Regretful Beijing Marriage
Chapter 121 Fu Huaiyan Doesn't Even Love His Son
Jiang Yining had just picked up her phone, but hadn't pressed any buttons yet.
Fu Jiayu couldn't control his emotions.
All the pent-up grievances and fears he had accumulated throughout the night finally burst forth at this moment.
The boy burst into tears and clung tightly to her clothes.
"Mom, don't call...don't ignore me..."
"I ran away by myself, and they all ignored me."
"The hospital smells like medicine everywhere, I'm so scared..."
As he spoke, Fu Jiayu was trembling all over.
That kind of trembling couldn't be faked.
It stems from a deep-seated fear.
Jiang Yining immediately saw the problem, and a chill ran through her heart.
Fu Jiayu had just been kidnapped.
The shadow in my heart hasn't dissipated.
With so many people in the Fu family, not a single one thought to provide him with psychological counseling.
If someone develops psychological problems at such a young age, it can leave a lifelong trauma.
She had initially thought that Fu Huaiyan was simply indifferent to her.
She still held some affection for her only son.
But the fear and anxiety in the child's eyes right now are telling.
Fu Huaiyan didn't care about him at all.
If he cared, he wouldn't have focused all his energy on treating Shen Miaoyin's illness.
The thought only flashed through her mind for a moment before Jiang Yining quickly suppressed it.
This is a mess for the Fu family.
Everything that is happening now is the result of Fu Jiayu's own choice.
It's not her place to be soft-hearted.
She feels bad because she is a doctor.
The child in front of me is just a patient suffering from psychological trauma.
Jiang Yining knew she couldn't remain indifferent.
She bent down and gently lifted the trembling Fu Jiayu onto the sofa next to her.
Adopt a professional yet gentle tone.
"Don't be afraid. Have you been scared ever since what happened that day?"
"Has no one talked to you since this happened?"
This sentence triggered Fu Jiayu's stress response.
He clutched his head in agony, curled up into a ball, and screamed as he struggled.
"Get away! Don't touch me! It hurts..."
"Mom, help! Help me!"
Jiang Yining's pupils contracted slightly, and she immediately fell silent, reaching out to pull him into her arms.
"If you're scared, don't dwell on it. I'm here."
The situation was worse than she had imagined.
At this moment, Fu Jiayu's back was already soaked with cold sweat.
Fortunately, the clinic always keeps clean clothes for child patients.
Jiang Yining gave him a set of clothes to change into.
"After you change your clothes, lie down for a while and take a nap, okay?"
Fu Jiayu gripped her sleeve tightly and asked cautiously.
"Mom, you won't leave, right? You won't leave me alone..."
"I'm not leaving."
Jiang Yining answered very softly.
Having received this promise, the child's tense nerves finally relaxed.
He fell asleep within seconds.
But that little hand still gripped Jiang Yining's clothes tightly, as if afraid she would run away secretly.
Jiang Yining lowered her eyes, her expression inscrutable.
After confirming that Fu Jiayu was sound asleep, she got up, walked to the window, dialed Ji Shu's number, and spoke in a low voice.
"Shushu, something unexpected has come up here. I'll be back later, so don't wait for me."
Ji Shu didn't ask any more questions, but gave a few instructions.
Jiang Yining stood by the window for a while.
Fu Jiayu's condition was much more serious than that of other patients of the same age she had treated.
If left untreated, it may leave a psychological scar.
After a moment of silence, Jiang Yining picked up her phone again and dialed Fu Huaiyan's number.
No one heard.
Just when she thought the other party wouldn't answer, the call finally went through.
What came through was Shen Miaoyin's deliberately affected voice.
"Huaiyan is not available to answer the phone right now."
His tone was blatantly boastful.
"He just finished his checkup, and he was covered in sweat and feeling uncomfortable. I was just about to help him wipe himself down."
"Tell me what's wrong, and I'll pass it on for you."
Jiang Yining scoffed.
