Soldiers' Assault: Veteran Special Agents and New Recruits

Chapter 168 This reinforced combined arms battalion is pretty fierce! (Seeking monthly votes)

The onlookers, who had held no hope just moments before, couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions as they watched their squad leader lead the Ace of Spades squad away.

Being able to participate in large-scale military exercises is a recognition of your capabilities by the military region.

Moreover, being part of a combined arms battalion that has been pushed to the forefront of the information technology reform wave presents an even more valuable opportunity.

Even if they ultimately can't defeat a division, just being able to participate is an honor.

As long as you are at the forefront of the times and at the forefront of military reform, everything you do is an honor.

If you want to accumulate stars on your shoulders quickly, keeping up with the pace of reform is the invisible shortcut.

Everyone in the Third Squadron knew exactly what was going on.

Given Jackie Chan's current popularity, he is not only a highly sought-after member of Team A, but the military region has also set its sights on him.

Don't underestimate Jackie Chan just because he's only a first-class sergeant; the people watching are all lieutenants.

Even captains.

But in just a few years, Jackie Chan will rise to prominence ahead of them at rocket speed, and they will have to call him "Commander" when they see him.

Although the result was very upsetting for them, it is the difference between people.

Watching the Ace of Spades team go off to enjoy the benefits of the times, none of the other Ace players had that opportunity. It would be a lie to say they weren't envious and sour.

Even Qi Huan's eyes welled up with tears!

However, beneath this envy and jealousy, the members of Team A offered mostly hopes and blessings.

As comrades from the same squadron, everyone hopes that the Spade A team can achieve good results on this trip and win more honors for the A brigade.

Therefore, while feeling a pang of sadness, they also offered their heartfelt blessings.

We hope the Ace of Spades team will return victorious!

at the same time.

Cheng Cai, who was washing vegetables at the back door of the cafeteria, also saw the Spade A team walking by in the distance.

Looking at the familiar figures in the team, thinking about the days when they fought together, and comparing himself to now only washing vegetables in the mess hall every day, while Xu Sanduo and the others have already taken great strides.

Cheng Cai's emotions surged, filled with a complex mix of feelings.

I stood there motionless, watching the procession gradually disappear into the distance.

Cheng Cai remained standing there, motionless, until they disappeared at the end of the road, no longer able to see the dashing Ace of Spades team.

It was as if they had been petrified!

Staring blankly!

……

The Zhurihe training base is located in Zhurihe Town, Xilingol League, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

If you drive from Team A to the Zhurihe Base, it's nearly 500 kilometers, and it takes most of the day to get there, plus the roads are in bad condition.

Taking a helicopter would be much faster, as the straight-line distance is only about 400 kilometers.

Jackie Chan and his entourage arrived in just two hours by flying in a Mi-17 helicopter at a speed of only 230 kilometers per hour.

The terrain of the Zhurihe training base is complex.

Composed of deserts, grasslands, mountains, and trenches, it possesses unique geographical advantages for military training.

The climate here is also very unique, so unique that it can be described as harsh.

One wind blows all year round, from spring to winter.

This sentence perfectly describes the climate of Zhurihe.

In summer, gale-force winds of up to level 12 often blow, whipping up sandstorms that sting the face and can scratch the paint off cars.

The frost season here lasts for up to 6 months in winter, with the lowest temperature reaching -43 degrees Celsius.

For miles around, there is hardly any sign of human habitation.

Jackie Chan and his team did not go to the Zhurihe base, which is still under construction. The camp housing is drafty and the training facilities are rudimentary, presenting a desolate scene.

Instead, they went directly to the combined arms battalion's training ground, a place where mountains meet grasslands.

Although the exercise wasn't being conducted in a desert or ravine area, and the wind wasn't carrying a lot of sand and gravel, the strong wind was still very uncomfortable.

When Jackie Chan and the others got off the helicopter, the wind made it hard for them to open their eyes.

The camouflaged tents in the exercise camp were swaying constantly in the strong wind. If it weren't for the taut tent pegs and ropes around them, they would probably have collapsed in a second.

It blew straight to another mountain!

In contrast, the officers of the combined arms battalion who stood at the camp gate to greet them looked much better and showed no signs of discomfort.

I must have gotten used to the strong winds here; my eyes have become resistant to them.

The combined arms battalion must have received orders from the military region and had a detailed understanding of the mission and purpose of the Spade A team's arrival.

That's why they were able to greet us so promptly and with such grandeur outside.

"Welcome, welcome! I am Liu Zhongxing, the battalion commander of the combined arms battalion. This is Political Instructor Tang Guoli, and this is Chief of Staff Li Yunhe..."

The officer with two cents came forward, introduced himself, and then introduced the officers he had brought with him.

"Squadron Leader Yuan Lang of Team A, this is Special Training Instructor Cheng Long, and the people behind him are my team members. I hope you will take good care of me since I have the opportunity to participate in this exercise."

The other party was very polite, and Yuan Lang introduced himself in a cheerful manner.

