Warhammer Fantasy: I Have Total War System

Chapter 22 Dimensional Flame Thrower, yes! yes!

The Skaven, the Destruction faction, are a peculiar race in Warhammer Fantasy. As the name suggests, they are a group of rats that can walk upright, talk, and conduct research just like humans.

They are despicable, short-lived, greedy, and bloodthirsty.

Any bad traits you can find in humans can be applied to mice.

However, they also possess intelligence comparable to, or even surpassing, that of humans in some aspects.

"Let me introduce you," Yi Ge said casually as he walked between the two terrified groups. "The tall one is called Unhappy, the short one is called Brainless, and the one wearing glasses is called Four-Eyes."

"These are all small pets I caught at the Xinwu Ruins."

"You keep rat people as pets?!" Li Lin roared shrilly.

Yi Ge rubbed his temples and flicked his fingers.

Blood beads were seen seeping from the hands, feet, and necks of the three mice.

They quickly withdrew their weapons and lay prostrate on the ground in agony, pleading, "Mistress...mistress, have mercy!"

"We...we study, serve, and obey...commands."

"Yes! Yes!"

Seeing that the three ratmen were completely under Yi Ge's control, Li Lin suppressed his fear and slowly put down his sword.

He had never played with hamsters, but he had been severely tortured by a hamster army and suffered from severe hamster PTSD.

"You said you have a way to deal with ogres, so show it to me." He decided to put the ratmen aside for the time being.

Yi Ge nodded and snapped his fingers coolly at the three mice: "Bring over the byproducts of your previous research on the alchemy furnace."

The three mice looked at each other.

The initial aura of fear and timidity transformed into a fanatical obsession.

The clueless one took the lead, swaying as he dragged a large wooden crate from the wall.

The mice laboriously moved aside the several ceramic jars on top, opened the lid, and carefully lifted out a gun barrel and a connected fuel canister.

Li Lin stared intently, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets.

This is a dimensional flamethrower.

As the name suggests, it is a flamethrower that uses dimensional stones as fuel.

Alternative name for the game: "Soldier Card Deleter".

It's an extremely powerful long-range weapon; even those giant stone horned beasts outside wouldn't last long if they were elbowed by this thing.

Apart from its slightly short range, it has almost no flaws.

"Won't this thing explode?" he asked cautiously after thinking for a moment.

"I remember the ratmen's things were very unstable."

Li Lin had never played with the mouse, but he had been tortured by it many times, so he remembered it very well.

This thing is indeed powerful in the game, but in the background setting, all of the mouse's dimensional stone weapon groups are known for being extremely unstable.

There is a risk of self-destruction at any time, or even a chain reaction of self-destruction that blows all of their own people into the air.

"No," Yi Ge said firmly.

How can you be so sure?

Yi Ge turned around, picked up a dark green alchemy furnace from the lab table, and placed it in front of Li Lin.

She activated the mechanism, and a cluster of vibrant dimensional stone flames burned quietly inside, showing no signs of instability.

The three mice stared intently from the side, their faces filled with fascination.

"Shangyang already had a way to safely use these Chaos Magic Stones."

"The ratmen have only stolen a few furs and think they know everything. They have developed the wrong equipment on the wrong foundation, so of course accidents are likely to happen."

She waved her hand, signaling the three mice to carry the flamethrower to Li Lin.

A pungent, rat-man odor wafted towards him, but Li Lin didn't bother to cover his nose and took the flamethrower to examine it closely.

It was indeed completely different from the flamethrowers he had seen in games, which looked like broken soda cans.

This flamethrower is finely crafted, with the copper tube and iron hoops fitting together perfectly. There is a fine sealing pattern around the interface of the liquid tank. The ignition device is designed as a small knob with five temperature levels. Overall, it looks... surprisingly stable.

Taking a deep breath, Li Lin said to Yi Ge, "One isn't enough, do you have any more?"

"No, but we have finished molds. Clear out a room, store the copper and iron cannons you collected earlier, and we can build them right away."

Li Lin made a decisive move, going out to have the artillery battalion members tidy things up. Then, he took out the gun mounts, ammunition boxes, and ignition devices from the Dragon Palace Armory one by one, filling the entire 100-square-meter room.

Three mice had somehow dug a hole and were peeking their heads out of Yi Ge's room.

When they saw the materials filling the room, especially the black gunpowder from China containing magical elements, their eyes immediately changed.

It's like a gourmet who has fasted for seven days entering a Michelin three-star restaurant.

It's like a dissolute young man who has returned to secular life and gone back to a brothel.

