Night Rose

Chapter 1 Breakup Chapter

"Three days of absence without leave is considered automatic resignation. You haven't contacted me for two months, so our relationship is over."

I'm officially informing you today that we're breaking up.

Su Jin sat in the waiting area, suppressing the surging emotions in her heart, and sent a breakup message.

Her flight notification sounded at the airport. She put away her phone and embarked on her journey back home.

Su Jin and Lu Mingzhou had been dating for five years and thought they would walk down the aisle together. However, the events of the past few months have forced her to re-evaluate their relationship.

In the face of reality, what does five years matter? Faced with the prospect of personal gain, Lu Mingzhou did not hesitate to abandon himself.

Su Jin crossed her arms, and amidst the countless memories flashing by, she suddenly recalled a crazy night she had with a certain dog-like man who only knew how to bite people half a month ago.

That night, under the layers of shadow, the two of them could only see each other's superior bone structure.

Su Jin desperately needed a bit of passion to cover up the pain of the past few days, and she gripped the other person's strong arms tightly.

Kiss me.

The man kissed her without any tenderness.

A deep tooth mark was left on her red lips, and pain struck instantly, but Su Jin found it sweet.

Her heart has been numb for too long, so it doesn't matter if her body hurts or she suffers a little more.

Su Jin kissed the man's earlobe, her breath sweet as orchids, "Tonight, let me feel the pain. Okay?"

After her drunken revelry, she no longer remembered the man's face, but her body still remembered her reactions...

Su Jin rubbed her arms vigorously, pulling herself out of her crimson memories. She listened to some sleep-inducing audio and forced herself to sleep on the plane.

After an unknown amount of time, the cabin lights came on softly, and the flight attendant's voice woke the passengers.

"Good evening, passengers. It is now 11:45 PM Beijing time. Our flight has landed in Nanyuan. Please take your belongings and disembark in an orderly manner."

Su Jin woke up from the exhaustion of the long flight. She put on sunglasses to cover her red and swollen eyes and got off the plane with her carry-on luggage.

A newspaper was left on her seat, the front page of which prominently featured the headline "Nanyuan Rally Opens," accompanied by a picture of a cool and stylish race car speeding along.

The start date was marked with a large red marker.

When she stepped onto the land of Nanyuan, she took a deep breath, expecting to be filled with the fresh green mountains and clear waters, but instead she was met with the exhaust fumes of an old Santana.

"Hey beautiful! Need a ride? It's late at night, it's not safe for someone as pretty as you to be out there."

The passenger window rolled down, and a man with yellowed teeth, stained from cigarette smoke, gave her a lewd grin.

Su Jin shuddered involuntarily. "Thank you! No need, I'll take a Didi."

"Wow, city folks are so particular! Let me see where you're going to hail a Didi." The driver said, unbuckling his seatbelt and getting out of the car.

Su Jin sensed something was wrong and was about to retreat back to the small airport behind her when she bumped into a solid chest.

The man's hormonal scent wafted over her, and she instinctively tried to dodge, but he was faster than her. He darted forward, kicked the Santana, and slammed the door shut.

With a loud thud, both the driver and Su Jin were stunned.

Su Jin turned her head to look; the man was nearly 1.9 meters tall, and she had to look up to see his arrogant face.

The man had a short, shaved head and an arrogant look on his face. His muscular body was wrapped in a black sleeveless vest, and his exposed wheat-colored skin looked healthy. With his long arms and legs, he looked like a model in a poster.

But the moment he opened his mouth, he shattered the atmosphere of a male model.

"Liu Laosan, didn't I warn you? If you keep soliciting customers here, I'll break your manhood!"

……

Su Jin had read many books and met many people, but this was the first time she had ever met a man who spoke so vulgarly.

"Brother Zhou! Look, I'm just passing by, right? Get lost!" Liu Laosan said obsequiously, not daring to say more. Before he could even fasten his seatbelt again, he stepped on the gas and drove off.

There weren't many cars outside the airport, and they kept their distance; no one dared to approach.

Realizing the danger posed by the person beside her, Su Jin turned around and headed back to the airport terminal. Regardless of whether she had a return ticket or not, she was determined to leave!

A hand gripped her suitcase tightly.

"Sis, where are you going? All the flights for today are canceled, the airport's closing. I'm not trying to rip you off! Just think of it as taking a... beep beep!"

"No need! I'll sleep at the airport tonight. Besides, who are you calling 'sister'?!"

Zhou Zheng looked at Su Jin's mature woman's outfit with his eyes without explaining. He was only twenty years old, so what was wrong with calling her "sister"?

He raised an eyebrow, tore off her boarding pass from her suitcase, and glanced at it.

"Do you think this is Beijing or Shanghai? Sleeping here for one night? Are you out of your mind?"

Su Jin reached for her boarding pass, forgetting about her luggage.

