

"However, I haven't received any information yet about why they suddenly came to Dragonstone."

Otto was breathing heavily, and even though his beard was already charred and curled from the heat, he still stubbornly argued.

"Lord Otto, are you trying to pull off some kind of stunt? I remember when you were prime minister, you were extremely wary of the priestesses of the Shadowlands!"

"In fact, Lord Jasper once joked at a royal meeting, saying, 'If you didn't know, how could you possibly have such a deep hatred for those wizards?'"

"What, it's only been a few years, and you've already forgotten your roots? Or are you doing this on purpose?!"

Rénilla wasn't as cunning as Baylor. She had already disliked Otto back when that old bastard was Prime Minister.

His mother had only been dead for a month, and he had that bitch Alison seduce his father.

After giving birth, she even hinted to her father that Baelor was physically weak, and tried to win over the courtiers in order to recommend Aegon as the crown prince.

Renilla remembered every single thing he did!

"Your Highness, I simply..."

Before Otto could explain, Beller feigned shock and asked, "Really, sister? There's such a thing?"

"Lord Otto, anyone who didn't know better would think you were targeting the King's eldest son, or perhaps that the witch in the shadows was actually the work of your Hightoar family?"

Otto immediately spoke up, "Your Highness, please believe me, I swear on my personal honor that the Hightoar family has absolutely no connection to this matter!"

"Please don't believe the rumors. I will definitely find evidence to prove my family's and my innocence!"

Baylor pointed the blade of the dragon horn dagger at Otto's other cheek and said casually, "When you were prime minister, you were very responsible for the affairs of the Shadowlands. But now that you're the chief intelligence officer, you've become lax and negligent?"

"Sister, do you think such an ambitious minister is qualified to be Father's chief minister?"

Renilla gently stroked Syracuse behind her and said, "Brother, Lord Otto is the former prime minister whom our father called his 'right-hand man.' He's not someone we can presume to discuss."

Otto finally understood; the siblings were working together in a coordinated manner.

It was a warning and a deterrent to him: either resign from his position as Minister of Intelligence, or wait for them to expose the matter.

Look, after the benevolent and tolerant King Viserys learned of these things, did he choose to believe his eldest son and daughter, or an arrogant chief of intelligence?
