Game of Thrones: Dance of the Dragons

Chapter 37 Flying to Chaotou Island

"You let Aegon tame a dragon?" Viserys was astonished, never expecting his eldest son to be so magnanimous.

"Yeah, it's a pity that the kid is useless, he only likes Yangyan."

"Otherwise, our family might have gained another dragon knight with a giant dragon." Baylor couldn't help but sigh regretfully.

Baelor was more frustrated and disappointed in Aegon's ungratefulness.

In Baelor's eyes, no matter how many dragons House Targaryen had, they still needed to be ridden by someone in order to fight for the family in all directions.

Secondly, he is the elder brother, the king's eldest son, and the future king of the seven kingdoms. He must not let his own selfish desires jeopardize the overall situation.

"Look, look! This is my eldest son, my crown prince, the only future king of our continent of Wester!" Viserys was truly gratified.

He had witnessed the power struggles between Renilla and Allison over the years, but he had been deceiving himself, unwilling to shatter the facade of harmony within the family.

Now, the eldest son, Baylor, has first become the legendary "Unburnt," and then tamed the Gluttonous Dragon King. Now, he has united the family with his tolerance and generosity!

Viserys believed that on Baelor's name day, when he came of age, the Targaryen family would usher in an unprecedented golden age!

"Congratulations, Your Majesty!"

"With Prince Baelor here, the Targaryen dynasty will surely prosper forever!" Larry reacted the fastest, being the first to congratulate the king.

"Congratulations, Your Majesty!"

Otto knelt down second not only to impress the king, but also because he felt a touch of jealousy and envy towards Baylor's abilities.

If only Baylor were a descendant of Hightower...

Then came the other ministers, led by Leonor.

Viserys was overjoyed and held another grand banquet that night, sharing fine wine and food with his subjects.

As the main character, Prince naturally had to accompany his father and the ministers to the banquet. It wasn't until late at night that he returned to his room, exhausted, with the help of his sister.

The next morning, Viserys received a raven from the acting lord of King's Landing, saying that there was too much government work piling up and that the king had to deal with it personally.

Viserys decided that after a delicious breakfast, he would return to King's Landing with his family and ministers.

Baylor cannot leave for the time being, because his dragon saddle is still being made, and secondly, the naming day of the sea serpent is approaching.

Viserys took this very seriously. This was the first time Baelor had traveled to Tidehead to meet House Valerian on behalf of the Targaryen dynasty since returning to King's Landing.

"Father, is it necessary to take a boat?"

Baelor believed he had tamed the king of the wild dragons and it was time to tell House Valerian that the Targaryen royal family was no longer what it used to be.

"Prepare gifts, be polite, and know your limits." After leaving these three sentences, Viserys boarded the royal sailing ship and left Dragonstone.

Over the course of seven days, Baylor gradually established initial connections with the sheep thieves and the Grey Shadows, teaching them that they must return to the dragon's lair before nightfall, as well as some simple obedience commands.

Then, on the morning of the eighth day, when the weather was fine, Rhaenyra rode in Syracuse, with five-year-old Aegon, who was full of excitement, and several ships full of precious gifts, and docked at the port of Dragonstone.

"Didn't we agree it would just be the two of us? Why is Aegon here too?" Baylor asked, puzzled.

Renilla said speechlessly, "It's all because of this kid. He didn't want to tame the sheep thief, and he got a good scolding from our good stepmother."

"My father felt sorry for Aegon, so he let him come with me."

As for Helena, Alison would naturally not be harsh on her only beloved daughter, but she would also not allow her to participate in any dangerous activities.

"Beile, my mother nags me every day about family responsibility and the need to risk everything, telling me I must tame the sheep thief."

"But I don't like that ugly dragon. I only like my Sunfire. Why should I tame a dragon I don't like?" Aegon ran his hands through his hair, pulling it out frantically, showing signs of a mental breakdown.

Looking at his lazy and stupid younger brother, who had no ambition and only wanted to lie down, Baylor didn't hesitate and slapped him on the back of the head.

"Why did you hit me!" Egon asked, looking puzzled.

Baelor placed his hands on Aegon's shoulders and said earnestly, "Remember, Aegon, you are my brother, and you have the blood of Ancient Valyria in your veins."

"Aside from family honor and responsibility, no one in the world can command or bind you, including your mother!"

"Huh?" Egon was stunned.

From childhood to adulthood, apart from receiving some royal education and learning, he faced his mother's ideological indoctrination every day.

Baylor didn't explain much; for his foolish younger brother, thinking for himself was often more useful than lectures from the academy.

Then, Baldr rode on the Glutton, taking Aegon and his sister Rhaenyra with him, and flew ahead towards Tidehead Island.

……

After a long flight, Beller and his party finally arrived at Chaotou Island.

Tidehead Island has a very special geographical location, tightly controlling the Strait of Roaring Island. Ships on the island can trade with the free trade cities much faster than ships from King's Landing.

As a result, the Valerian family, who lived on Tidehead Island and relied on free trade, became the wealthiest family in Westeros.

"Sister, I've never been to Chaotou Island before. How about you fly around with me?"

Chaotou Island has a complex terrain that is easy to defend and difficult to attack. This is a good opportunity for Baylor to learn about potential future adversaries.

"Let's start in Spice Town." How could Renilla not see through her brother's little scheme?

The two dragons, one large and one small, attracted the attention of many residents in the sky above Chaotou Island.

The largest black dragon, in particular, caused the Valerian people who came to greet them to frown instantly.

This means that the royal family's power has increased again, and they are already showing signs of suppressing the Valerian.

"Go and report this to Lord Corliss," a Valerian attendant greeted him.

After surveying the general terrain above Chaotou Island, Beller ordered the Gluttons to fly downwards.

"Roar—"

From the direction of the dragon's lair, an old green dragon awoke from its slumber and roared angrily as a warning.

"Hiss—"

Not to be outdone, the glutton roared back, a louder and more deafening cry, in kind warning the old man.

Baylor gripped the reins tightly and immediately looked in the direction from which the dragon's roar came.

It was a beach by the sea, and an enormous dragon had slowly risen up, staring intently in the direction of the glutton.

"Vaghar".

Beller tightened his grip on the reins.

With his extensive knowledge, he certainly recognized this giant dragon.

The only dragon from the first generation of House Targaryen dragons to survive to the present day—Vaghar.
