Jiang Ruining raised her face.

Yunmi rolled up her sleeves, went up, dislocated the old woman's jaw, kicked her over, forcefully pushed open the courtyard gate, turned around, and went inside with her master's help!

When the old woman got up, the man was already in the yard, his eyes filled with terror: "It's over..."

The bedroom door was open.

As soon as I stepped into the room, I heard soft, gentle voices inside.

"When Jiang Ruining was pregnant, her health deteriorated. It's been so hot these past few days that she used too much ice, which brought out the root of her illness. It's nothing serious, don't worry. Your aunt will be fine after taking medicine for a couple of days."

"I originally planned to take you to participate in more plays and have more opportunities to come into contact with noble children before you come of age, so that I could arrange a good marriage for you. Unfortunately, I am so sick that I can't go on the summer vacation."

"I've wasted your time."

Madam Jiang always spoke to Chu Jin in a gentle tone, with a doting smile.

However, this kind of pampering is different from how Madam Jiang treated the original owner before the age of seven. It doesn't seem like she was pampering a younger generation, but rather like she was holding onto the young master of a creditor's family. In order to prove that she was treating him with care, she went too far.

However, it was clear that Madam Jiang's gentle demeanor was forced; it seemed she was truly suffering greatly from this sudden and strange illness!

We went inside.

I saw it was her.

Madam Jiang's smile turned cold, as if she were seeing not her daughter, but her sister-in-law with conflicting interests.

Chunxi, who was serving nearby, twitched her eyelids when she saw her come in.

Didn't we already agree with the head maid and the old woman guarding the gate that no one was allowed to tell this annoying little wretch about the lady's illness, and no one was allowed to let her in?

Jiang Ruining saw Madam Jiang's indifference, and also saw the regret and guilt in Chunxi's eyes as her scheme failed. What else could she not understand?

He walked to Chunxi, stopped, and looked at her coldly: "It's you again!"

Chu Jin was clever and immediately realized that Chunxi had offended Ningning again behind her back!

Chunxi stubbornly retorted, "This servant didn't know what Miss Ning was talking about..."

Snapped!

Jiang Ruining raised her hand and slapped him hard, making her palm feel like it was being cut by a knife.

Chunxi staggered and bumped into the wall. The side of her face that had been hit swelled up instantly, and one ear was blocked by a shrill sound, so she couldn't hear anything.

Jiang Ruining's voice was as cold as a sharp blade: "It seems you didn't heed my warning!"

Madam Jiang frowned and instinctively scolded, "To beat a servant for no reason, you are simply arrogant!"

Chunxi remained silent, covering her face and sobbing, as if she had suffered some great injustice.

Jiang Ruining scoffed, "My mother is still as indiscriminate as ever!"

Madam Jiang was furious.

Chu Jin pressed her hand down, signaling her to calm down.

He stood up, walked up to Chunxi, lifted her chin, forced her to look him in the eye, and demanded, "What did you do?"

Chunxi lowered her hand, exposing her swollen face to her master's view. She held back a pitiful pair of tears in her eyes, shook her head vigorously, and still didn't say a word.

Chu Jin's voice turned cold: "I'll ask you one last time, what did you do?"

Chunxi almost bit her lip until it bled, her expression one of utter loyalty to her master: "Everything I've done is for you!"

Chu Jin shoved her face away, her eyes turning icy cold: "What I need, you do for my own good! What I don't need, you do to harm me!"

Madam Jiang was confused: "Jin'er, what are you talking about? What did she do?"

Chu Jin took a deep breath: "Chunxi is scheming against Ningning."

Madam Jiang was taken aback.

He glanced at Jiang Ruining, pursed his lips, and seemed to regret the rebuke he had just blurted out.

Her cover-up and disregard for the servants' disrespect towards Jiang Ruining were intended to highlight Chu Jin's favor and make Chu Jin the most honored girl in the Jiang family.

But that doesn't mean she can tolerate the maid using her name to scheme against Jiang Ruining, pinning the consequences of the scheme on her, and making her bear the blame for something she didn't do!

"How dare you!"

"How noble is your mother?" Jiang Ruining casually exposed her.

"To frame me, you deliberately concealed your illness and kept me out of the house. Wasn't it just so that when someone came to visit or my father returned, you could accuse me of something bad, portray me as a cold-blooded and unfilial wicked daughter, cut off all my chances of survival, and make it seem reasonable that you have been suppressing and belittling me all these years?"

"My mother really went to great lengths to force me to my death!"

Madam Jiang was completely bewildered: "When did I intentionally have someone hide it from me...?"

He suddenly stopped.

He looked at Chunxi.

Then he looked at his trusted head maid.

How could Chunxi possibly keep the news a secret all by herself?

It must be someone influential in the main courtyard who blocked the outlet for information!

"How dare you!"

The two head maids' faces were filled with panic.

They had done this many times without failure, successfully convincing the lady that Miss Ning was selfish, unfilial, and insane, and making her even more fond of Miss Jin, who had been kind to them.

I never expected that I would be seen through this time.

They knelt down with a thud, offering what they thought was their most useful reason: "Madam, please forgive us. We just couldn't stand Miss Ning always bullying Miss Jin, so we just wanted to teach her a lesson for you."

Madam Jiang retorted angrily, "Shut up! Who do you think you are, daring to use my name to lecture your master!"

Jiang Ruining laughed, as if she had heard the funniest joke: "Mother, you've been framing your daughter for ages, why pretend you don't know anything! You two are really good actors!"

Madam Jiang was experiencing the agony of being unable to defend herself, her emotions surging wildly, and the pain emanating from her bones grew even sharper: "I didn't!"

Jiang Ruining scoffed, clearly not believing her.

She turned and kicked out twice, hitting the two maids squarely in the chest: "Yunmi, throw them out, just don't kill them!"

Two head maids, clutching their aching chests, scrambled to their feet and crawled towards Chu Jin in utter terror: "Miss Ning, please plead for us! We've done all this for you! You can't just stand by and watch us die!"

Chu Jin pulled their hands away: "When did I ever ask you to do this? You two have pushed me into a position of ingratitude, and you still dare to say it's for my sake!"

Seeing her heartlessness, the two head maids pleaded with Madam Jiang again: "Madam! Madam, please save us! We know we were wrong! We did everything to make you happy!"

Hearing them still trying to implicate her and exploit her, Madam Jiang felt a surge of anger: "Drag them away!"

Upon hearing the order, the rough-looking old woman outside immediately came in and covered the person.

Jiang Ruining added, "The old woman guarding the gate, hold her down and beat her too!"

The old woman responded and dragged the person out.

A moment later, the sound of a board striking flesh and the muffled, pitiful whimpers could be heard.

Chunxi felt a chill run down her spine. Meeting Jiang Ruining's cold gaze, she began to tremble violently: "No... I am not a servant of the Jiang family, you have no right to punish me!"

She gambled, gambled that her master valued their years of friendship and would protect her, not this annoying thing!
