Soldiers' Assault: Veteran Special Agents and New Recruits

Chapter 257 The Final Test - Wandering in the Jungle (Please Subscribe)

With a heavy heart and a sense of heartache, Miao Lian chatted with Chen Pai for two or three hours in private before bidding farewell to Zhuang Yan and Lao Pao and leaving the Devil Camp.

From this moment on, Chen Pai officially began to live one last life.

Since the end of fate is already predetermined and cannot be changed, then go all out before the end arrives and fight for yourself one last time.

That way, even if I end up in a wheelchair, I can have lived a life without regrets.

Jackie Chan and Wild Wolf had already discussed it in advance, and without affecting the overall quality of the training and selection, they began to make appropriate adjustments to Chen Pai.

On the other hand, Jackie Chan put aside his pride and did not hesitate to owe favors to pull strings.

Gao Cheng, Yuan Lang, Railway, Minister Yang...

Jackie Chan contacted all the acquaintances he could reach, asking them to help him find some effective medication for ankylosing spondylitis.

This disease cannot be cured.

However, there are some medications that can slow down the progression of the disease.

For example, drugs such as sulfasalazine, methotrexate, and thalidomide can control and alleviate symptoms, and delay the rate at which the condition worsens.

For example, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets, celecoxib, and loxoprofen sodium can relieve pain symptoms.

It's not necessary to have only one type of medicine; getting some of either is fine.

Wild Wolf also used his own channels to find Captain He Zhijun, as well as some personal acquaintances who were also involved in this kind of drug.

Thanks to their combined efforts, the first batch of medicine was delivered three days later.

Follow-up medications are still being developed.

Chen Pai cooperated very well with Jackie Chan's arrangements, taking the medication to relieve symptoms on time every day and carrying painkillers with him, taking the two medications together.

In addition, many high-intensity training programs have been canceled or changed, and replaced with relatively lighter training programs.

Chen Pai's symptoms improved significantly, and during the second phase of training over the next two weeks, he did not experience pain that affected his training.

The training has successfully entered the final stage of the second phase, culminating in the final comprehensive drill and examination.

The assessment objective is to rescue pilots.

The story is about a Chinese reconnaissance pilot who was shot down by the enemy while operating behind enemy lines. The pilot ejected but was captured and is now being held by the enemy.

Rookie Team A and Rookie Team B face a daunting task: to infiltrate and conduct a surprise rescue, then bring the pilot back.

If captured en route, the exam will be suspended. The final decision on whether to stay or leave will be based on the exam results and the student's overall training performance, after a comparative analysis.

Both Rookie Team A and Team B had players eliminated, leaving each team with only six players.

The two teams, who received the mission late at night, formed a large team of 12 people. After receiving the mission and the operation map, they officially set off northward along the route.

This operation was conceived by Wild Wolf after he became a hands-off manager and spent his days lying around in the command center.

The task is very difficult and has many loopholes.

Jackie Chan now only wants to fast-forward to the special training phase, when he can unleash his greatest strengths and use leading-edge special operations technology to personally build a strategic-level ace team.

We'll take them to real combat and train them into a true strategic elite force.

The Yunnan region has never lacked opportunities for real combat, and Jackie Chan believes that the B team he personally created will definitely become a nightmare for book peddlers in the future.

Jackie Chan has never been lenient when it comes to killing peddlers in the Golden Triangle region.

If he can kill ten, he will never kill nine and a half.

Compared to the Iron-Blooded Lone Wolf B Group that they would later create, which would wreak havoc and dominate the Yunnan region, the current special training and selection process seemed utterly boring to Cheng.

It's not much better than children playing house.

But this tedious process is an essential part of selecting outstanding special forces soldiers, and no matter how boring it is, it must be carried out.

Therefore, even though he knew the plot about rescuing the pilot, Jackie Chan didn't try to interfere or change it, making it more mysterious or anything.

Zhuang Yan still managed to show off a lot!

While most of the newbies were ambushed and captured by the enemy forces led by the coyote himself, they were to be taken back and imprisoned.

The remaining five people—Chen Pai, Geng Jihui, Ostrich, the medic, and Zhuang Yan—escaped and reunited.

Everyone else thought that with only five people, rescuing the pilot was basically hopeless and there wasn't enough time. They arrived at the rescue point at nightfall, and everyone was pessimistic, believing that the mission was impossible to complete.

Zhuang Yan stepped forward and proposed a crazy plan.

Although the five of them couldn't rescue the pilot, they could certainly intercept him on the way and rescue the prisoners who had been captured by the enemy and were about to be taken back.

In this way, they can be restored to full strength and regain their combat capability for rescue.

Moreover, if they could seize the military vehicle transporting the hostages, they could use the vehicle to travel, thus solving the problem of insufficient time.

The ostrich was initially very opposed, and the medic also felt it was too risky.

He stated frankly that robbing military vehicles is illegal.

But when Zhuang Yan righteously declared that they were now the Wolf Fang Special Forces, the instructors were the hypothetical enemy, and it was only natural for special forces to drive military vehicles.

