It's hard to quit, but it's the perfect marriage!

Chapter 8 "If there's a next time, I'll cut off your tongue!"

In the sweltering summer, his father was keeping him at the company as the young master, and he was incredibly annoyed by a pile of reports and documents.

Upon hearing one of my buddies say that, I immediately retorted, "Are you crazy?"

Zhou Yinghuai remained calm, staring out the window. "I'm married."

In the sweltering summer heat, she tossed documents aside, saying, "Do you think I'm blind? Or isn't your ring dazzling enough?"

After Zhou Yinghuai got his marriage certificate, the ring was like it was welded to his ring finger; he wore it everywhere he went.

In the sweltering summer, it would be hard not to see it, so there was no need for him to make a special phone call to inform them.

Zhou Yinghuai: "I want your house in Huanxisha."

"Zhou Yinghuai, go to the hospital if you're sick, come home and have milk if you're hungry." He nags in the sweltering summer heat, "Don't come here trying to freeload."

Zhou Yinghuai: "We need a wedding house. Huanxisha is a good choice, as it's close to Zhuxi's hospital."

"I don't care if she's offering congratulations or well wishes, it's none of my business!"

Zhou Yinghuai suddenly recalled Zhu Xi's introduction of her colleagues last night, his eyes darkening, "My wife, Zhu Xi."

A hand slammed onto the table in the sweltering summer heat, the aftershocks still faint. "Transfer the property immediately! As a gift for my brother and sister-in-law whom I've never met."

Zhou Yinghuai raised an eyebrow and hung up the phone.

Before I could even turn around, I was bombarded with WeChat messages in the sweltering summer heat.

In the sweltering summer: [When you have some free time, bring your younger siblings out to meet us.]

Zhou Yinghuai raised an eyebrow. "You're not being sincere. I won't see you."

In the sweltering summer: [I'll handle all the home renovation and furnishing; my sister-in-law can move in with just their bags.]

Zhou Yinghuai: [You submit the report, I'll ask Zhu Xi to approve it, let's see if she'll give you face.]

In the sweltering summer: [The Neurosurgery Department of the People's Hospital, right?]

Zhou Yinghuai: [?]

In the sweltering summer: [I'm scrolling through my WeChat Moments to see who has a tumor in their head!]

Zhou Yinghuai: [I think your brain is full of tofu.]

During morning rounds, Zhu Xi finally got a good look at Yu Qingge's maternal grandfather.

He was an old man who looked exactly like the grandfather next door when I was a child, with gray hair.

The old man was very thin, suffering from toothache, and in poor spirits.

I don't know if he recognized her or not, but when we met, I tried to smile at her.

Zhu Xi nodded, thus completing the formalities.

The head doctor stood in front of the hospital bed, summarized the results of the tests that had been done, and also told the family about his diagnosis.

Zhu Xi stood in the second row and received several eye rolls from Yu Qinghuan and her cousin Wen Shasha.

With Yu Qingge absent, Yu Qinghuan, who only knew how to eat, drink, and have fun, only dared to roll her eyes at her, nothing more.

It seems that the morning chat had a slight effect.

Zhu Xi pretended not to see it and kept her head down taking notes.

When she looked up again, Yue Zhishi was standing in front of her, unnoticed.

Zhu Xi stared at the back of Le Zhishi's head, her eyes glistening with tears, and smiled knowingly.

After the main group left the private room, Lezhi deliberately brushed against her shoulder and gave an arrogant hum.

Zhu Xi was in a good mood. "What? Are you repaying an evil deed with kindness by thanking me for cleaning up your mess?"

Lezhi said, "You've gone too far."

Zhu Xi said sarcastically, "I really hate how you go too far."

When Lezhi couldn't beat him, he said, "You're wearing a white coat."

Zhu Xi glanced down at herself, puzzled.

Lezhi rolled her eyes. "It's not Iron Man armor, impenetrable!"

Zhu Xi raised an eyebrow, holding her medical record book, chin held high, and said dismissively, "Then you'll have to wear a spacesuit, since you're not as good as me!"

She left immediately after her outburst, giving Lezhishi no chance to retaliate.

Unfortunately, I was called back by the director again.

In front of Wen Ming and her cousin Wen Shasha, the director assigned her a task: "Go to the dentist and get rid of the inflammation that's causing Old Wen's toothache."

Zhu Xi always listened to the director, and though she was unwilling, she didn't show it. "Okay."

Wen Ming's gaze fell on her, with that same inexplicable curiosity.

Zhu Xi was thinking that the praise Yu Qingge received from her supposed uncle on the phone was probably not genuine.

The director added, "Old Wen can't have surgery scheduled for the next few days, so just one family member can stay with him. Zhu Xi, you're the chief resident, so don't come to me with every little thing. You need to take care of things yourself."

Zhu Xi suppressed a laugh, but the corners of her lips, hidden behind her mask, couldn't be suppressed from curving upwards.

The director may have been criticizing her, but he was actually supporting her.

The point was made, but it was all implied; we were all adults, and each of us understood.

But Yu Qinghuan was short-sighted and looked down on her the most.

It's no wonder Yu Qinghuan is blamed.

In Yu Qinghuan's narrow-minded view, Zhu Xi's good fortune in getting into the neurosurgery department of the People's Hospital was entirely due to the Yu family's influence.

