Night Rose

Chapter 44 Flirting Seems Familiar

The blond-haired man, clutching his helmet, mumbled in response, "There won't be any mistakes, Brother He."

"Hey, Captain He, scolding someone?" Zhou Zheng said as he passed by, his words sharp and unforgiving.

He Zhangxing gave him a cold look, not wanting to waste words with him, and pretended that he didn't exist.

After the route survey, there will be another opportunity for a test run.

After the test drive, the track will be closed until the start of the race. These two test runs are hard-won, as they are their only two opportunities to familiarize themselves with the track.

After Zhou Zheng and Wang Tianle tried driving it a second time, they were both more confident.

Back in the tent, Su Jin was summarizing their data when she heard footsteps behind her and recognized Zhou Zheng.

Su Jin beckoned with her finger, and someone leaned in from behind, one hand resting on the table, their warm breath brushing against her ear.

"Hmm? What's wrong?" Zhou Zheng asked.

"How are the tires adapting?" Su Jin asked the person behind her while recording data. "I still need to make some minor adjustments to the suspension. You can be a little bolder when cornering."

"It's alright, pretty good." Zhou Zheng said honestly, "The cornering is better than before, so I shouldn't be completely outmatched by He Zhizhang."

Su Jin turned around, her eyes smiling, "Brother Zhou, his name is He Zhangxing."

Zhou Zheng was pleased to hear Su Jin call him "Brother Zhou." "Who cares what he's called? Watch me leave him in the dust during the competition."

The competition is scheduled for the last five days, giving the team five days to rest.

Su Jin followed the group back to the tavern. She was organizing data, and Zhou Zheng sat next to her, drinking lemonade.

A glass was placed in front of Su Jin, but she didn't touch it, as she was engrossed in the data on the computer.

Zhou Zheng was bored, so he propped his chin up and looked at the data alongside him. But he couldn't understand it, and after staring at the screen for a while, he got sleepy.

He slumped onto the table, tilted his head to the side, and fell fast asleep.

When Su Jin went to get the lemonade, her fingers touched her prickly head. She turned her head and saw Zhou Zheng sleeping on the table, his face turned towards her.

His sculpted features softened their usual sharpness, melting away the harshness between his brows and eyes, like a sword sheathed.

Su Jin was mesmerized. Her fingers lightly touched the air, like dancing on piano keys, and then traced downwards, brushing against the tip of his nose and the corner of his lips...

His cheeks were very hot, and the heat from the corners of his lips made Su Jin immediately want to pull her hand back.

Su Jin was fast, but someone else was even faster.

Zhou Zheng grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him, his lips brushing against her wrist as if through her pulse, and kissed her.

"Someone's stealing," Zhou Zheng said sullenly. He lifted his eyelids, but drowsiness made him too lazy to open them, so he closed them again.

Seeing that he was not fully awake, Su Jin ignored him and just wanted to pull her hand away as soon as possible.

But the more she struggled, the harder Zhou Zheng exerted himself.

Suddenly, Su Jin remembered that Wang Tianle had said that Zhou Zheng had a bad temper when he woke up.

So she could only coax him gently, "Let go of my hand, okay? You're hurting me."

Zhou Zheng opened his eyes again, his gaze unfocused, as if he were looking through her at someone.

That voice, that coquettish tone, it all seems so familiar.

"you……"

"Huh?" Su Jin didn't hear what he said clearly, so she leaned closer and waited for him to speak.

Zhou Zheng smelled the perfume on her, which was almost identical to the woman from that night. He took a deep breath, a surge of anger rising in his lower abdomen, and immediately released Su Jin's hand.

Su Jin was somewhat dazed when her hand was shaken off.

She glared at Zhou Zheng, then took pity on him and didn't get angry. "Considering you're grumpy in the morning and you have a competition in five days, I'll let it slide. I'll save it for later!"

Zhou Zheng ignored her, put his head inside her arms, and only slowly exhaled after the discomfort subsided.

He muttered under his breath, "Damn it!"

Su Jin closed her laptop and, after finishing everything, realized that the person lying next to her hadn't left. Zhou Zheng had changed his position and was watching videos.

Various videos scrolled across his fingertips. He would linger a little longer on food videos, but when he came across a dance video, he would watch it for a while without expression before scrolling away. After several videos in a row, he never liked or commented on them.

"Are you a robot? The instructions you received are that you can only watch videos but not like, comment, and share?" Su Jin asked softly.

Zhou Zheng held up his phone so she could see it. "Never."

"I don't believe it!" Su Jin crossed her arms.

Zhou Zheng chuckled and tossed the phone to her.

Su Jin scrolled to his homepage and took a closer look. Sure enough, he had no likes or favorites.

The comment section was completely silent, not a single comment.

"How pathetic, doesn't he have any friends?" Su Jin pointed to his followers and followers, both of whom had zero followers, which were proudly displayed on his homepage.

"They're too annoying, I don't want to pay attention to them." Zhou Zheng snatched back his phone, his face indifferent.

Hearing him say that, Su Jin chuckled, held out her phone, and said, "Then I'll follow you, remember to follow me back!"

She remembered Zhou Zheng's ID, tapped a few times with her finger, and sent the verification message.

Zhou Zheng said he didn't care about others, but when Su Jin sent her application, it was approved immediately.

"Su Su?" Zhou Zheng raised an eyebrow, remembering how her ex-boyfriend used to call her Su Su.

"Hmm, what's wrong?" Su Jin didn't think there was anything wrong at all. There were many people in the world who called her Su Su. Her parents and grandparents all called her that. Lu Mingzhou learned it from them.

Seeing that she didn't care, Zhou Zheng calmly opened Su Jin's homepage.

This person's life is clearly much richer than mine; her homepage has photos, videos, and even a picture of her with the Statue of Liberty.

Zhou Zheng couldn't help but burst out laughing, which immediately alarmed Su Jin. She leaned over to see what he was laughing at.

"What are you laughing at?"

Zhou Zheng clicked on the post, raised an eyebrow, and said, "Remember? Before we met for the second time, I told Little Fatty that some idiot gave me a tip and thought this place was New York. We don't have a Statue of Liberty here."

Su Jin laughed. Her eyebrows and eyes were already beautiful, but her smile made them even more relaxed, bringing out her beauty to the fullest.

"After staying here for a while, I've discovered that Nanyuan is quite beautiful."

Zhou Zheng was captivated by her beauty and, unusually, didn't argue with her. Instead, he asked about something else: "You saw me at the auto parts factory before, didn't you?"

"what?"

Su Jin stared at him as if she'd seen a ghost, her almond-shaped eyes wide and her lips trembling slightly. "You...how did you know?"

She thought she had hidden it well.

"I saw you." Zhou Zheng propped his head up and looked at her. "I saw you the first time you went there."
