All-out Tower Defense: My Card-Drawing Talent is a Bit Strange

Yang Fei never believed in luck or chance. He believed in the truth that all gifts of fate had a price tag attached beforehand. Being selected as a beta tester seemed like good luck, but in reality, he lacked the experience of those who had passed the game before.

The daily talent draw has both advantages and disadvantages. One wrong move and all the previous efforts may be in vain. Not to mention that Yang Fei does not trust this game of angels at all. This thing always gives him a strange feeling, making him keep guessing that the angel it represents is going to be in a worse direction.

Red Heart Jujube Tree (Green Common): It is a fruit that has gradually transformed from an ordinary jujube tree over a long period of time. Its fruit contains an extremely high concentration of spiritual energy and is used as a material for refining spirit-restoring pills or other items. At the same time, because it still has the property of being able to transform, it can purify the spiritual energy in the body when consumed for a long time.

Spiritual Rice (Green Common): One of the basic food crops, a high-end version of True Qi Rice. It matures once every three years and is a one-time crop. It is supplied to martial artists and Qi Refining cultivators and is beneficial for increasing the spiritual energy in the body.

Purple Grape Wine (Green Common): Made from the fruit of the green common quality spiritual plant—Purple Crystal Grapes. After about ten years of aging, it is rich in spiritual energy. Drinking it can appropriately restore the spiritual energy consumed by high-level martial artists and low-level Qi Refining Realm cultivators.

One Commoner Recruitment Card (Green): Can be placed in the Commoner Recruitment Hut, replacing fifty recruitment opportunities. Randomly recruit fifty refugees from all realms. Remember, it's random. Although they are grateful to you, you, as the lord, need to treat these poor refugees seriously and increase their loyalty.

War Corridor Expansion Card (Green Common): One of the most basic War Corridor Expansion Cards, with no special function or effect, which can extend the War Corridor by fifty meters.

Looking at the five rewards given by the Heavenly Dao panel, Yang Fei temporarily suppressed his unease. Since he was already here, he might as well make the best of it. It wasn't time to think about the reasons behind it, because he was simply too weak.

Let alone a true cultivator, even a martial artist could crush me without any defensive towers. I have no control over my own fate right now. Thinking too much will only lead me into a state of depression caused by needless worries. It's better to focus on the present.

"The War Corridor Extension card is a must-have. Regardless of the effects mentioned later, the effect of extending the War Corridor alone is unbeatable in the early stages of a tower defense game."

"Moreover, the monster siege I'm currently experiencing is with slimes, a species that doesn't have any special abilities and can only hop forward. These things are just as useful to me as a green arrow tower."

"As for the rest, the pot of wine is out of the question. Not only is it useless now, but it's also a consumable that can only be sold cheaply. The jujube tree and the spirit rice are about the same value as my tea tree, and there's no need for them either. So, I can only choose the leader recruitment card."

After directly selecting the War Corridor Expansion Card, Yang Fei looked at the remaining four rewards and couldn't help but smile bitterly. At this stage, these four items could only be sold cheaply, and their only use was recruiting subjects.

After all, although he didn't like to please these troublemakers, the Sky Island still needed them to function. Whether it was developing agriculture or working the logging camps, it couldn't do without these troublemakers.

After making the selection, the other three rewards returned to the angel statue and disappeared. The option to open the secret realm was no longer available, and the countdown for the next opening had changed to seven days.

After taking a deep look at the angel statue, Yang Fei arrived at the city wall and used the War Corridor Expansion Card. The God's-eye view reappeared, and the original 100-meter War Corridor gradually emerged from the void and quickly extended by 50 meters.

Looking down from God's perspective as the war corridor was extended, Yang Fei smiled. He hadn't expected to obtain such a treasure. The upcoming defensive battle should be no problem. If he weren't so tired, he would have loved to start the next wave of monster attacks right now.

Withdrawing his gaze, Yang Fei approached the leader recruitment hut with a complicated expression. After much deliberation, he decided to use the recruitment card. There was no other way; although he didn't like it, someone had to use the lumberyard and the upcoming quarry he had built, as well as the True Qi Rice seeds he possessed.

Moreover, according to the experience of the predecessors, there are requirements for the number of subjects, their loyalty, and their happiness when upgrading the quality of core buildings in the future. Although I can recruit subjects from Azure Star, I cannot rely entirely on those who have no loyalty to me in some important matters.

Loyalty is both a weakness and a strength of these unruly people. The weakness is that you need to please them to improve their loyalty, while the strength is that it can be directly observed and quantified. You can check their attitude towards you at any time and thus assign tasks accordingly.

"Come on, there's no need to hesitate. Although they vary in quality, they still have a basic level of loyalty once recruited." After thinking it over, Yang Fei had no more hesitation and directly used the green recruitment card.

The card transformed into a ray of light and entered the recruitment hut. The wooden door of the recruitment hut slowly closed, and the blue light screen inside gradually changed from stillness to becoming a blue door. Various data for this recruitment began to slowly appear on the door.

Because of the use of props, Yang Fei had no way to choose the recruitment method or the number of recruits. Random recruitment, a quantity of 50—these were fixed and couldn't be changed; Yang Fei could only watch.

Soon after, the recruitment data was confirmed, and the precious card was completely integrated into the light gate. The blue light gate slowly opened, and a human figure slowly walked out. After confirming that the person waiting outside was the one he had expected, the corners of the figure's mouth slowly curled up.

Yang Fei looked at the open wooden door with a slight nervousness. A beautiful woman appeared in front of him. She was about 2.5 meters tall, with black bat wings on her back and fair, almost transparent skin. She looked somewhat unreal. Upon closer inspection, Yang Fei could even see the thin, pale blue blood vessels under her skin.

On her delicate oval face, a slight smile curved her lips, and her pink eyes curiously looked Yang Fei up and down, who was staring blankly. At the same time, a heart-shaped tail swayed restlessly behind her, seemingly unusually excited.

"A succubus?" Looking at the increasingly restless female creature in front of him, Yang Fei finally came to his senses, took a small step back, and blurted out the question subconsciously. Upon seeing this, the magnetic creature in front of him blushed slightly and seemed to move a few more steps closer to Yang Fei.

"Dear..." The female creature before him leaned forward slightly, her explosive figure surging forward. A seductive voice, welling up from the depths of her heart, was about to escape her lips when she suddenly stopped. The succubus pursed her lips involuntarily before continuing to speak.
