Soldiers' Assault: Veteran Special Agents and New Recruits

Qin Feng was genuinely uneasy and uncertain, worried that Jackie Chan might eliminate everyone.

However, as a team leader, he is already quite calm and experienced, unlike the younger generation who can't handle small things.

No matter how anxious Qin Feng was, he suppressed his emotions.

Uphold the principle of keeping your word.

I firmly believe that Jackie Chan will not do anything reckless.

Qin Feng's decision was clearly the right one. As the best instructor in China, Jackie Chan's every step was meticulously planned.

It can maximize training effectiveness while ensuring training safety.

This is experience, but more importantly, it's skill.

The instructor's technique!

The intense training on the first and second days, along with the incorporation of team elements into each training session, subtly fostered a sense of teamwork among the participants.

On the third day after the grueling training, Jackie Chan's training intensity noticeably decreased.

It also improved the technical aspects and added unannounced testing.

The so-called "secret test" is a special training exercise conducted without prior notice to assess whether trainees have made progress during training.

The secret test that Jackie Chan set up on the third day was the core of the special operations training that had been deliberately foreshadowed in the previous two days—

Team spirit!

Therefore, after the regular physical training in the morning, Jackie Chan took the trainees to a stinky puddle in the afternoon and specially arranged an underwater survival training session.

The trainees were divided into pairs, and their hands and feet were tied with ropes. They then jumped into the water to save themselves.

Both hands were tied to the chest with rope, and the feet were only tied at the ankles. Although the rope was tied in a tight knot, it was not difficult to operate.

The main difficulty is that the underwater environment is very murky, and the only way to untie the ropes is by feeling around with your hands when there is no visibility.

Unbinding without vision, plus the need to hold your breath.

The difficulty level has been raised to a certain level.

Ordinary people certainly can't solve this, but those who can participate in the training camp are not ordinary people; their lung capacity has been developed through long-term running.

Even students who can't swim at all can stay in the water for a minute or two.

As long as you have a stable mindset and steady hands.

Theoretically, it's not difficult to solve.

Even if he couldn't untie it in time, the other team members would definitely be able to, lend him a hand, and help him complete the training smoothly.

Whether trainees have the awareness to help their teammates is a hidden test that Jackie Chan tests during training.

Selfish people, lone wolves.

Those are absolutely not allowed to join the special operations team, because once such a person enters special operations, they will inevitably become a cancer in the operation.

At best, the mission will fail and team members will be injured; at worst, the entire team will be wiped out.

By conducting unannounced exams, the possibility of intentional misconduct can be eliminated, allowing the most authentic feedback on the trainees' performance.

When the time comes, it will be clear who has this deficiency, and we can remove the cancer in advance.

No matter how strong an individual's ability is, they must be kicked out.

Back then, Cheng Cai was incredibly talented; he was definitely one of the top performers in the second tier, second only to Jackie Chan in the entire training team.

Yuan Lang insisted on not hiring him because he lacked team spirit and had too strong a sense of individualism.

Jackie Chan didn't even try to keep his own younger brother, Cheng Cai, with him. The only thing he did was send him to the cooking squad to give him a chance to repent and start anew.

Now that he's in the special operations training camp of the People's Armed Police, he'll certainly show even less mercy.

Unaware that there was a hidden test during the training, the trainees quickly completed the binding of their hands and feet with the help of the teaching assistants.

The remaining forty trainees lined up in pairs, two meters apart, around the edge of the stinky puddle.

"start!"

At Wu Zhe's command, all the trainees jumped into the water.

After two days of settling, although various dirty things are still floating on the surface of the stinky ditch, the water has actually become clearer.

However, with so many trainees jumping in together, the water became very murky.

Jackie Chan and his three henchmen were all very relaxed about the forty contestants entering the water, and were not worried about anything going wrong.

This ease comes not only from their experience, but also from their thorough understanding of the training.

The training time is only one and a half minutes. If a trainee does not come up within this time, he or she fails. If a trainee has not come up within two and a half minutes, an assistant instructor will start to rescue him or her.

The trainees were also tied with a safety rope, which could be pulled up from the shore.

The total time spent underwater was only two and a half minutes. Even if the person was choking on water the whole time, there was no danger to their life after being rescued.

At most, they would just choke and faint.

