Game of Thrones: Dance of the Dragons

Chapter 34 Gluttons, obey my orders!

"Helena?"

"Alison, didn't I tell you and Aegon to go back to your room for a nap? Why did you suddenly come back?" Renilla clicked her tongue, her tone somewhat displeased.

She originally wanted to spend some time alone with her younger brother and take the opportunity to complain about her "good stepmother" and vent her dissatisfaction.

As a result, this girl followed me over, and I couldn't even chat with her, let alone complain. Who knows if she'll tell on me?

"My mother is taking care of my father."

"Besides, I'm all grown up now, a big kid. Mom can't discipline me like she used to. I want to be with my brother!"

As she spoke, Helena stubbornly clung to Baylor's leg, displaying a "If you don't take me with you, I'll stick with you" attitude reminiscent of a scene from a King's Landing drama.

Seeing that she couldn't win the argument with Helena, Rhaenera turned her attention to Aegon, "And you? Why aren't you sleeping? What are you doing here?!"

"I...I'll go take care of Helena!"

"My mother said that as the older brother, I must protect my younger sister!"

When Aegon uttered that excuse, he was almost impressed with himself. How could he be so clever!

This demonstrates his responsibility as an elder brother, and also gives him a legitimate reason to watch the wild dragon known as the Glutton.

"What do you think, my dear brother?" Renilla cursed inwardly, but couldn't find a good reason to refuse, so she could only agree to Beller's request.

How could Beller not understand Renilla's thoughts? But seeing Helena's pitiful appearance, he just couldn't bring himself to refuse.

"Why don't we take them with us? It's just two more people anyway," Beller suggested, glancing tentatively at Renilla.

"My dear brother, it was a bit windy just now, could you repeat that?" Renilla looked at Beller with a smile.

Baylor turned away in fear, knowing that he would be ravaged again when he returned.

Although Helena and the others were young, her observations were the most acute, and she knew that her brother disagreed because of her sister Renilla.

So, she immediately changed her target, gently pleading with Renella by holding her right hand, "Sister, please let me go, I won't cause you any trouble, okay?"

Egon cleared his throat. "Sister, actually it's me!"

"Aegon, just shut up, or you'll disgust me," Rhaenyra quickly stopped his foolish behavior.

However, she eventually relented and agreed to let the brother and sister go to the dragon's lair with them.

Having learned from the previous experience, this time, in addition to the Royal Guards, a royal guard of several dozen men accompanied Prince Baylor and his entourage.

……

Outside the dragon's lair, the gluttons were enjoying lamb roasted over flames, while keeping a watchful eye on the dragon guards not far away.

The gluttons will scare them away with a warning hiss or by spewing eerie green flames whenever they even think of getting close.

Faced with this terrifyingly large creature, the experienced dragon guards all tacitly chose to observe from a distance.

Unlike Vormisor and Silverwing, the Glutton had never had a master before and had always lived in the wild. Its vigilance and level of danger were far beyond those of the previous two dragons.

"How's the dragon saddle coming along?" Baelor walked over unhurriedly and asked the dragon guard beside him in Valyrian.

"The dragon's saddle will take at least seven days to make; you will have to wait a little longer," the dragon guard captain replied respectfully.

"What about Vomisol and Silverwing? How are they?"

Ever since Beller survived the fire and a red comet appeared in the sky, Vomisor and Silverwing have miraculously calmed down, and there seems to be a strange connection between them.

It's not like a partnership between a dragon and its rider; it's more like a friendship, family, and an unspoken sense of recognition.

Perhaps, when I need help, they will obey my commands? Baylor pondered to himself.

After the glutton had finished its breakfast, Baelor gently soothed it in Valyrian and climbed up the dragon's back along the spikes on its body.

The gluttons offered no resistance or reluctance from beginning to end. Their relationship was like that of Rennyra and Syracuse, a rider and dragon who had been together for six years.

"This is absolutely shocking!" one of the dragon guards exclaimed.

"Prince Beller is His Majesty the King's eldest son and the future King of the Seven Kingdoms. It's not surprising that he would do anything." The Dragon Guard Captain was the most enlightened.

"Fly, Glutton!" After finding a seat, Baylor excitedly gave the command to the Glutton.

"Hiss—"

The glutton roared to the sky, flapping its black wings as it soared into the heavens.

Its speed was like that of a galloping horse, and it instantly flew from the hillside to the waterfront next to Dragon Stone Island, beginning to fly at high speed around the island.

Baylor realized that the Glutton was deliberately moving so fast. It wanted to see if its little one was worthy of being its master.

Beller silently gripped the spikes on the dragon's back, completely unfazed. In fact, the glutton's test was exactly what he wanted!

A dragon known as the King of Wild Dragons randomly chose a master without undergoing any training or trials, which clearly does not meet the requirements for taming a dragon.

"Come on, you're no match for me even in dreams, let alone in reality!"

The glutton glanced back at the little insect clinging to its back, a hint of cruelty flashing clearly in its deep green eyes.

Then, it quickly changed direction, broke through the airflow, passed through the high-altitude clouds, and at the last moment, spat out a ghostly green dragon flame and quickly passed through it.

Looking at the green curtain coming towards him, Baylor indeed smugly snorted and easily passed through the dragon flames without suffering any damage.

Seeing Baylor's calm and proud demeanor, the Glutton was not surprised at all, and even roared with excitement.

Although they are human and dragon, they are remarkably similar in their inner character. The more difficult things they face, the stronger their desire to conquer becomes.

Seeing that the flames had no effect on Baylor, the glutton immediately changed its strategy and swiftly flew from the sky into the unfathomable sea.

Baylor choked violently, seawater flowing into his lungs through his nose and mouth, nearly causing him to completely let go.

Because the glutton was clearly less patient than him, he only remained submerged for ten seconds before bursting out of the water in boredom.

Dragons are the embodiment of magic and creatures of fire. Although they can lie dormant for short periods, they are inherently incompatible with seawater.

"Glutton, come on! Keep going!"

Upon breathing fresh air again, Baylor felt no fear whatsoever; instead, his purple eyes gleamed with an excited frenzy.

Just as the world describes the Targaryen family, they have never lacked wise monarchs, nor have they lacked mentally unstable madmen.

At this moment, the glutton did not take to great heights, but instead flew steadily toward Dragonstone.

The enormous dragon head slowly turned, its deep green eyes fixed on Baylor, just as Baylor was looking at the Glutton.

At this moment, no words are needed between them.

Because Baylor knew he had won!
