Online dating backfired? A wealthy heir begged me to continue lying to him.

When Professor Chen saw that Professor Wu remained silent, he frowned and pouted.

"Hey kid, I'm not going to poach your talent. I just want to get to know them, maybe they can keep each other company, right?"

Professor Wu smiled.

lol.

"Old Chen, what are you thinking?"

"Because the genius you're looking for is both far away and right before your eyes..."

Click.

The loud slamming of the door swallowed up Professor Wu's next words and drew the attention of everyone in the room.

Zhou Mingke, the vice dean of their School of Integrated Circuits, walked in with a solemn air.

As soon as he entered, his gaze first fell on Lu Yanci, and then on Professor Chen next to him.

His expression was solemn and grave, making it clear at a glance that something terrible was about to happen.

"Vice Dean Zhou, what happened?"

Professor Chen gently blocked Lu Yanci's path and asked.

Professor Wu also looked at Vice Dean Zhou with a solemn expression, waiting for him to continue.

Zhou Mingke looked at Professor Chen, then at Professor Wu.

"I should have discussed this with you privately, but since you asked, I'll talk about it here."

"We received an anonymous tip in the principal's mailbox, saying that someone got into the research team through connections in the research project you led, Professor Chen, which was spearheaded by Lu Yanci."

"If this gets out, it will have a very bad impact, so I came here specifically to ask you about the details."

Professor Chen was completely baffled.

"You know Lu Yanci's team, right? They're all elites who have been selected through rigorous screening. There's no way they'd get in through back channels."

Lu Yanci's face darkened.

He had already guessed who they had anonymously reported.

Those people had only made a few sarcastic remarks on the school forum before, which Su Ruan didn't care about, and he didn't take it to heart either.

I never expected those people would dare to send a complaint letter to the principal's mailbox.

This is clearly an attempt to escalate the situation.

"Who is it?!"

Just as Zhou Mingke was about to say a few words to comfort Professor Chen, he heard Lu Yanci ask coldly.

He continued to explain with a cold expression, "I don't know. The principal's mailbox received an anonymous report about your newly recruited research assistant, Su Ruan."

"Tell me honestly, is this student named Su Ruan problematic or not?"

"Our principal's office has verified that Su Ruan's GPA has been just over one point for several years, which is far below the standard for excellence."

"The whistleblower letter also includes a complete photo of Su Ruan getting out of your car early this morning. They are accusing you of abusing your power for personal gain and engaging in underhanded dealings."

"Lu Yanci, tell me, what exactly is going on between you and that classmate named Su Ruan?"

"What happened?"

Lu Yanci smiled.

"It would be ridiculous to conclude that I had an affair with her and that I abused my power simply because she got out of my car."

"And about GPA, which you mentioned earlier, it's true that for most students, GPA is proof of a person's ability. But there's a different kind of person, like Su Ruan."

"Vice Principal Zhou, don't forget that Su Ruan entered our school as the top scorer in the province."

"Who would believe she could only pass her exams?"

"Then her GPA is only around 1.something!"

Vice Principal Zhou looked into Lu Yanci's eyes and said in a deep voice.

"So what?"

"If I wanted to, my GPA could still be 1."

Vice Dean Zhou took a deep breath and stared intently at Lu Yanci.

This kid is way too arrogant.

But Lu Yanci certainly had the right to be arrogant.

Top-tier intelligence, top-tier execution ability, and top-tier financial support.

"Then she doesn't meet the requirements either."

This was Vice President Zhou's final insistence.

"Conditions? What conditions? When we were recruiting assistants, we didn't mention any GPA requirements," Lu Yanci said calmly.

Vice President Zhou choked.

"We are looking at her overall abilities and her knowledge base."

"She has met all the requirements."

"Furthermore, as a research assistant who is currently a third-year undergraduate student, Su Ruan has made significant contributions to our project. I remember we reported that, right?"

Vice Dean Zhou fell silent.

When they first received this report, the vice deans on the fifth floor were quite shocked for a while.

However, they all agreed at the time that it was just a coincidence.

It's normal for students to have special talents or intuition in a certain area at their school.

Lu Yanci continued, staring into Vice Dean Zhou's eyes, and said, "Since our recruitment guidelines don't specify GPA requirements, shouldn't the compliance of her GPA be disregarded as a factor?"

"As for her abilities, regardless of what others may question, she has made significant contributions to our project, which is undeniable. Therefore, this point is also invalid, right?"

"this……"

"So, what's your relationship with this classmate...?"

Lu Yanci's expression darkened.

"When did academic work become intertwined with personal relationships?"

"Speaking of relationships, I have a good relationship with Professor Lu and a decent relationship with Professor Wu. Speaking of which, I'm also quite familiar with you. Does that mean I got in through connections? Do I also need to prove myself to everyone?"

Vice Dean Zhou snorted irritably, "You're different. Your grades have always been excellent, which is obvious to everyone and there's no room for doubt."

"But this student named Su Ruan is different; she lacks strong evidence."

"The significant contributions you mentioned in the experimental project don't necessarily prove her actual abilities. What if you discovered it yourself and then told her?"

Lu Yanci was so angry he almost laughed.

"According to Vice Dean Zhou's statement, wouldn't Su Ruan be unable to prove her abilities?"

"Because no matter what achievements she makes, they can attribute them to me and pin it on me for favoritism and cheating?"

"That's not quite right."

Vice Dean Zhou did suspect that this student named Su Ruan had used connections to get in and was just there to gain experience.

But evidence is essential in everything we do.

Especially since this matter involves the principal's mailbox, failing to provide a clear explanation will damage the school's reputation.

It also involves Lu Yanci, the future leader of the Lu family, and any slander, ambiguity, or attempts to smooth things over will not be accepted by them.

"But we need to provide a convincing explanation for this matter."

This means that even if the girl is indeed supported by the Lu family, as long as their reasons are convincing, the school can ignore it.

It's just a research assistant position, not a very important one.

Lu Yanci understood it, but he didn't accept it.

"I don't believe I engaged in any favoritism or corruption in this matter."

"I also don't think Su Ruan is capable enough to fulfill the responsibilities of a research assistant in our team."

"We will cooperate with whatever investigation the school decides to conduct."

Vice Dean Zhou glanced at Lu Yanci with complicated emotions.

From the moment he entered, Lu Yanci had been adamant about praising the abilities of this female student named Su Ruan, but now he was unsure of her abilities.

Boom!

Professor Wu, who had been silent all along, tapped the table twice.

"I happen to know this Su Ruan you're talking about."
