Night Rose

Chapter 56 His Father

He Zhangxing was forcibly pulled away by the manager. Once the surroundings quieted down and there was no one around, the two continued their conversation.

Wu Ting smiled and looked Zhou Zheng up and down. "Let me introduce myself again. I am your father's private secretary. Zhou Zheng, it's an honor to meet you for the first time."

Zhou Zheng rubbed his wrist, his eyes filled with displeasure. "You're following me? What does he mean by that?"

"It's not stalking. President Zhou knows you have a match today, so he specifically asked me to come and check on you," Wu Ting replied.

Zhou Zheng knew what the old man was thinking. Now that he couldn't force himself to go back to his company to work for free, he could only pretend to be a responsible father and monitor him by showing concern for him.

Unfortunately, some people miss out on childhood, and no matter how hard they try later in life, they can never make up for the lack of childhood.

"Did I bring you here to take a look?" Zhou Zheng squinted, staring at the camera in Wu Ting's hand.

No wonder I felt like I was being secretly photographed; it was him.

Zhou Zheng acted quickly, snatching the camera from Wu Ting's hand.

Wu Ting was ultimately just a secretary, not a bodyguard. By the time he realized what was happening, his hands were already empty.

Seeing his camera being snatched away, Wu Ting hesitated for a few seconds before deciding not to try and grab it back.

This young master might eventually go back to inherit the group, and for him to compete with Zhou Zheng is tantamount to going against his superior.

Zhou Zheng flipped through the photo album one by one; it was full of pictures of him—profile shots, front shots…

It was almost like paparazzi were following celebrities relentlessly; they even took photos of him wearing a helmet and talking to Wang Tianle.

With each photo he turned, Zhou Zheng's anger intensified. When he came across a picture of himself and Su Jin looking at each other across a crowd, his anger reached its peak.

"Stop taking pictures of me and the people around me without my permission!" Zhou Zheng said sternly.

Wu Ting nodded. "President Zhou didn't intend to do anything to the people around you; he just wanted to understand you better. President Zhou understands that if he were to harm anyone else, you would never forgive him."

As soon as he finished speaking, Wu Ting's pupils contracted.

Zhou Zheng raised the camera high and slammed it to the ground.

"Snapped!"

The camera body was shattered into pieces, and the lens was completely smashed to pieces.

The camera, worth tens of thousands of dollars, instantly disintegrated in his hands. Not satisfied with that, he picked up the main body and smashed it again.

The loud noise attracted the attention of nearby staff, but Wu Ting raised his hand and waved it outwards, signaling them to leave.

The staff recognized Wu Ting and did not rush forward upon seeing this.

"Young man, don't act impulsively. Your dad just wants you to come home for a meal. Aren't you going to celebrate the championship with him?" Wu Ting said softly.

Wu Tingmo was about thirty years old, wore frameless glasses, and was a refined young man.

However, someone who can become the private secretary of the president of the Zhou Group at such a young age is definitely not a good person.

"He has a wife and children, why would he want to have dinner with me? And you, don't you know that taking photos without consent is illegal? If this happens again, I'll call the police and let everyone see what kind of person the president of the prestigious Zhou Group really is," Zhou Zheng said coldly.

"Sorry, I won't take photos secretly anymore."

Madam and Young Master are President Zhou's relatives, and so are you.

He felt bad about the unpleasant ending in New York last time and wanted to make it up to you. You can ask him for it yourself; seize the opportunity.

Wu Ting handed over a business card.

That was Wu Ting's personal business card, with his phone number printed on it, as if telling Zhou Zheng that if he changed his mind and wanted to have the meal, he could contact him anytime.

Zhou Zheng showed no intention of reaching out. "Don't take this opportunity. Get lost."

"Don't speak too soon, I think you might need it." Wu Ting insisted on handing over his business card.

Zhou Zheng took it, glanced at it, then crumpled it into a ball, threw it on the ground, stomped on it a few times, raised an eyebrow at him, and said, "I already said, no need!"

After saying that, Zhou Zheng turned and left.

After he left, Wu Ting stared in his direction, lost in thought, and then suddenly chuckled.

He crouched down and pried the memory card out of the shattered camera body. The memory card was well protected and almost undamaged, so there was a high chance it could be read.

"It's a pity that our young master doesn't understand the principles of cameras at all."

Wu Ting stuffed the memory card into his pocket, raised his chin, and beckoned the staff who were loitering nearby.

"Please clean this place up. If there is any damage, please contact me."

"Okay, okay!"

The staff member took the business card with the shoe print on it and put it away with trepidation.

Zhou Zheng walked to the bathroom with a heavy heart, washed himself clean, and wrapped himself in his new clothes.

He remembered that Su Jin was waiting for him, so he hurried over.

Su Jin was not seen in the circle he drew.

Zhou Zheng's heart sank. Where did she go? Had he wasted too much time and she simply left?

Zhou Zheng was unwilling to give up, so he lowered his head and took out his phone to call Su Jin.

A cup of ice-cold coffee was suddenly pressed against his cheek, making him shiver.

"Is it very cold?" Su Jin smiled and withdrew her hand, her cheeks slightly flushed, as if she had just run over.

"Did you go buy coffee?" Zhou Zheng asked.

Su Jin nodded. "Yeah, I got a little bored while waiting, so I went and bought a coffee. You can't drink something this cold right now, so don't blame me for not buying it for you."

She took a sip of her iced coffee, feeling incredibly refreshed, and exclaimed, holding the cup, "What a wonderful day! My race car driver won the championship; both the car and the driver performed exceptionally well!"

Zhou Zheng suddenly stepped forward, forcing Su Jin back into a corner, bracing himself against the wall with one hand, and approaching her with a serious expression.

"Your race car driver?"

Su Jin stared at him with her beautiful eyes. "What's wrong? Is there a problem?"

Zhou Zheng couldn't help but break down in laughter, "No problem, you're my engineer too."

They only touched on the point.

Su Jin still felt uneasy, remembering how he had carried her on his shoulders earlier. She asked him hesitantly, "Why did you carry me just now? The media took pictures."

Zhou Zheng's expression froze. Oh no, he had been too cocky and had forgotten about this.

However, he wasn't afraid that the old man would actually do something. If the old man dared to make a move now, then he would truly be childless for the rest of his life!

Zhou Zheng would rather change his surname than return to the Zhou family and inherit some kind of conglomerate.

"Let everyone see how amazing you are as an engineer. You're beautiful and technically brilliant. It would be such a shame not to let people see you," Zhou Zheng said.

Su Jin has countless appearances. During the day, Su Jin is dazzling and powerful, and everyone should be able to see her.

At night, only he can see Su Jin; no one else can touch her!

Su Jin didn't know what he was thinking, but she was touched by what he said. "Well, thank you, my champion racer! Let's go, Tu Ying messaged me saying he's tired from the interviews and wants us to go back."

"Have those reporters left?" Zhou Zheng asked cautiously.

Su Jin glanced outside; most of the people had already dispersed, but it was possible that some were still lying in wait.

After all, she used to work at the top chain and had seen all sorts of scenes. Today's scene was too ordinary. In a major race, the racers would definitely be blocked in a wall of people, and the company would require the athletes to give interviews. It was impossible for them to skip class like this.

"Put on your mask, let's slip away that way, let's leave the car here for now." Su Jin pulled a mask out of her pocket, scratching her face sheepishly. "This is one I used, if you mind..."

Before she could finish speaking, she hooked her finger over the mask and put it on her face. The mask still carried Su Jin's scent, a faint and alluring fragrance.

Zhou Zheng openly grabbed her hand. "Let's go!"
