Night Rose

Chapter 19 Whoever doesn't dare is a coward.

"You almost broke my hand!" the blond-haired man roared.

Zhou Zheng, nearly 1.9 meters tall, took a step forward, staring intently into his eyes with an imposing gaze. "Then don't be so impulsive!"

The blond-haired man was completely overwhelmed by Zhou Zheng's height and dared not utter another word, a typical bully who preys on the weak.

He flinched, took a few steps back, and bumped into his teammate.

His teammates were clearly speechless and chuckled a few times.

A tall, refined-looking man stepped forward. He wore the same black team uniform, which looked particularly pleasing to the eye. He extended his hand.

"Excuse me, he's just habitually prone to touching things. I'm He Zhangxing, the captain of the Zhuling Caravan. And you are?"

Zhou Zheng slowly put his hands back into his pockets, showing no intention of shaking hands. "Zhou Zheng."

He Zhangxing didn't mind his rudeness at all. He smiled and lowered his hand, his gaze sweeping over the group. When he saw Su Jin, he showed a surprised expression. He didn't expect there to be a woman in this caravan.

He then thought, maybe it's the team manager.

So, without looking at anyone else, he walked straight to Su Jin, extended his hand again, and said, "Hello, I am He Zhangxing."

Su Jin glanced at Boss Tu, who had a displeased expression, gently took his hand, and shook it politely. "Su Jin."

"Did you also book a track today? Are you going to test drive?" He Zhangxing asked familiarly, without any discriminatory tone or mockery.

Tu Ying immediately replied, "Yes!"

"It seems they made a mistake and booked both teams," He Zhangxing said with a smile.

"Actually..." Su Jin wanted to explain.

They have no reason to lie; such an easily exposed lie will only make them feel more ashamed when the truth is revealed.

He Zhangxing spoke first: "In that case, why don't we test drive the car together, Miss Su?"

Su Jin narrowed her eyes, sizing up He Zhangxing, who had a sincere expression on his face.

Generally speaking, two teams will not test drive together, for fear of revealing the performance of their cars and the abilities of their drivers.

He Zhangxing invited them to test drive together. Was he trying to see if they posed any threat? Revealing their strength now would be bad for the team, but being able to compete with other teams would also allow her to better understand her own team's capabilities.

"If Miss Su is worried about us peeking, how about we go on the track and run a few laps first, and then you can have the rest of the time?" He Zhangxing suggested.

"Zhang Xing!"

The fleet manager had just finished talking to the security guard and learned that they were the only fleet that had made a reservation today. These few random people were nowhere to be found, so there was no need to give them any attitude.

Upon hearing He Zhangxing's words, the manager immediately pulled him aside and whispered, "Zhangxing, don't worry about them. They didn't even make an appointment. Besides, how can that beat-up car compare to ours?"

"Manager, I don't agree," He Zhangxing said seriously.

"You..." The manager was speechless. On the surface, this team listened to him, but in reality, they listened to the He family.

He Zhangxing patted him on the shoulder, smiling innocently, "Alright, it's okay, you know we're going to win."

Their conversation went unheard by others, but Tu Ying felt uneasy. "My little lie wasn't a big deal, was it? We can't refuse to let us in because of that, can we?"

Su Jin said in a low voice, "If you knew you would be exposed, you would still lie."

"I infiltrated the convoy for the sake of the team, didn't I?" Tu Ying whispered, his eyelids lifting slightly as he spoke rapidly, as if his lips were burning, "He's here, he's here!"

He Zhangxing returned and walked up to Su Jin. "Miss Su, let's go. Our manager has agreed."

Su Jin glanced at the manager's expression; it didn't look like agreement. But as long as they could get in, who cared whether others were happy or not?

"Okay, thank you."

The automatic door at the main entrance opened, and He Zhangxing smiled and nodded to her before leading the team inside.

Su Jin watched his retreating figure, wondering whether she should race against their team later.

A breath of hot air blew from behind her ear, startling her. She turned around abruptly and saw Zhou Zheng's face very close to hers.

"What are you doing?" Su Jin's heart tightened.

Zhou Zheng stared at her departing figure, noticing her lost in thought, and casually asked, "What are you daydreaming about? Are you mesmerized by that handsome guy?"

Su Jin was about to retort, thinking that Zhou Zheng was talking about her, but then she thought again, wait a minute, Zhou Zheng was staring at those people in front of him, could he be talking about He Zhangxing?

"Yeah, the handsome young man asked us if we wanted to have a competition with them? Do you dare?" Su Jin turned to look at him.

"Anyone who doesn't dare is a coward! But can our car even compete with their four-ring car?" Zhou Zheng deliberately provoked her.

Su Jin wasn't buying it. She smiled and patted Zhou Zheng on the shoulder, "If my racer's skills were as good as yours, I'd definitely beat him. If you win, I'll give you a carbon fiber helmet."

"Okay, you said it." Zhou Zheng nudged her, then started doing some light jumps to warm up. "How much did this helmet cost? Was it expensive?"

"That's expensive. Given how stingy your boss is, he definitely won't buy it for you." Su Jin randomly searched for a style online and showed Zhou Zheng the price that popped up.

Eight thousand!

Zhou Zheng glanced at it and jumped even more enthusiastically, "This is too much of a expense for you. Remember, Little Fatty should get one too."

"Honestly, if you can beat He Zhangxing today, you'll have a very good chance of winning the race," Su Jin said earnestly.

"I'm telling you, that kid looks like a professional racer, unlike someone like me who's only half-baked."

"So you're only half-full of knowledge? I always thought you and Little Fatty were just the bottom of the bucket."

Su Jin pinched a section of her little finger and showed it to Zhou Zheng.

Zhou Zheng laughed angrily, "Then what makes you think we can win?"

"Of course it's because my race car has been modified well; I've already won seventy percent of the time." Su Jin touched the front of the car; the race car she had worked with had a completely different feel for it than before.

"Don't wreck the race car, Boss Tu still needs to return it! Drive carefully."

"So, should we hold back, or do we want to beat that handsome young man?" Zhou Zheng asked.

He thought Su Jin would hesitate for a while, but to his surprise, Su Jin looked at him seriously with a focused expression.

"Regardless, your safety is the most important thing. I only came here today to look at the data, not to see who wins."

Zhou Zheng rubbed his neck. "Got it. You and Tu Ying just wait. Carbon fiber helmet, don't even think about escaping."

"Sure, I'll be waiting for your good news," Su Jin said with a smile.

The four-person car slowly drove into the venue, and this time, the people watching from the sidelines were Su Jin and Tu Ying.

The venue staff provided them with racing suits and helmets, which didn't fit perfectly, but there wasn't much to complain about.

Wang Tianle was both excited and nervous; the tightness of his clothes made his breathing quicken.

"Brother Zhou, are we going to race against Four Rings? Their cars look so cool, are we going to lose badly?"
