Night Rose
Chapter 91 Getting into Trouble
This time, Zhou Zheng was exceptionally gentle and obediently did not bite.
The two of them struggled from the room to the bathroom, which was steamy and uncomfortable.
After Zhou Zheng carried her out, he held her tightly and refused to let go, insisting on getting close to her pillow and lying down next to her.
Su Jin still had some strength left to hold him tenderly. She pressed her cheek against Zhou Zheng's and gently kissed the corner of his mouth.
"The stress is gone!"
"Are you really trying to fool a child?" Zhou Zheng opened his mouth fiercely to bite her lip, but remembering her words of advice, his bite on her lips turned into a gentle nibble.
"How can you not be a child anymore? You're only nineteen."
"I'll be twenty soon," Zhou Zheng immediately retorted. He didn't want Su Jin to treat him like a younger brother at all; he had to make her remember that he was her boyfriend, her man.
"When is your birthday? What gift do you want? I'll get it for you." Su Jin cupped his face and asked earnestly.
"I don't need any gifts, just stay with me. My birthday is two weeks before my mother's death anniversary," Zhou Zheng said softly, a hint of sadness flashing in his eyes, which he quickly concealed, not wanting Su Jin to be sad with him.
Su Jin noticed his mood and immediately kissed him. "Then I'll go with you to visit Auntie, okay?"
"No problem at all. As long as you don't mind, I'll take you," Zhou Zheng said.
"How could I mind? It's a promise." Su Jin stretched out her little finger and insisted on making a pinky promise with him.
Zhou Zheng was a little reluctant; wasn't this just child's play?
But since it was Su Jin who initiated it, he still reached out and hooked his little finger with hers, pulling her hand back.
"Okay, let's sleep." He pulled her back into his arms, his chest pressed against her back, his chin resting on the top of her head, their breaths and heartbeats very close.
Su Jin complained in a low voice that his head was too heavy. She tried to push it away but couldn't, so she just let him be.
The next morning, Zhou Zheng got up early to cook for her and then personally took her to the high-speed rail station.
He bought a ticket to accompany her into the station, but when it came time to see her through the turnstile, he couldn't bear to part with her.
"I regret it. I should have kept my distance."
Zhou Zheng hugged her tightly. She was only going to a place that could be reached in two hours by high-speed rail. People who didn't know her would think that she was going to leave for a distant place and never come back.
"I'm not going back to New York, why are you so reluctant to let me go?" Su Jin buried her face in his shoulder, only her eyes showing.
She was embarrassed to look at the stares of those around her, afraid they would think it was strange for a couple to be so affectionate.
She would never have done something like this before; she was very restrained in public with Lu Mingzhou. But with Zhou Zheng, she didn't want to let go and couldn't bear to part with him.
Zhou Zheng paid no attention to others and held her tightly, refusing to let go.
Only when Su Jin's train ticket information rang did he reluctantly release his arm, freeing Su Jin from her near-suffocation.
"You asked me to leave, so you're not allowed to cry now that I'm gone," Su Jin said deliberately.
Zhou Zheng sighed, "You can go now."
"Okay, you're really leaving now." Su Jin waved and turned to blend into the crowd.
As soon as she turned around, a strong urge to stay overwhelmed her. She concluded that her love-struck mind had kicked in again, so she had no choice but to resist turning back.
It wasn't until she got into the car that she felt a little melancholy and opened her phone to send him a message.
Sue: Get on the bus, you should go back now. [crying kitten JPG]
Zhou Zheng had just stepped out of the high-speed rail station when he saw the message on his phone. He replied while standing in the blazing sun.
Zhou: You lost.
Su: ?
Zhou: You cry first.
Su: I think I bought my return ticket too early. I can stay a few more days and then change my ticket.
Zhou: [Crying Kitten JPG]
Su: Be good, wait for your sister to come back, don't cause trouble.
Zhou Zheng smiled and put away his phone.
In an instant, his expression turned cold, and the corners of his mouth fell down.
He doesn't want to cause trouble, but trouble always seems to find him.
Grandpa had indeed gone to exchange techniques with his chess friends. On the balcony, flowers sent by Aunt Su were drying. The branches had been trimmed and were almost fully formed, just waiting to bloom so that they would be at their most beautiful.
Zhou Zheng moved a small stool to the balcony and tidied up the dozen or so potted plants that his grandfather had grown. He pruned their branches, cleaned up the withered petals, and watered and fertilized them according to the different types of flowers.
Before we knew it, time flew by.
With nothing else to do, Zhou Zheng finished tidying up the flowerpots and then prepared dinner for his grandfather, keeping it warm in a pot.
Three car horns sounded downstairs.
Someone passing by exclaimed, "Oh, a Bentley? We don't know anyone in our neighborhood who drives a Bentley!"
"I've never seen you before. Are you here to pick someone up?"
Zhou Zheng took off his apron and hung it on the wall, then heard three more beeps from downstairs.
He went to the balcony and, sure enough, Wu Ting, dressed in a black suit, was standing at the Bentley entrance, like a greeter.
If he didn't come downstairs, Wu Ting would probably let the whole neighborhood know that Bentley was there to pick him up.
Zhou Zheng, concerned about his image, put on sunglasses and got into the Bentley before the third time he uttered the warning, saying, "Hurry up and get out of here, don't embarrass yourself."
Wu Ting closed the door for him and reminded him, "Young Master, this is a Bentley, there's nothing shameful about it."
"I meant you embarrassed yourself, not the car," Zhou Zheng said coldly.
Wu Ting, as expected of someone who worked under Zhou Ruian, remained unfazed by such humiliation, showing no signs of being surprised by either favor or disgrace.
Wu Ting calmly sat in the passenger seat. The driver had already been given instructions and was heading towards the most bustling area of Nanyuan.
The car stopped at the most upscale shopping mall, and Wu Ting gestured for Zhou Zheng to get out.
"This looks like a shopping mall, not the Zhou family's place. We agreed to have dinner, but Mr. Zhou has changed his taste and wants to eat in a small place like this?" Zhou Zheng mocked, not intending to get out of the car and remaining seated.
"The family dinner is at the Zhou family villa, but you are dressed too simply. Please change your clothes."
He didn't mean to discuss it; he was simply informing Zhou Zheng.
Zhou Zheng used his eyes to carve knives on him, "I've always worn this, and I don't need anyone to think it's wrong."
"Please don't make a scene. If Mr. Zhou gets angry, I might call your friend back to discuss business again," Wu Ting said calmly, adjusting his glasses.
"You dare threaten me!" Zhou Zheng grabbed Wu Ting's coat, raised his fist, and aimed it at Wu Ting's face, as if to punch him. "If I punch you again, I wonder how many of your teeth you'll be able to keep?"
Upon hearing this, Wu Ting showed no fear or flinch. "If you attack me, I will retaliate, but I certainly won't retaliate on your face."
Zhou Zheng cared too much about the people around him, and even though he was so angry that he couldn't speak, he didn't attack Wu Ting again.
With a long stride, he stepped out of the car.
Wu Ting nodded in satisfaction, straightened his clothes, and led him to a high-end ready-made suit store.
"We were supposed to have a suit custom-made for you, but we didn't know your size, so we had to bring you here to buy one on the spot. The quality is very poor, please bear with us."
When the salesperson heard him say that the quality of their suits was too poor, he almost couldn't keep his composure and rolled his eyes so hard they were practically pointing to the sky.
"This shirt I'm wearing costs fifty yuan," Zhou Zheng said dismissively, tugging at his short-sleeved shirt.