Zhou Zheng's trick worked. He simply picked up the suitcase with one hand and put it in his car. "Get in."

"Hey beautiful, if you don't like Brother Zhou, come to my place! I'll give you a ride!" A driver leaned out of his car and whistled at her.

Su Jin glanced at the white Volkswagen parked in front of her. Although it was an old model, at least the interior was clean and there was no smell of smoke.

The man wasn't in a hurry. He got into the car, placed his long, slender fingers on the steering wheel, and tapped it heavily.

"I'll only charge you 100 yuan to get to the city center from here. Go ask other people; it'll cost at least 200 yuan at this time."

Su Jin glanced back. In the pitch-black background, none of the cars had their headlights on, making them look eerie and terrifying. No one knew what might happen if someone got into one of the cars.

Inside the car in front of them, a small light was on, and a man was casually leaning against the car, fiddling with a pink pig pendant.

Su Jin gritted her teeth, got into the car, and took a deep breath.

"Go to the biggest hotel in the city."

"Okay." Zhou Zheng readily agreed.

The car drove off steadily. Unlike his usual style, he drove exceptionally steadily, making Su Jin feel drowsy.

The man turned on the car's infotainment system, which was playing a midnight playlist.

The wild and romantic style, the polished feel of heavy metal is like a stone rubbing against your eardrum.

Su Jin really couldn't appreciate this style. She patted the back of the chair and said, "Master, please change the channel. It's too noisy."

"You don't know how to appreciate it, sis."

Su Jin was too lazy to argue with him about whether she was the older sister or the younger sister. "Let's change the channel, can I add twenty?"

"The customer is king." Zhou Zheng started cutting the table.

This time, it's the racing channel.

"It all feels like it was just yesterday at the New York Rally. It's such a pity."

Nineteen-year-old contestant Li veered off the track, crashed into rocks, and his car exploded, costing him first place.

Topchain's investigation revealed that the accident was caused by the use of the wrong parts by the only female racing engineer on the team during race car optimization.

What are your thoughts on this?

Su Jin sat in the back seat, her arms trembling slightly uncontrollably. She wanted to tell Zhou Zheng to turn off this damn radio station!

But when she heard the familiar voice, it was as if her soul had been ripped away; she could only stare helplessly at her own body and listen to the judgment on the radio.

The man's warm voice came from the radio, as gentle as if he were whispering sweet nothings in her ear.

"Sherry is a young female racing engineer; she is excellent and outstanding."

I insisted on including her in the team despite everyone's objections, but I never expected that she would make such a simple mistake.

To give the public an explanation, the company has fired Sherry, and further investigation results will be released after Lee regains consciousness…

Zhou Zheng cursed under his breath, but Su Jin didn't hear it; she only knew that he had changed the channel again.

Su Jin's floating soul finally returned to her body. A warm current surged up from the gastric tube. She covered her mouth, but couldn't stop feeling nauseous and vomiting.

A red plastic bag was thrown from the front seat.

"Spit in the car, and I'll add 500 for a car wash!" Zhou Zheng glanced at her disdainfully in the rearview mirror.

Su Jin's pretty face turned deathly pale. Ignoring the plastic bag, she vomited violently until she emptied her stomach.

She didn't know how long the car had been driving when she felt unwell and fell asleep in the back seat, her fingers still hooked with the filth from the plastic bag.

The car stopped by the roadside, and Zhou Zheng, with a fierce look on his face, snatched the trash from her hand and threw it into the trash can next to her.

When she woke up again, Su Jin didn't dare rub her eyes, as they hurt even more.

The person in the driver's seat was gone, and a faint red light shone in the darkness outside the window.

Zhou Zheng rubbed his face, which was stung by the cold wind, and was about to switch legs to support himself when he heard the car door open.

He turned around, lighting his cigarette up and down, "Oh, God's awake."

Behind him was the city's largest hotel, not particularly luxurious, but at least it gave him a sense of security, like being back in the city center.

"How long have you been standing there?" Su Jin asked.

Zhou Zheng raised an eyebrow, rubbed his neck, and tapped his watch; it was almost two o'clock.

"About forty minutes."

"Thanks……"

"Add another forty."

Just as Su Jin was about to thank him, her heart was dampened by the man's greedy nature.

She expressionlessly took out two hundred and fifty yuan from her wallet and patted it on Zhou Zheng's chest.

"Keep the change, there's plenty of tipping money."

Su Jin went into the hotel without looking back and booked a luxury suite for a month.

She took off her sunglasses, revealing tired, red, and swollen eyes. She applied ice to the surrounding skin, hoping that the swelling would subside by tomorrow.

In the quiet of the night, her phone rang.

The caller was the same person who had heard the gentle male voice on the car radio.

The three characters "Lu Mingzhou" flashed on the screen.