The ostrich suddenly understood and immediately agreed to the plan.

Wild Wolf never expected these people to be so bold. Despite being repeatedly warned that being captured would prevent them from continuing the assessment, they still went and hijacked military vehicles and snatched captured prisoners.

The military vehicle carrying the hostages, caught completely off guard, got stuck in a trap dug halfway through the road and was "killed" by Zhuang Yan and his men before they could even react.

With military vehicles and the newly formed rookie A team, they drove the military vehicles all the way to control point B.

Using a stick to prop up the military vehicle's accelerator as a distraction, they charged along the road towards control point B, successfully drawing away all the enemies inside the control point.

The veteran specifically loaded explosives into the vehicle and precisely controlled the amount of explosives.

"Boom!"

The car crashed into control point B, and an explosion blew the roof off the car.

This is loaded with real explosives!

Zhuang Yan and his team immediately rushed out from the shadows, and the twelve of them easily took control of the situation, eliminating all the enemies at control point B.

They then rushed into the tent to search and found Jackie Chan, who was "severely injured".

Then they carried the person to an open area and called for helicopter support according to the mission procedure.

They thought that once the helicopter arrived, they could take the pilot with them back in the helicopter and easily end this phase of the exercise and assessment.

Unexpectedly, the wolf got angry and its expression changed faster than a Sichuan opera face-changing act.

Furious that the rookie team A was playing by its own rules and ruining their carefully laid plans, the wolves gave the rookie team A new orders.

They were told to carry 270 pounds of stones on a stretcher and back.

Why is it 270 pounds of stone?

Because Jackie Chan weighs 270 pounds, he flew back in a helicopter with the Wild Wolf, and the rookies couldn't carry an empty stretcher.

Because of that one casual remark from Wild Wolf, the rookie A team almost got worn out on their way back.

A "patient" weighing 270 pounds is truly a life-threatening condition.

The twelve members of Rookie Team A took turns carrying the vehicle, and it took them more than five hours to get back to the Devil's Camp. The hardship they endured along the way almost killed them.

Zhuang Yan's unconventional thinking and unorthodox approach during this exercise turned a potentially disastrous situation into a winning one.

This proved that Zhuang Yan possessed all the potential of a special forces soldier, making Wild Wolf value Zhuang Yan even more.

He gritted his teeth and vowed to himself, "I must forge Zhuang Yan, this stubborn piece of iron, into a fine piece of steel."

With the end of the second phase of training, the rookies are now entering the third phase of training, which is also the final phase of the intensive training and selection process.

We've gotten through this hurdle.

Rookie soldiers will be upgraded to Wolf Fang Special Forces soldiers.

The third stage is divided into two parts. The first part is an assessment.

This assessment is a unique test for Wolf Fang. Every rookie needs to pass it before they are qualified to become a Wolf Fang special forces soldier.

This place is called "Wandering Jungle"!

When Geng Jihui's father, Geng Hui, died in the line of duty, he left behind a final message.

That is, after his body is cremated, half of his ashes must be scattered in the wilderness, so that he can watch every Wolf Fang Special Forces soldier grow up.

After the second phase of the exercise and assessment concluded.

After three days of casual training, the rookies were blindfolded at midnight and taken to the edge of the wilderness, where they could not see what was happening outside.

The third phase of training for the newbies has officially begun.

The first thing to do after getting off the bus is to check the backpacks to make sure that no one is carrying food, drinks or other supplies.

The checkpoints that Jackie Chan personally oversaw inspections were staffed by officers with over twenty years of military training experience, which honed Jackie Chan's keen eye for detail.

The ostrich put the chocolate in its helmet, which Jackie Chan easily found.

Even when the medics put beef jerky in their shoes, they couldn't escape Jackie Chan's inspection.

Afterwards, each person was given a hand-drawn map, which came from the families of the Wolf Fang Brigade and was drawn based on the oral descriptions of veteran members who had been here before.

Newbies need to take this map and enter this vast primeval jungle.

By identifying routes on the map, they found their way back to their base within two and a half days and successfully returned.

In the jungle adventure segment, mutual assistance is prohibited; everyone must complete it independently.

If any gangs are discovered, they will be eliminated on the spot.

Since everyone draws a different map, whether or not you can find the base using a hand-drawn map depends entirely on your imagination and luck.

Without a detailed route map, food, or water, each person carried 30 kilograms of equipment and traversed the primeval jungle for two and a half days.

The "Wandering Jungle" training assessment is more challenging than any previous training, testing a person's extreme survival ability.

The ability to effectively apply the knowledge gained over the past two months will be key to this assessment.

After all the procedures were completed and everything was confirmed to be correct, Jackie Chan officially gave the order: "One person every ten minutes, proceed in turn. Zhuang Yan, you go first. Go."

"yes!"

Zhuang Yan answered crisply.

I glanced at the pitch-black primeval jungle. The darkness and the jungle inevitably instilled fear in me. Finally, I swallowed hard and braced myself to run in.
