Chapter 63 "Patient's Time of Death..."

Zhu Xi didn't have time to hear what Zhou Yinghuai said next.

Because the operating room's landline number called Zhou Yinghuai's mobile phone.

Zhu Xi glanced at it, "Your electricity..."

She was only halfway through her sentence when she realized the number looked very familiar.

Very few people know Zhou Yinghuai's private phone number, and it's impossible for someone to contact him using such a landline.

Therefore, he had no intention of answering the call.

Just as he was about to hang up, Zhu Xi sensed something was wrong. "It seems like this is for me."

As she spoke, she put down her chopsticks and pressed the answer button.

"Hello, this is the operating room of the People's Hospital. I'm looking for Dr. Zhu Xi."

Zhu Xi cleared her throat. "That's me."

On the other end of the phone, the nurse said, "Director Hao, the call has been connected."

Director Hao: "Zhu Xi, hurry back to the hospital!"

With just one sentence, Zhu Xi's smile froze on her face, her actions a second faster than her brain reacted.

She was thrown forward first.

Director Hao shouted those words.

Because the phone wasn't near my ear; it was quite far away.

There were also faint sounds from the operating room's specialized instruments.

Zhou Yinghuai followed closely behind. He didn't stop her, but instead ran to the side to take her bag.

"Don't worry, I'll take you."

Zhu Xi stared at him blankly, her expression a mixture of bewilderment and fear of the unknown. "Okay."

Lou Yan returned calmer than the other two.

She unplugged Zhu Xi's phone from charging, called the driver to wait at the door, and casually pulled out a power bank for her.

"Ah Huai, I'll have the driver take you. Do you have anything else to do?"

Zhou Yinghuai: "?"

"Ah Xu is on his way."

The two men were speaking in riddles, but Zhu Xi had no interest in guessing them.

She took the bag from Zhou Yinghuai's hand. "The driver will take me. You go ahead with your work."

Director Hao's phone call must mean something urgent has happened.

Zhu Xi left without looking back, without any hesitation or showing any lingering affection or reluctance towards Zhou Yinghuai.

Lou Yanhui stood at the door watching the red car taillights disappear into the distance, and sneered, "They're so eager to take back the shares of Fanzhou Technology that they gave Lou Xu back, just to give them to Mrs. Zhou as a wedding gift, but she doesn't appreciate it at all."

Zhou Yinghuai glanced at him indifferently, "If you order ten male models to be sent over, you'll just be watching them drink and flirt with each other."

Lou Yan replied, "Forgive my bluntness, but this girl doesn't seem like the type to be troubled by love. We don't have that kind of stubbornness in her bones."

Zhou Yinghuai: "Yeah, we don't have that silly stubbornness of the fourth daughter of the Huo family."

Lou Yan replied: "Huo Xi said that Zhu Xi's breakup with her ex-boyfriend did not involve any fundamental issues."

Zhou Yinghuai: "Why didn't Miss Huo's silk scarf wrap around your Adam's apple?"

Lou Yan asked, "Are the medical affairs department and the neurosurgery department far apart?"

Zhou Yinghuai: "Compared to crossing the ocean thousands of miles away, it's not far."

Each person said one thing, and the satire was quite fair.

Lou Yan returned whistling, one hand in her pocket, looking quite pleased with herself.

Zhou Yinghuai, his face serious, called the hospital. "What happened at the hospital?"

On the other end of the phone.

"Mr. Wen, this is not good."

"What?"

"All the department heads went, and the hospital director was there too."

Zhou Yinghuai: "Weren't you perfectly fine when you were discharged from the hospital?"

"Mr. Zhou, I'm not clear on the specifics either. However, the Wen family members have all arrived."

"Keep an eye on it, I'll be there soon."

Lou Yan clicked her tongue, "Don't be too eager. You'll be heartbroken if you get dumped one day."

Zhou Yinghuai: "You need to get the shares of Fanzhou Technology back for me."

"How stingy." Lou Yan Hui couldn't stand his sentimental act. "My nephew is almost dead."

Zhou Yinghuai glanced at him indifferently. "I originally had a 40% cut of the land Huo Xi owned. Now, is it just for feeding the dogs?"