Simply drain the water and perform CPR, and you should be able to recover to normal.

On the other hand, the instructors and assistant instructors from Cheetah were undergoing such training for the first time, and they were inevitably nervous and worried due to their lack of confidence.

All the instructors and teaching assistants stood on the shore, their eyes fixed intently on the water.

Even if the water is so murky that you can't see anything.

The command center was quiet at this moment. Unusually, not a single Cheetah officer was discussing or questioning Jackie Chan's training methods.

It's not that they're not worried about the trainees.

Jackie Chan's training schedule is really tight every day. The trainees get less than an hour of sleep each day, and the rest of the time is spent on high-intensity training.

Although Qin Feng and the others did not need to train, they kept an eye on things from the command center every day.

Moreover, the trainees can sleep every day, something that people in these cities don't have.

I'll just sleep for half an hour or an hour.

They didn't even have time to sleep.

By the time it took to walk back to my dormitory from the command center, plus the time to wash up, I was basically already past bedtime.

They could hold on for a day or two, but on the third day, after managing to hold on for another half day, they could no longer manage.

With four more days of training ahead, the difficulty will definitely increase, and it will be easier for things to go wrong.

They needed more energy to stay at the command center to prevent any accidents, so they had to take a break and leave the command center early.

There wasn't even anyone to be assigned to be on duty.

After everyone has had enough sleep, we'll make a schedule and have them take turns on duty.

As the trainees entered the water, time ticked by. After thirty seconds, there were only churning water splashes on the water's edge, and no trainee appeared to have successfully rescued themselves.

Time quickly came to a minute.

Jackie Chan and his team of advisors remained calm, watching the show with their arms crossed.

The cheetah instructors and assistant instructors were getting impatient, gripping the rescue rope tightly and furrowing their brows.

They wished they could pull the person out immediately.

Unfortunately, the assessment time hadn't arrived yet, so we could only continue to wait patiently.

Compared to the scorching heat above the water, the situation below was already dire.

After this minute of emergency self-rescue, the experienced Lone Wolf and White Dragon had already freed themselves from the ropes binding their hands and feet ahead of the other trainees.

The lone wolf untied the rope, swung his hands upwards, and easily emerged from the water.

He wiped the water from his eyes and glanced down to find that Yan Poyue, who was in the same group, hadn't come out yet, so he didn't hesitate to go back down.

At this moment, Yan Poyue had already untied his hands, but he couldn't lift his legs up no matter what he did.

Whenever he tries to lift his legs and untie the ropes on his feet, he loses his balance and ends up upside down.

The water rushed into his nostrils, choking Yan Poyue and making him dizzy and extremely uncomfortable.

There was simply no way to concentrate on untying the rope.

Without outside help, Yan Poyue, in his current state, would be unable to save himself and would most likely need someone to drag him up.

Fortunately, although Lone Wolf is a solitary sniper, that's just his style of doing things.

She is still very sentimental by nature.

Lone Wolf couldn't bear to see Yan Poyue trapped. As a comrade-in-arms in the same group and a potential brother-in-arms on the future battlefield, she didn't hesitate to jump into the water to rescue him.

With Lone Wolf's help, Yan Poyue's predicament was resolved.

The ropes on his feet were untied in less than 10 seconds.

The two surfaced together, and Yan Poyue, without any pretense, immediately and sincerely thanked Lone Wolf.

The lone wolf remained aloof as always, climbing up the shore without a word.

Everything that Lone Wolf did perfectly embodied those four words—

Cold on the outside, warm on the inside!

However, even with Lone Wolf's help, their group wasn't the first to emerge from the water; another group was three seconds faster than them.

This pair consists of Bai Long and Xiao Yunjie.

Bai Long's experience and skills were better than Lone Wolf's. He didn't even need to come out of the water to see. While underwater, he could tell from the dynamics of the water around him that Xiao Yunjie, who was in the same group, was in trouble.

The fact that the water flow was very turbulent on Xiao Yunjie's side proved that he was already in a state of panic.

Therefore, without even leaving the water, Bai Long untied the ropes binding him, swam a meter to the side, and precisely grabbed Xiao Yunjie.

Then, by quickly feeling around with his hands, he determined which part of Xiao Yunjie's rope was not untied.

