Soldiers' Assault: Veteran Special Agents and New Recruits

Chapter 170 Helicopter Night Raid Unfolds (Seeking Monthly Tickets)

Infiltrating behind enemy lines without support or logistics means fighting alone.

Eating and drinking are definitely the most basic and important things.

It is necessary to carry as much as possible.

Secondly, there are daily necessities such as sleeping bags, raincoats, snake repellents, and insect repellents, as well as various reconnaissance equipment such as night vision goggles, binoculars, batteries, camouflage clothing, and individual radios.

Normally, a soldier's most important weapon and ammunition should be placed as the fourth priority.

Once a small team of a dozen people is exposed, the inevitable outcome is that they will be surrounded by a massive army, and carrying more bullets will be meaningless.

It's better to do thorough preparation to reduce the probability of potential exposure.

After filling out the list of required items, we handed it over to the Zhurihe Combined Arms Battalion for preparation. By the time the combined arms battalion delivered the supplies, it was already past 5 p.m.

After Jackie Chan and the Ace of Spades team divided up the supplies and packed their backpacks and luggage, it was getting dark.

The combined arms battalion provided excellent logistical support, even delivering meals to Jackie Chan and his entourage, including large pots of stew served in basins, accompanied by steaming hot white steamed buns.

It was much worse than eating in the A Battalion's mess hall, but at least you were lucky to get a hot meal at the field kitchen.

When Jackie Chan was having dinner with his crew, Yuan Lang, who had been staying at the command center, returned and joined them for dinner while discussing the contents of the meeting.

After a meeting that lasted all afternoon, Yuan Lang had basically figured out everything.

Moreover, after his strong intervention, many aspects of the battle plan were changed.

After all, he was a lieutenant colonel from the special forces, and his prestigious title carried weight in the combined arms battalion.

The Black Spade A team's infiltration operation behind enemy lines was officially codenamed Operation Black Sword.

The first task was to find the Red Army artillery regiment.

Artillery regiments with a range exceeding 50km can easily fire shells at combined arms battalion camps, making them arguably the biggest threat to combined arms battalions.

The artillery regiment must be eliminated before the Zhurihe combined arms battalion can operate freely.

There is no need to worry about suffering heavy losses in the upcoming mobile warfare because the Red Army artillery has locked onto our position and launched artillery attacks.

It is for this reason.

The first mission for the Ace of Spades squad is extremely important. They must wait until the Ace of Spades squad finds the Red Army artillery regiment and guides the combined arms battalion artillery to destroy it.

Only when the combined arms battalion is free from all concerns can it formally launch mobile warfare against the Red Army.

It was precisely because of this crucial Black Sword Operation, which was related to the entire Blue Army operation, that the biggest point of contention between Yuan Lang and the Combined Arms Battalion erupted.

That's the infiltration method used by the Ace of Spades team!

Battalion Commander Liu Zhongxing originally planned a ground infiltration, using vehicles to transport the Spade A Squad to the starting point, and then having the Blackhead A Squad infiltrate from the ground.

Yuan Lang expressed strong dissatisfaction with this method of infiltration.

Forcibly passing through the armored infantry blockade is not only extremely risky, but if discovered, it would result in an attack by thousands of mechanized infantry.

Even if the Ace of Spades team had the ability to ascend to the heavens, they would still face a slim chance of survival.

They would cut in from the front, with a depth of 10km. The artillery regiment certainly wouldn't be here. The 10km that the Ace of Spades platoon crossed was a waste of time.

This method of infiltration is far too outdated!

Special operations emphasize efficiency and precision, like a sharp knife precisely striking the enemy's heart, rather than wasting time slowly on the way.

Yuan Lang severely criticized ground infiltration, and then proposed a surprise air infiltration.

And it must be an aerial raid and infiltration!

Otherwise, the Ace of Spades team will refuse to carry out Operation Black Sword.

The reason why the combined arms battalion chose to infiltrate from the ground was partly due to their distrust of Old A, and they started from the ground as a precaution.

After all, Old A used to be very mysterious, and few people knew their true fighting strength.

On the other hand, it's too risky.

The location of the Red Army's air defense regiment was unknown. If a helicopter rashly entered the Red Army's position, it would be easily detected and might be shot down by anti-aircraft guns.

Now, seeing Yuan Lang's assertive attitude and confident demeanor, it's clear he's quite the man.

After weighing the pros and cons...

Battalion Commander Liu Zhongxing had no choice but to agree, saying that the Ace of Spades squad could be transported in by helicopter.

However, it can only be airdropped from high altitudes.

The reason given was that low-altitude landings by helicopters were too dangerous and would make them vulnerable to attacks by the Red Army.

As a result, this turned out to be a mess.

Yuan Lang felt terrible!

Team A of Spades has very comprehensive skills, but there is one subject that is still a complete blank for some of the team members.

Xu Sanduo, Wu Liuyi, Wu Zhe, and Cheng Long have not yet practiced paratrooper training.

Sending the four of them by helicopter would be like dropping them into a trapeze; once they leave the cabin, they'd fall straight down and be eliminated.