Lou Yan smiled mockingly, her phoenix eyes flashing. "You're insulting your wife's best friend's man? Ah Huai, you're declaring war."

Zhou Yinghuai shrugged. "It was just a one-night stand. He doesn't count as a man."

-

The hospital, at the entrance to the operating room.

Zhu Xi rushed over.

I had a bad feeling when I saw the Windsor sisters.

She walked right past him, met with a disdainful look.

When they saw Yu Qingge and Yu Qinghua, the ominous feeling in their hearts was completely confirmed.

Yu Qingge was dressed in her finest attire, clearly having come directly from the wedding venue.

She stopped, her right hand gripping the bag strap. "Uncle Yu."

Yu Qinghua: "Did you go to the Lou family's wedding?"

Zhu Xi nodded.

"Why haven't I seen you?"

"Zhou Yinghuai had something to do, so I left with him first." She seemed a little awkward, rubbing her right elbow with her left hand. "I'll go check on the situation first."

Yu Qinghua stopped her, "Xi Xi."

Zhu Xi hesitated for a moment, but immediately understood what Yu Qinghua meant.

She took a half step back. "Uncle Yu, come this way."

Just as Zhu Xi turned to the side, the two sisters, Wen Shasha and her brother, were about to come over and start a fight.

He was deterred by Yu Qingge's glare.

Among them is Yu Qinghuan, who rolls her eyes and remains clueless.

Zhu Xi led the way, swiping her card to enter a room.

"Uncle Yu, is something the matter?"

Yu Qinghua looked troubled. "Old Wen, he..."

Zhu Xi glanced at her watch, her patience waning. "With the teacher here, he will do his best."

"Of course I believe in Director Hao's abilities. Xi Xi, I wanted to say something else."

Zhu Xi nodded, "Please speak freely."

"Qingge has a bad temper. If she said anything unpleasant to you, your uncle will apologize on her behalf."

Zhu Xi frowned slightly; it seemed she had once again become an innocent scapegoat.

"Uncle Yu, teaching my daughter is your responsibility, it has nothing to do with me." She took a breath and simply stated her position, "I am grateful to you."

"You've been good to me, and you've secretly invested a lot of money in my brother's lab. I remember all of that."

Yu Qinghua: "Why are we, as family, saying these things! You and Zhu He are both my children."

Zhu Xi chuckled, "That's not how it works. Uncle Yu, all the immense favors I received were settled the moment I married Zhou Yinghuai."

"Although, in the whole matter, I seem to be the beneficiary."

She looked up, her tone firm, "If Yu Qinghuan says anything nasty to me again, I will retaliate in my own way."

"Isn't everyone aware of my stubborn and ruthless nature?"

She smiled coldly, her eyes filled with an unyielding ruthlessness. "I'm already on duty, I'll take my leave first."

Yu Qinghua stepped aside to make way.

Zhu Xi nodded, smiled politely, and walked away.

-

After she changed into her surgical gown, she walked into the most spacious operating room.

The operating room was already cold, and she instantly got goosebumps all over.

Director Hao was on the stage, with doctors from various departments waiting beside him.

This was the first time she had ever seen such a spectacle.

Fortunately, Dr. Huang was also there.

"What's going on?" she asked quietly as she tiptoed over.

Dr. Huang gestured for her to go outside to talk.

Zhu Xi frowned; she had just come in but was pushed out again.

Outside in the corridor, Dr. Huang breathed a sigh of relief. "He was brought in by ambulance; he has intracranial hemorrhage."

"The surgery was very successful, and the recovery is going well. You were only discharged a few days ago."

Dr. Huang didn't speak too bluntly. Seeing that she was wearing makeup, he said, "It's someone else's family business. Why did the old man call you back?"

In a single sentence, Zhu Xi understood everything.

And then there were the things Yu Qinghua said outside the door.

Zhu Xi understood; it was all because of her that Old Master Wen was so angry.

The two were whispering in the corridor when a nurse came out.

"Dr. Zhu, Director Hao wants to see you."

Zhu Xi: "Coming!"

She took a few deep breaths, held her breath, and went inside.

"teacher."

Director Hao didn't look at her. "The patient's time of death..."

Zhu Xi's heart sank, and an endless expanse of deep green and blazing white blurred before her eyes.