Shen Miaoyin probably doesn't really think she'd be jealous of her.
Too lazy to waste words, she spoke coldly and firmly.
"Give the phone to Fu Huaiyan."
In her eyes, Fu Jiayu was a patient.
When a child is sick, she naturally has to tell his father herself.
Shen Miaoyin's smug smile instantly split into a wide grin.
Then the voice suddenly became shrill.
"Jiang Yining, you need to know your place! You're divorced, and you're calling someone else's boyfriend in the middle of the night? Have you no shame?"
"You're just like your mother, a shameless mistress."
"A mistress?"
Jiang Yining gave a low scoff, her voice cold and indifferent.
"So you do know that someone who serves you without any official status or title is called a mistress."
"Should I broadcast the whole city the sound of you wiping a married man's body in the middle of the night?"
"You can send me some photos now, and I don't mind helping you promote yourself. Maybe if you force the issue, the Fu family will agree to let you in."
There was a sudden silence on the other end.
Then came the sound of water being overturned.
A few seconds later, Fu Huaiyan's hoarse voice came through.
Without asking about the cause and effect, without explaining a single word, he simply asked a question in a calm and indifferent manner.
"What is it?"
No explanation means default.
It seems that after their divorce, Fu Huaiyan will soon marry Shen Miaoyin.
However, Jiang Yining no longer cared.
She got straight to the point.
"Have someone come and pick up Fu Jiayu. He's at my clinic now, and he's not feeling well."
She paused, then her tone turned serious.
"His stress response after the kidnapping was obvious, and his psychological trauma must be addressed with professional intervention as soon as possible; it cannot be delayed."
"I don't understand how your Fu family takes care of children, letting them..."
Before he could finish speaking, the hem of his clothes was suddenly gripped tightly.
Fu Jiayu, who had been fast asleep, woke up at some point.
His eyes were frighteningly red, and tears were streaming down his face.
"Mom...don't send me away..."
"No one in my family cares about me, no one cares about me!"
He clutched that small piece of clothing tightly, as if grasping at the last straw, and shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Can I come with you? Don't you want your father anymore?"
"Then I don't want my dad anymore, I'll just go with you!"
"Mom, from now on, I only want you."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yining felt as if something had gently bumped into her chest.
The child who once only had eyes for Fu Huaiyan and Shen Miaoyin.
Now he's crying and begging her to take him away.
This was what Jiang Yining once wanted most.
She didn't divorce him for the sake of her son.
Unfortunately, her former son never chose her.
And now, she no longer needs it.
Jiang Yining calmly lowered her head and pried open Fu Jiayu's fingers, one by one, that were gripping the hem of her clothes.
The movement wasn't forceful, but it froze him completely.
Go to sleep.
She said softly.
"If you don't want to leave, you can stay here for the night."
Fu Jiayu was trembling all over, looking at her with teary eyes.
"What about tomorrow...and after that?"
"Mom, can't you really forgive me?"
Jiang Yining lowered her eyes to meet his gaze, her eyes clear to the point of cruelty.
Her voice was calm, and she spoke each word clearly.
"Fu Jiayu, do you remember what you said when I asked you if you wanted to go with your mother?"
"You always say you want to be a family with Fu Huaiyan and Shen Miaoyin."
"Now, you must take responsibility for your choices."
The boy trembled and cried uncontrollably.
But Jiang Yining did not soften her heart.
"I'm letting you stay the night, not because you're my son."
She paused, leaving no room for negotiation.
"It's just because you're sick, you're a patient, and I'm the doctor."
In a single sentence, the last glimmer of hope on the child's face was crushed to nothing.
Fu Jiayu's lips moved a few times, but in the end he didn't say a word.
Tears silently streamed down her face.
But she swallowed her sobs back.
Don't cry, Mom doesn't like you crying.
There was a long silence on the other end of the phone.
Fu Huaiyan's deep, cold voice finally rang out again, unhurriedly.
"Bring Jiayu to the hospital. I have something I need to tell you in person."
