Jiang Ruining raised her hand.

He slapped her hard across the face twice.

That was awesome!

"I simply don't care whether Madam loves me or not anymore, but that doesn't mean my temper has improved, or that I'm no longer the mistress of this house. Any problems that arise in the Jiang household have nothing to do with you, a lowly servant girl living under someone else's roof!"

"Who do you think you are, to dare to yell at me like that!"

Chunxi was knocked to the side, and five finger marks immediately swelled up on half of her face. She covered her face and didn't come to her senses for a long time.

Because their young lady is highly respected in the Jiang household, and all the servants treat her with utmost respect, her dignity is her dignity. To beat her in public is to disrespect her young lady!

Anger surged to the top of his head: "How dare you hit me!"

Chu Jin rebuked him, her rebuke unlike the perfunctory one she gave yesterday; it was filled with anger: "Shut up!"

Chunxi bit her lip, her eyes reddening: "Miss! She hit me in public, which is a slap in your face!"

Chu Jin frowned as she looked at her.

Chunxi realized she was angry, so she had no choice but to shut up.

Chu Jin sensed the change in Jiang Ruining. She had been rescued by her yesterday and originally intended to get along well with her.

Unfortunately, neither of the two girls were obedient, and they made the hard-won relationship a mess again.

When two intelligent people meet eyes, it's a sign of mutual understanding.

Madam Jiang, however, was enraged like a molten lava eruption, and there was no way the matter would be calmed down: "Are they all dead! Hold that lowly maid down and keep beating her! Everyone, watch this, this is what happens when someone dares to cause trouble in the Jiang household and disrespect their cousin!"

Jiang Ruining felt a sudden, sharp pain in her heart.

The original owner couldn't see through it or let it go, and even though her soul left, this body was still being affected.

He shielded Yun Mi behind him, his frail body forming a high wall for the person he cared about. He brought his emotions back to the time when his parents had ganged up on him and forced him to his death, immersing himself completely in the original owner's grievances.

"Mother doesn't just want to kill Yunmi, but also wants to kill me, her unruly daughter, before Father and Brother return, so that she can rightfully make your beloved niece the only daughter of the Jiang family, to make up for some kind of debt you dare not say in your heart?"

Chu Jin was puzzled.

make up?

owe?

What does this mean?

Madam Jiang was struck in a vital spot, her body stiffened, and she stared wide-eyed in disbelief.

Did she know?

How could she possibly know!

Jiang Ruining's gaze coldly locked onto Madam Jiang's evasive eyes: "When I was seven years old, I had a high fever and convulsions. You only stayed by my side for less than a quarter of an hour before leaving because it was thundering and Chu Jin would be scared."

"Eight years later, at this very moment, you still treat me with such cold-bloodedness. I'm burning up with fever, I'm walking unsteadily, but you can't see it, you're too lazy to ask, you're shouting and killing, you just want to eat me up."

She spoke a lot in one breath, was panting heavily, her face was pale, and her slender body swayed in the night wind.

It's as if a gust of wind will blow it down.

"Actually, I should have understood on the day I turned seven that my life was less than a tremor of Chu Jin's. But Mother, isn't it too cruel to use my life to make up for your debt!"

Madam Jiang stared intently into Jiang Ruining's eyes, and seeing the desolation within them, her heart ached more than if pierced by a sharp needle. She dared not look any longer: "What's the point of bringing up old grievances? Stop your nonsense! This wretched servant must die today!"

"Yun Mi must die today." Jiang Ruining laughed bitterly and angrily, "Then what about tomorrow? The day after? As long as I live, as long as I hold the position of the only legitimate daughter of the Jiang family, should I die every day?"

The last sentence directly exposed Madam Jiang's domineering nature, and her face turned pale.

Chu Jin supported Madam Jiang and advised her to calm down: "My cousin saved me yesterday, and she's sick today. She definitely doesn't know about the drugging. Aunt, I haven't suffered any loss, and I don't intend to pursue it. That girl has already been punished and learned her lesson. Let's just let this matter pass!"

Madam Jiang, forcing herself to maintain the air of the mistress of the house, said, "Does she not know what kind of people her servants are? It's her fault for not disciplining them properly! If I don't teach that wretched girl a lesson today, who knows what terrible trouble she'll cause in the future!"

Hearing the sarcasm, Yun Mi gritted her teeth and shouted, "According to Madam, aren't all the mistakes the young lady has made over the years the fault of Madam's poor guidance? Have you punished yourself?"

"Every time the girl makes a mistake, besides cursing her as a wretched child and belittling her as inferior to the cousin in every way, what have you done? Have you ever put in even a little effort to guide her properly?"

Everyone gasped!

How dare a servant criticize his master!

But then I felt that this accusation made a lot of sense.

The eldest daughter's impure thoughts and repeated mistakes are the result of the wife's poor upbringing.

Overwhelmed by the barrage of accusations and questions, Madam Jiang's anger instantly intensified: "Rebellion! This is outrageous! Are you all dead? Seize that vile servant!"

Jiang Ruining shielded Yun Mi behind her: "Anyone who dares to touch her today, I'll hang myself at the execution ground first thing tomorrow morning! Let everyone see how Madam Jiang drove her own daughter to her death for the sake of her niece!"

Chu Jin is Lady Jiang's Achilles' heel.

Whenever her interests were involved, Madam Jiang would hesitate to act rashly, and naturally, she was even more furious: "You dare to disobey me for the sake of a lowly servant!"

Yunmi froze, tears streaming down her face like a broken string of pearls, sobbing uncontrollably: "Miss! My life is worthless, I don't deserve your protection. I did something wrong today, and if Madam wants to beat me to death, I accept it!"

Her life was saved by her master. She always knew that her master was good to her, but she never thought that her master would risk everything to protect her!

This kindness is something I could never repay, even if I were to be shattered to pieces.

"You're still seriously ill, go back inside! Don't harm your health for my sake!"

Jiang Ruining supported her as she was about to kneel down and beg for death, and helped her straighten her back.

"Why shouldn't I protect her?" she retorted to Madam Jiang, no longer suppressing the original owner's surging emotions, letting them sweep over her like a tsunami: "She loves me! In this family now, only Yunmi and my wet nurse love me, care about my happiness, and worry about how sick I am!"

"They're not like you. Your daughter is delirious from illness, yet you can still happily choose pretty clothes for your niece! You disregard my health, barging in shouting and cursing, calling me a wicked child!"

"Tell me, if I don't protect them, who should I protect? If I can't even protect them, then I have nothing left to live for!"

The original owner was impulsive and lacked eloquence.

She couldn't express some of her emotions. Every time she was scolded, suppressed, or belittled, she would just go crazy, smashing things and hysterically shouting "biased." She never put herself in a favorable position or accurately hurt her opponent.

Every time, they end up being labeled as "immature" or "arrogant."

Now that she's standing here, there's no reason for her to suffer a loss or for the original owner to suffer a loss!

Her words resonated instinctively and intensely within the body.

My blood was boiling.

A sweet taste rose in my throat.

Ouch! A mouthful of blood sprayed onto Madam Jiang.