The rescue was carried out with precision!

Even though Xiao Yunjie hadn't even untied the ropes on his hands, the little time saved in getting out of the water allowed Bai Long to still be ahead of Lone Wolf and Yan Poyue.

As the two groups emerged from the water one after the other, the tense atmosphere eased somewhat.

There are 20 seconds left until the end.

The instructors and assistant instructors of Cheetah believed that more groups would emerge in those twenty seconds, so the probability of an accident was already very low.

that's the truth.

In the next twenty seconds, the vast majority of trainees successfully exited the water.

When the two-minute mark was reached, all 39 trainees had reached the shore, except for one who was still in the water.

Now everyone's attention was focused on the position of the last student.

The atmosphere suddenly heated up.

Time passed second by second.

The last remaining student did not come out of the water. By the time the timer reached two minutes and thirty seconds, not a single bubble had risen from the water.

You don't even need to look to know.

The student failed to save himself and even choked on water and fainted in the water.

"Pull him up, pull him up, quick!"

Cao Ben was impatient. As soon as the timer reached two minutes and thirty seconds, he shouted the order.

Upon receiving the instruction, the teaching assistant immediately pulled the rescue rope, pulled the student who had already choked on water and fainted, and immediately began to provide first aid.

The time spent choking on water is only twenty or thirty seconds, making the rescue very easy.

After pressing on his chest a few times to squeeze out the water, he pinched the philtrum and the student reacted, coughing violently before regaining consciousness.

"Okay, it's alright now."

The teaching assistant who performed the first aid stood up to report, and the anxiety that had been building up inside him subsided.

It was at this moment that...

Jackie Chan, who had been observing from the sidelines, walked over unhurriedly.

All eyes immediately locked onto Jackie Chan, including the trainees who hadn't managed to get out within one minute and thirty seconds; their hearts were in their throats.

Just when everyone thought that the contestant who not only failed but also choked on water would be eliminated by Jackie Chan.

The result, however, exceeded everyone's expectations.

"Number seven, eliminated."

"Those who fail, take a three-minute break and then begin the second training session. You can start the next subject only when you pass."

"Those who have passed, don't just stand there, get ready to do push-ups on the sidelines."

Jackie Chan issued three orders in a row. The last order was not surprising, as everyone was used to Jackie Chan's meticulous arrangements.

The second order was somewhat unexpected.

Having witnessed Jackie Chan's ruthlessness, everyone assumed that those who failed would be eliminated, and they were all trembling with fear, not daring to breathe loudly.

The result was that they didn't pass and had to keep practicing until they passed.

This put everyone at ease.

What surprised everyone the most was the first command. Contestant number seven successfully landed within one minute and thirty seconds. Why was he eliminated?

The students couldn't understand it!

Contestant number seven, who was directly involved in the incident, was even more confused and furious. He stood up and loudly questioned, "I completed the training within the allotted time, so why was I eliminated?"

Number 17 failed to complete the training on time and even choked on water; he's the one who's seriously unqualified. Why isn't he eliminated?

The question that student number seven shouted angrily was also the question that everyone had in mind.

Those with good grades were eliminated, while those with poor grades remained.

It's really very puzzling!

"You still have the nerve to complain?"

Jackie Chan, abandoning his usual smiling demeanor, raised his eyebrows and unleashed his imposing aura, startling the trainees. He raised his voice and rebuked them, "Why did I divide the trainees into pairs for this underwater self-rescue?"

The purpose is to enable you to save yourselves, to treat your teammates' lives as your own, and to know what comrades-in-arms and team members are.

Only in this way can you confidently entrust your back to your comrades when you go to the battlefield, and only then can your comrades confidently entrust their backs to you.

But what about you? You only care about your own interests and don't care about the lives of your comrades.

You had plenty of time to help Number Seventeen; you could have gotten him ashore in at least two minutes. Yet you left him alone in the water and went ashore by yourself.

"Someone like you who doesn't value the lives of his comrades and only thinks of himself, even if I let you stay, would you have the face to stay?"

Jackie Chan's voice was deep and powerful, striking the hearts of every student and leaving a profound echo.

This made all the trainees understand what true comrades-in-arms are, what teamwork is, and what the foundation for becoming a special forces soldier is. (End of Chapter)