From the moment the entire army began its open selection process, Team A was no longer a secret unit; it was essentially public knowledge, just like the Wolf Fang Special Forces.

Therefore, Yuan Lang did not conceal his identity this time as he had before.

"Haha, you guys are the elite of Team A, I wouldn't dare to talk about taking care of you, I hope we can have a pleasant working relationship."

Battalion Commander Liu Zhongxing was a straightforward man, and he warmly invited, "Come, come, Captain Yuan, it's windy outside, let's go inside."

After saying that, he continued, "Sergeant Major, send two people over to help Comrade Jackie Chan with his luggage, and then take them to rest first."

"yes!"

A sergeant responded and took Jackie Chan's backpack.

He then approached Wu Zhe and the others, gesturing to the side and saying, "Comrades, come with me, I'll take you to your dormitories to settle in first."

"Okay, thank you."

Wu Zhe nodded politely and, as the leader, walked to the right.

Led by Liu Zhongxing, Jackie Chan and Yuan Lang arrived at the large tent in the middle. They lifted the curtain and went inside, which was the camp command post.

The command center has a very large interior space, divided into two areas: an inner and an outer area.

Inside, a small room was partitioned off, containing several high-powered radios and other equipment, which were being operated by two technicians.

The outside is a space of about 30 to 40 square meters, which is divided into two areas, left and right.

There is a rectangular table on the left, which can seat a maximum of 8 people, which is more than enough for the few people in the battalion headquarters to hold meetings.

On the right is a 2m x 2m sand table, with some red and blue flags already planted on it.

"Come, have a seat."

Battalion Commander Liu Zhongxing gestured to the desk on the left, walked over, took off his hat, dusted it off, and sat down. The chief of staff and political instructor followed suit.

The remaining four staff officers and the deputy battalion commander chose to stand at the back instead of taking a seat.

There weren't enough seats, so we had to give them to the guests first.

Yuan Lang showed no politeness whatsoever, and neither did Jackie Chan. Since you've already extended an invitation, let's find a seat first.

The people who left from Old A.

I don't know what being polite means.

The communications officer was very quick and sensible. Without the battalion commander's instructions, he took a cup and poured tea for everyone.

"I've heard a lot about Team A. Your men are all elite soldiers. It's a great honor for my combined arms battalion to cooperate with you."

Battalion Commander Liu Zhongxing began with standard pleasantries, then took out his cigarette case and started handing out cigarettes.

He said, "Come on, have a smoke," and his hand tossed cigarettes with precision, giving one to everyone, including the staff officer standing at the back.

Jackie Chan doesn't smoke.

What follows is purely out of politeness.

Yuan Lang took out a lighter, lit it, and started smoking. With smoke swirling around him and his eyes half-closed, he said, "Your combined arms battalion is not bad either. I look forward to cooperating with you in the future."

After the standard mutual flattery, Yuan Lang got straight to the point and asked, "What kind of combined arms battalion do you belong to?"

This is crucial information; we must understand it first.

The development of combined arms battalion organization in our army was relatively slow, but it started very early, from the 80s to the 90s, and we have already gained some experience.

Although we are still in the exploratory stage, we are studying the role of combined arms battalions in actual combat.

However, based on the terrain and combat requirements, there are many types of combined arms battalions.

There are three main categories: heavy, medium, and light, as well as various subcategories such as amphibious combined arms battalions, mountain combined arms battalions, and assault combined arms battalions.

Each type of combined arms battalion has a different configuration, and the tactics that can be used are also completely different.

For example, in addition to the basic logistics support companies, the core standard configuration of a heavy combined arms battalion is one artillery company, two armored infantry companies, and three heavy tank companies.

The core of a medium combined arms battalion consists of one artillery company, two light tank companies, and three mechanized infantry companies.

Light combined arms battalions generally lack armored forces, but some may be equipped with one armed helicopter squadron and five infantry companies to form an air-ground integrated force.

Because the configuration of the combined arms battalion is so complex, Yuan Langcai must first figure out what kind of combined arms battalion it is.

"I cannot answer your question correctly," Battalion Commander Liu Zhongxing said with a smile.

"Why?" Yuan Lang asked, puzzled.

"Because we are the pioneers, the creators, not the users, we are exploring and developing new synthesis modes that are more conducive to maximizing combat effectiveness, so..."

Battalion Commander Liu Zhongxing smiled and said, "Our battalion has an armed helicopter squadron, a heavy tank company, and an air defense company."

Two armored infantry companies, one artillery company, one combat support company, one comprehensive support company, plus the special forces team supported by your A battalion, are responsible for forward infiltration and reconnaissance, with a total force of over 1000.

If I had to categorize us, I think... we could call us reinforced combined arms battalions.

When Jackie Chan heard that this combined arms battalion was so powerful, with a helicopter squadron flying in the sky, a heavy tank company on the ground, as well as an air defense company and an artillery company, he felt even more confident.

Yuan Lang's furrowed brows relaxed slightly upon hearing this.
