Night Rose

Chapter 75 As expected of a race car driver

"In a few days," Su Jin replied with a smile.

Li Qi watched her figure disappear at the street corner. Aunt Li pushed him into the ward and asked him in a low voice, "Did you tell Miss Su what was on your mind?"

"...Mom." Li Qi lowered his head shyly and fidgeted with his fingers.

In the past, perhaps after winning the championship, he would have had the courage to express his feelings to Su Jin.

Now... he doesn't dare anymore.

"I'm still young," Li Qi whispered.

Aunt Li was amused by him, and her previous gloom vanished. She replied repeatedly, "Yes, you're still young. Let's talk about dating later."

Li Qi smiled too, thinking that a woman as outstanding as Su Jin would have even better opportunities.

Su Jin sat in the car, resting with her eyes slightly closed.

She had been so busy lately that she had almost forgotten to contact people back home, but then she suddenly remembered Zhou Zheng.

Oh no, it seems she hasn't spoken to Zhou Zheng for days.

Su Jin took out her phone to check the messages.

Sure enough, the message Zhou Zheng posted three days ago was pushed down, and she didn't reply after reading it.

She patted her forehead, realizing she had been so busy lately that she hadn't been able to focus and hadn't replied to anyone's messages.

She clicked on it and stared at the message Zhou Zheng had sent.

Zhou: Are you free? Give me a call.

For some reason, Su Jin could sense a hint of indifference in those words.

She scrolled through her messages and realized that she had declined Zhou Zheng's call invitations twice. There was also a time difference between her replies and the messages, so they didn't actually have many hours to chat.

Su: Sorry... I was too busy and forgot to reply. Call me when you wake up!

The lawyer took Su Jin to her apartment, said a few words to her, and then left.

Su Jin returned to her apartment, took some time to take a shower, cleaned herself thoroughly to wash away the bad luck of the past few days, and sat on the sofa drying her hair.

Zhou Zheng was still asleep and couldn't possibly reply to her message.

As she dried her hair, she missed Zhou Zheng, his annoying voice, his 1.9-meter height, and how he was like a thorn in her side, yet somewhat docile in her presence.

She could tell Zhou Zheng the truth she had kept from him all along after returning to China, hoping he wouldn't mind that she hadn't revealed her true identity before.

After all, Sherry was a notorious engineer at the time, so who would dare to let her interfere with racing? Only Tu Ying, an outsider, who wanted to enter rally racing, dared to drag her along to fill in.

She was absentmindedly blowing her hair when her phone suddenly rang.

Su Jin looked down and saw it was a call from her friend.

"cocoa."

"Sherry! I'm in New York on a business trip, come pick me up!" Ling Keke's excited voice rang out on the phone.

Su Jin jumped off the sofa, almost forgetting to put on her slippers, "You're in New York?!"

"Yes! I wanted to give you a surprise!" Ling Keke's cheerful voice almost popped out of the phone.

Su Jin happily replied, "Okay! Where are you? Wait for me, I'll come pick you up."

Ling Keke gave an address, and Su Jin changed her clothes, simply tied her hair back, and drove her own car to pick up Ling Keke.

Ling Keke stood on the street wearing a thin trench coat, her long legs exposed under her tight-fitting bodycon skirt.

Her long hair fell over her shoulders, and the flowing strands framed her delicate face.

Upon seeing Su Jin's car, she immediately blew a kiss and almost jumped up on the street.

The car window rolled down, Su Jin lightly kissed her fingertips, winked at her, and returned the kiss, "Get in the car."

Ling Keke nimbly climbed into the car, grabbed Su Jin's arm, and said, "It's been so long, honey! I've missed you so much. I've thought about you every single day while you were gone."

"I miss you too." Su Jin hugged her.

The two hugged and cuddled for a long time before Ling Keke reluctantly let go. "Let's go, come drink with me!"

"Miss Ling, I can't hold my liquor after just a few drinks, do you want me to drink with you?" Su Jin replied with a smile, but still navigated to a lively bar.

"Besides you, who else can have a drink and chat with me? Those who drink are all business people; it's all just empty talk over drinks. It's meaningless." Ling Keke shrugged.

"Okay, I'll keep you company. Go ahead and drink. Drink until you're completely drunk, and I'll carry you back home," Su Jin said.

Ling Keke chuckled, "It won't be easy to get me drunk. You'd have to find a handsome guy to drink with, that would be more fun."

"Fine, whatever you say."

"By the way, have you sorted out your matter with Topchain?"

Su Jin explained the handling of the top-tier chain to Ling Keke, who nodded in agreement. "That's about it. It's pretty realistic. It's good that we can get compensation. Let those two bitches taste what it's like to be targeted by the entire internet! Let's see who dares to hire them!"

Su Jin didn't reply; she just smiled.

When they arrived at the bar, Ling Keke got out of the car first, her eyes gleaming.

"I worked overtime for a whole week to prepare for this business trip! After a week without going out, I really need to recharge."

Su Jin parked the car and shuddered when she heard her words. "We i people recharge at home, unlike you e people who treat participating in activities as a way to recharge."

"Okay, baby, stop talking and come with me to find a handsome guy."

Ling Keke pushed Su Jin inside, her eyes shining as she looked at each muscular man with his shirt wide open, casting admiring glances at him.

The bar was dimly lit and the music was loud and heavy. Su Jin felt that Zhou Zheng must have something in common with the bar's DJ.

They sat down in a booth, and a waiter came over to take their order.

Ling Keke and Su Jin hadn't eaten yet, so they ordered some food to fill their stomachs, and Ling Keke also ordered a glass of juice for Su Jin.

"Don't say your sister doesn't care about you. If you can't drink alcohol, just have juice. I won't force you to drink with me. If you get dizzy, we might not be able to get home today."

"Okay, don't worry, I'll definitely get you back." Su Jin shouted into her ear.

Ling Keke's ears itched, and she hugged Su Jin, laughing heartily, "Where's your handsome little brother? Have you won him over yet?"

Su Jin raised an eyebrow and sat up straight. "I guess so?"

"Wow, he's so demanding! Even my baby can't handle him?" Ling Keke exclaimed dramatically.

Su Jin took a bite of her fries and drawled, "It's not that I have high standards, it's that I'm difficult to deal with."

"How handsome is he? Let me see!" Ling Keke winked and smiled maliciously.

Su Jin happened to have a photo on her phone, but it was a photo of her and Zhou Zheng together.

Ling Keke is her best friend, so there's nothing she can't show her.

Su Jin generously showed her the photo, "What's up? You're following me? This photo went viral after I won the championship, okay?"

Ling Keke exclaimed "Wow!" repeatedly, clicking her tongue and saying, "No wonder he's a race car driver, the tension is practically overflowing the screen, isn't that amazing?"

"Cough cough cough..." Su Jin almost choked on her juice. She patted her chest, tears welling up in her eyes as she coughed. "You really are..."

"Isn't that right?"