Li Lin nodded to Yi Ge, who then released the restraints on the three mice: "Let's do it."

"No...no problem! I...I'll definitely make the mistress...satisfied!"

"Flamethrower! Burn the sky!"

"Yes! Yes!"

Three mice pounced on the pile of materials, chattering and arguing, their voices mingling with the clanging of metal. Then they dragged the disassembled parts and gunpowder deep into Yi Ge's room, and Li Lin immediately heard a series of short, continuous explosions.

"It really won't explode?"

"Probably." Yi Ge shrugged. "Instead of worrying about these useless things, you should go find someone who knows how to use a flamethrower."

Aurora did not have flamethrower troops.

Li Lin went outside and found Su Zhe, asking her to select thirty-two men who knew how to use muskets, intending to organize a flamethrower unit according to the standards of musket operators.

Unexpectedly, Su Zhe immediately brought over twenty-eight people, saying, "Young Master Li, these people were all skilled fighters in the Dragon Staff Court before, and they can be assembled into a complete Dragon Staff Court force."

"What is the Dragon Rod Court?"

Su Zhe looked at Li Lin with some surprise and carefully explained, "It's a unit that can use flamethrowers."

Huh? There really is a flamethrower unit from Aurora?

I feel that my understanding of this world is still too shallow.

About half an hour later, Li Lin reappeared in the box formation with twenty-eight people.

The battle had been going on outside for a while. A large group of saber-toothed tigers, their fur stained black with dried blood, were engaged in fierce combat with spearmen enchanted with flames.

Li Lin quickly glanced at the system's troop section, and instead of being worried, he was delighted.

During his absence, the front line only lost seven or eight men, but the number of enemy kills surged by thirty or forty, leveling up the entire unit.

Now, all six peasant spearmen units, including four units on the flanks and directly in front, have been upgraded to level three, with their offensive and defensive morale each increasing by three points.

The reason they were able to succeed so smoothly was mainly because the beasts' attention was focused on the deserters who had their backs to them, and the number of them that pounced into the box formation was very scattered.

"Young Master!" Xing Ganqi rushed to greet him, his voice hoarse, whether from shouting or from the smoke, it was hard to tell. "The military advisor has given orders! We must adjust the Five Elements Compass to the Kan position to facilitate communication with other units!"

He stared at the female soldier holding the dimensional flamethrower for a few seconds, stunned.

There's no other reason than that these people's appearance was too strange. The copper pipes and iron tools they held in their hands were bulky and thick, the liquid storage tanks on their backs emitted an eerie green light, and they wore masks that looked like black pig snouts. They exuded a heretical aura that was completely different from the regular Aurora troops.

"Young Master, who are these people?"

"Longzhangting," Li Lin said without changing his expression. Seeing Xing Ganqi's lips twitch, he added, "Longzhangting, a uniquely Southern Li regime, you don't need to worry about them. I'll command them. You continue to maintain the front-line formation."

Xing Ganqi then accepted the order and left.

Have Yi Ge adjust the Five Elements Compass.

Li Lin was also just learning that there was such a thing as a public channel.

Anyway, he didn't have any teammates before, and he was a libero, so it doesn't matter if we don't know.

Taking advantage of the lull in the fighting, Li Lin ordered the Yu Yong Guards to redeploy, arranging the four units in front into two V-shapes with openings at the ends to facilitate the entry and exit of the flamethrower units.

He then nodded and allowed Yi Ge to connect to the public channel.

"Get out of my way! Do you know who my father is?! Be careful, or I'll have General Zhao scrape off your useless eyes, you dog slave!"

"Call for help! The 3rd Infantry Brigade is requesting assistance! Is anyone there? Is anyone there?!"

"Let me through! If you don't, I'm going to use my knife!"

Screams, cries, and curses—seven or eight voices simultaneously pierced Li Lin's ears.

Despite his discomfort, Li Lin shouted into the channel: "This is Li Lin, commander of the Liberty Guard. Everyone, get into formation and move away from the narrow passage exit. Our army is about to deploy its gunpowder units. Don't get caught in the crossfire!"

Nobody paid him any attention.

The cursing continued, the cries for help continued, and the screams continued.

Li Lin repeated it several times, and finally a sarcastic voice emerged: "Oh, so some people haven't run away yet? What are you pretending for now? The whole team has collapsed, what kind of trouble can a libero like you cause?"

Li Lin paused for a second, then told Yi Ge to leave the public channel.

This brat is not worth discussing anything with.

"Crossbowmen, be on guard against air attacks."

"Girls, turn on the heat to level one and test the temperature first."