It was his father, Yu Qinghua, who arranged a respectable arrangement for Zhu Xi.

Therefore, she disliked Zhu Xi's aloof demeanor.

Yu Qinghuan pointed at Zhu Xi, "We demand a change of attending physician! A doctor like Zhu Xi is utter garbage, he's nothing..."

Wen Ming snapped, "Qinghuan, shut up!"

Zhu Xi scoffed, "He only started offering his advice after he had spoken; who is he trying to impress?"

She held her medical record book; everyone in the ward was considered one of her own.

Zhu Xi wasn't going to let it slide and retorted before the director could speak, "This is a hospital, not the president's office of your Zhongyu Group."

Yu Qinghuan: "You!"

Zhu Xi smiled faintly, her defiant gaze shifting from the barking Yu Qinghuan to Wen Ming's calculating and probing eyes.

"This is my job. If you can't stand me, but you can't get rid of me, then you're the ones who are suffering."

She paused, speaking at a measured pace, "I will not accept your malice, and please do not test my patience time and time again."

"It seems your sister didn't convey all my words to you. Don't mess with me. I'm Mrs. Zhou now. It was your sister who ran away from the wedding and disappeared, and your father who earnestly begged me. It was your Yu family that pushed me to Zhou Yinghuai."

She removed her mask, making no attempt to hide the disdain on her face. She slightly raised her clear eyes and said, "So, Mr. Wen, please take the child home and discipline him properly! If you won't teach him, society will! If society won't teach him, I will!"

After finishing her sentence, Zhu Xi put her mask back on, nodded politely, and took her leave. "I'm a resident doctor, I'm always at the hospital. You can contact me if you need anything."

As she left the ward, she saw Rakuchi, now a ghost, around the corner.

"Eavesdropping?" Zhu Xi squinted, his voice deep.

Lezhi retorted, "Who's eavesdropping? We're in the same group. I'm just worried you'll mess things up and offend people, causing me to lose my job."

Zhu Xi: "Really?"

"yes!"

Lezhi pursed her lips, decided to give up entirely, and shook her arm affectionately.

"Oh, I only eavesdropped for a little while."

Zhu Xi rolled her eyes at her, shook off her hand, and strode away.

Lezhi chased after him, "Okay, I admit I tried to eavesdrop, but I didn't hear anything."

"Hey, Zhu Xi, everyone's saying you got married, is it true?"

"Is that the handsome 188cm guy who came to see you last time?"

"He's quite handsome, and he must be very rich. What does he do?"

Zhu Xi suddenly stopped and pinned Yue Zhishi against the wall.

Their eyes met, and Lezhi, who was half a head shorter than her, shrank back, saying, "Don't hit someone in the face!"

Zhu Xi chuckled. "You're very interested in my husband?"

Lezhi waved his hands repeatedly, "No."

"Then why are you asking so many questions?"

I care about you.

Zhu Xi lifted her chin. "Are we that close?"

Lezhi stared into Zhu Xi's bright, sparkling eyes and remained silent.

Zhu Xi withdrew her wrist, glanced at her, and strode away.

Lezhi jumped around aimlessly, saying, "You've already cleaned up my mess, aren't we familiar yet?"

-

Le Zhishi was in charge of all the affairs in Wen Lao's ward throughout the day.

Perhaps it was because of the gossip circulating in the hospital, perhaps it was because Zhu Xi had wiped my bottom too many times, or perhaps it was because she deliberately incorporated some subjective speculations into it.

Lezhi added some melodramatic elements to Zhu Xi's story.

Zhu Xiyue was relaxed and didn't have to look at the ignorant faces of her cousins, Yu Qinghuan.

In June, the days are stretched out inch by inch.

Before we knew it, it was already late.

After finishing her work, Zhu Xi left the nurses' station and ran into Yu Qinghuan on her way back to the dormitory.

Zhu Xi put his hands in the pockets of his white coat. "A good dog doesn't block the way."

Yu Qinghuan scoffed, "What are you pretending to be so high and mighty for!"

Zhu Xi raised an eyebrow, apparently she hadn't vented her anger enough during the day.

"Yu Qinghuan, my aloofness is not an act; it's something I earned with my college entrance exam scores."

"Stop bragging! The Medical School of Libei University is full of talented people. If it weren't for my family, would you have been able to get into this top three neurosurgery school in the country?"

Yu Qinghuan poked her shoulder with her fingertip and sneered, "Zhu Xi, don't think that marrying Zhou Yinghuai will turn you into a phoenix. A chicken will always be a chicken."

Zhu Xi nodded in agreement and raised her hand to stroke her long hair.

Her eyes held a smile, her face gentle. "Right? A chicken can't become a phoenix. You are a phoenix, so why didn't your father send you to the Zhou family?"

Yu Qinghuan stomped her foot in anger, successfully humiliated, "You!"

Zhu Xi's eyes turned cold, and the hand that was holding her hair suddenly tightened, while her free hand gripped her chin.

"Yu Qinghuan, you didn't have a chance to bully me before, but don't even think about tearing the gauze off and stuffing it into my mouth now. It's disgusting!"

Zhu Xi, enraged, forcefully shoved the man against the wall, shouting, "If this happens again, I'll cut off your tongue!"