It's fine that the other three people can't fall down, but the main problem is that the squad leader, Jackie Chan, can't, which is giving Yuan Lang a real headache.

A squad can't be without a squad leader!

In fact, Jackie Chan has a wealth of skydiving experience, which is better than anyone else in the team. Even former paratrooper Tuo Yonggang is no match for Jackie Chan.

But Yuan Lang didn't know that.

In Jackie Chan's entire career as a soldier, there was no training in paratroopers.

Fortunately, Yuan Lang was calm enough that even though his heart was in turmoil, his expression remained as calm as a still well.

Faced with the demands made by Battalion Commander Liu Zhongxing, he calmly offered a "reasonable" explanation.

The winds in the Zhurihe area are really strong. Airdrops are easily blown off course by the strong winds, and a small team of a dozen people cannot jump to a single point, so they cannot carry out their operations effectively.

Therefore, a helicopter aerial raid was necessary, followed by a rappelling to the ground.

And emphasized.

Operation Black Sword is crucial to the success or failure of the entire exercise. Even if we lose a helicopter, as long as we can get people in, it's a very worthwhile deal.

Yuan Lang's explanation was flawless, and Battalion Commander Liu Zhongxing pondered it with difficulty.

In the end, I had no choice but to agree.

Change ground infiltration to air raid!

Furthermore, they accepted Yuan Lang's suggestion to change the time of the air raid from 9:0 AM tomorrow to midnight tomorrow.

The poor visibility at night makes it easier to hide and facilitates infiltration.

Actually, the best time is tonight. We can make arrangements a day in advance, get intelligence earlier, and it will be more beneficial for the Ace of Spades team's operation.

Unfortunately, the exercise doesn't start until 9 a.m. tomorrow, so leaving tonight would be a bit of a violation.

There's no way.

If the timing doesn't work out, then we can only do it one day later.

After having eaten and drunk their fill, the Ace of Spades team waited peacefully in their tent.

Because the exercise was conducted under Level 1 combat readiness, the Spade A team couldn't go anywhere or train, and could only stay in their tents.

They either sleep, play cards, read, or do something else.

The eight immortals cross the sea, each showing their magical powers.

the next day.

11:50pm.

"Ready to depart."

Yuan Lang personally came to the tent to give the order, and personally led Jackie Chan and his 16-person group to the helicopter squadron camp, personally sending them onto the helicopter.

"I'm waiting for your good news."

Yuan Lang said only one simple sentence before turning around and leaving gracefully.

"Beep beep beep beep beep..."

The sound of the propellers accelerating grew louder and louder as the helicopter slowly lifted off the ground and into the night sky.

The veteran members of the Third Squadron in the Ace of Spades had been with the A Squadron for some time and had received special flight training; they all appeared quite calm.

Tuo Yonggang's buttocks were sore from sitting on airplanes that he didn't feel much about flying in a helicopter.

Wu Zhe is usually calm and composed, so he can maintain a normal attitude.

Only Xu Sanduo and Wu Liuyi were particularly excited. It was the first time in their lives that they had ever taken a helicopter raid at night.

Throughout the entire time, I was like a curious child, constantly glancing out the window.

The helicopter needed to cross the Red Army's front lines, and in order to avoid being detected by the Red Army on the front lines, the helicopter climbed to an altitude of nearly 3000 meters.

No matter how Wu Liuyi and Xu Sanduo looked, it was pitch black outside, and they couldn't see anything.

It flew for about 5 minutes.

The helicopter had reached deep into the heart of the Red Army's territory, and its altitude began to drop sharply, eventually landing in a clearing in a forest.

Fearing that the helicopter rotor might hit tree branches, they opted for the most conventional method: rope rappelling.

Having already received a broadcast reminder from the crew, the Ace of Spades team, each carrying their own backpacks, lined up in neat rows and rappelled down to the ground from both sides, holding onto ropes.

"Down, down, down..."

Jackie Chan was at the door to guide and direct the trainees, ensuring they all successfully rappelled to the ground one by one.

Wu Zhe and Wu Liuyi, who were the first to rappel down, were very professional. After landing, they immediately ran four or five meters away, then crouched down facing outwards, holding their guns and providing cover for their teammates who hadn't yet rappelled down.

We are all veterans who have climbed high bar ropes and done rope rappelling.

Helicopter descent is no challenge for the Ace of Spades team.

In less than a minute, Jackie Chan, who was last in line, landed safely, half-squatted down and made a gesture to the helicopter, and the two rappelling ropes fell down.

The helicopter then climbed back up and disappeared into the darkness once more.

It was as if they had never been here.

Jackie Chan and the others crouched down and waited for the helicopter to leave. With the strong winds no longer blowing so hard they couldn't open their eyes, they quickly gathered up the two rappelling ropes on the ground.

They went into the woods, found a place to hide, and concealed themselves to avoid being discovered.

Jackie Chan took out the grid military map he had prepared the day before, spread it out on the ground and smoothed it out, then took out a tactical flashlight and put it in his mouth.

Next, take out a compass to locate the position and begin the operation after confirming the direction.

Under the dim moonlight, they disappeared into the woods.
