All-out Tower Defense: My Card-Drawing Talent is a Bit Strange

Chapter 126 Unexplained Loyalty?

Yang Fei, who had entered a state of complete absorption, slowly came to his senses five hours after the defensive battle began. He stared blankly at the battlefield, unable to come back to his senses for a long time. When Lola once again directed the troops to adjust their attack strategy, Yang Fei's brain finally remembered that he was still on the defensive.

Looking at the dwindling experience points remaining in his body and feeling the significant improvement he had already made, Yang Fei had a sudden realization: Is this what enlightenment in battle feels like? It's pretty awesome! His body was autonomously absorbing experience through his cultivation technique, which was far more efficient than the "ascetic" practice of meditation.

If I had a few more chances, I might be able to become a non-ranked martial artist within a month. Becoming a non-ranked martial artist before the novice assessment officially begins is something no one on the entire Azure Star has been able to do, and I would be considered a super genius!

The key is that this practice combines his previous favorite meditation and asceticism techniques with the efficient method of absorbing experience to enhance his abilities. By combining the advantages of both, he can maintain both the stability of his ascetic practice and the high efficiency of absorbing experience to level up, which is a win-win situation.

The only regret is that this kind of enlightenment during battle is rare and hard to come by. I'm already quite lucky to have encountered it this time. I probably won't be able to have it a few more times. I should just stick to my regular training.

"My lord, it's time to eat." A sudden voice rang out from behind Yang Fei. Yang Fei was startled and hurriedly looked behind him, only to see Mona taking a thermos out from between the two mountain peaks.

Then, the succubus opened the thermos, took a sip of the crystal-clear rice porridge, and came to Yang Fei's side. Before Yang Fei could react, he had already been fed a mouthful of imported rice porridge.

"What time is it now? How long have I been in this state?" The space inside the Ice Arrow Tower attic is not large, and Yang Fei is a little restricted in his movements, not to mention Mona, who is three meters tall. Yang Fei was pulled into Mona's arms without any resistance and began to be fed bite by bite.

"It's been five hours. Everyone has taken turns eating their fill, but you, Lord, have entered a state of enlightenment. We didn't want to disturb you, so I've been waiting here." Mona said softly after feeding Yang Fei another mouthful of rice porridge.

"Oh." Yang Fei did not resist. Due to the continuous enlightenment, the fatigue of five hours had gradually surged into Yang Fei's body. He had no strength to resist at all, so he could only lie down in Mona's huge bosom and quietly observe the battlefield situation.

"Ding, 1331 standard humans have been detected to have met the basic requirements and their loyalty to you has exceeded the basic value. They have automatically become your Sky Island citizens. Ding, your subordinate elf citizens have been detected to have exceeded the neutral-friendly level of loyalty and have all been promoted to the loyal level. You can now assign them any work at will."

The familiar notification sound rang out, and Yang Fei, who was kissing Mona, froze. What happened? Why? I didn't do anything! How did they turn out like this?

It's understandable that over a thousand standard humans met the basic requirements to become his subjects, because under normal circumstances, these refugees from another world, who are similar to local natives, would have to maintain a neutral to friendly attitude if they wanted to join the Sky Island. That is, they would have to have a loyalty of over 60% as a baseline for subjects, and then, with the lord's consent, those people could become subjects.

In addition, if these people live on the lord's sky island without the lord's consent and their loyalty to the lord increases to over 70%, which is pure friendliness and leans towards 80% respect, they can directly join the lord's territory and become sky island citizens.

However, the lord has the right to make a second decision regarding these subjects. If the lord does not agree, these subjects will still be excluded from the Sky Island and will not enjoy the treatment of normal subjects. Because of the special way these subjects increase their loyalty, their loyalty to the lord will generally not drop below the baseline value after being rejected by the lord.

As Yang Fei's Sky Island grows stronger, the refugees from that other world who understand tower defense games will naturally come to realize that Yang Fei might be a super-powerful figure. Furthermore, with Yang Fei's basic and partial guarantees being genuinely implemented, it was predictable that their loyalty would increase for the refugees whose home planet had been overrun by endless zombies. Yang Fei wasn't surprised by their joining him.

Yang Fei had previously discussed the topic of "the unpredictability of human nature" with Qian Duoduo. Life is full of intrigue, let alone a world where order is out of balance and interests need to be redistributed. Yang Fei could accept that the soldiers of Qianwu Star had their own code of conduct, but he did not want the six thousand refugees to band together.

This situation is exactly what Yang Fei wanted to see. The official forces of Qianwu Star have a cooperative relationship with him, and some of the ordinary residents of Qianwu Star must be loyal to him and become his lackeys to help him govern the remaining residents of Qianwu Star.

Yang Fei only needs to secretly help these people and wait for them to form a new order before he can truly accept these refugees from Qianwu Star. Otherwise, since only Yue Lingling is loyal to him in the entire survivor group, Yang Fei will never give these people important positions. These people are even more dangerous than the immigrants from his home planet who have diverse personalities and are obviously not loyal to him.

The refugees from Qianwu Star joining Yang Fei's territory can be understood in this way, but how did those 330 elves go from a basic 60% loyalty to him to 100% unwavering loyalty? There's no reason for it! Yang Fei couldn't convince himself either, because he really hadn't done anything.

"My lord, when I went to deliver lunch to those elves, I told them about the power system of this world. After listening to my explanation, perhaps their inherent arrogance resurfaced, and they felt that they were capable again."

"After all, the magical expressiveness of their world is not far from that of the Archmage, so those elves want to rebuild their civilization here first, and then, after adapting to the new cultivation system, they will take revenge on that person." Looking at Yang Fei, who was gradually falling into deep thought, Mona chuckled softly and buried Yang Fei's head in her broad chest.

"Huh?" Yang Fei was stunned by Mona's words. What did she mean by taking revenge on that person after adapting to the new cultivation system? Were those elves so arrogant that they thought they were some kind of super genius?

Moreover, from the perspective of the world's structure, this doesn't make sense! Do those elves really think that it's easy to adapt a magic system from a primitive planet that has existed for less than a million years to a cultivation system that has existed for countless millennia in a boundless world?
