Wizard's Journey
Chapter 1104 The War of Civilizations
Chapter 1104 The War of Civilizations (Sixteen)
After a long silence, the aftershocks of the devastating space-based star-destroying cannon gradually subsided, and the atmosphere among the hundred or so wizards was terrifyingly oppressive.
A narrow escape from death!
"How incredibly lucky! Thank you, great Archmage of the Tower of Annihilation! Thank you, great Wizard's Will!"
A female demon hunter rookie was sitting on the ground with tears streaming down her face. Heaven knows what would have happened to her if she hadn't happened to fly by Green at that moment on a mission and been caught in Green's spatial cage.
The first-level wizard covered his face with his hands, weeping with joy, and looked at Green with eyes full of the deepest respect and gratitude from the bottom of his heart.
Lu Lianman desperately squeezed the air out of her lungs. Death was almost right next to her. In the face of such an irresistible and magnificent power, a mere third-level great wizard was as insignificant as an ant, and had no meaning in the face of the space-based star-destroying giant cannon.
Having already earned the Medal of Honor, he died on the battlefield; it was truly unimaginable that he would end up with such a tragic fate.
I hope the war ends soon!
the other side.
Huff, huff, huff, huff...
A rapid heartbeat squeezes blood from the heart into every capillary in the body, causing a surge of adrenaline. Standing on the metal floor, Green's palms are covered in a fine layer of cold sweat.
It was just a few breaths away!
luck?
No, it wasn't luck at all.
For these low-level wizards, it was pure luck, but for Grimm, there was no luck at all. It was Grimm's insightful understanding of the face of truth, coupled with seven months of cautious and unremitting persistence, that earned him this sliver of hope.
Having narrowly escaped death, Green ignored the low-level wizards, as well as Xiao Ba and Ye Ye. Under the Mask of Truth, his three-colored eyes immediately looked into the distance, where the second line of defense in Districts 258 and 259 was guarded by himself and the Three Winds Gathering Saint Mark Wizard.
His body stiffened, and the veins bulged on the hand that held the Abyss Magic Staff, revealing the turmoil in his heart.
At this moment, the space fortress of District 258 was grazed and pierced by that magnificent beam of light. The entire space fortress was shattered, turning into countless fragments that flew and fell, and the thick metal shell melted into liquid.
Millions of demon hunters, slave legions, and mechanical puppet legions were exposed to the power of that magnificent light at close range and were almost completely vaporized, with less than one in a hundred surviving.
On the other side, the Three Winds Gathering at the Top Holy Mark Wizard of District 259 was in charge of the space fortress.
Compared to the space fortress under Green's command, this space fortress is in slightly better condition. The space-based star destroyer is farther away, and most of its radiation energy dissipates by the time it reaches the space fortress.
Even so, the entire space fortress still showed signs of melting over a large area, with the wizards, slave monsters, mechanical puppet legions, and space airship legions responsible for guarding it falling and evaporating in large numbers, a truly horrific sight.
Further away, a void fleet, far larger than the previous dozen or so interceptions and defenses, surged forward in a mighty torrent!
After taking a deep breath, Green quickly took out the crystal ball. To his slight relief, the level 5 Holy Mark Wizard with whom he had worked for several months immediately connected, although he was in a terrible and disheveled state.
"Damn it, Tower of Annihilation, are you...are you alright?"
The Three Winds Converging at the Top immediately showed concern for Green. It made sense, since the space fortress Green was in charge of had been completely destroyed. Given the power of the Metal Destroyer civilization's space-based star-destroying cannon, it was hard to imagine who could be safe and sound under the True Spirit of the Wizarding World at this moment.
"It's alright. We had some plans in advance, so we escaped."
Green slowly shook his head, then said in a low voice, "It seems that the second front cannot be held this time. Try your best to hold them off. If it really doesn't work, retreat to the third front and wait for reinforcements. I guess I will also have some new arrangements to make."
"kindness."
After closing the crystal ball, Green looked at the swarm of Saint Mark Wizards flying out from the depths of the base. Among them, besides the sixth-level Saint Mark Archmage under the True Spirit, there were two unfamiliar sixth-level Archmages and more than thirty fourth- and fifth-level Saint Mark Wizards, their power was formidable.
After briefly observing the situation deep within the base, Green looked at Little Eight on his shoulder.
That guy Xiao Ba actually took Ye Ye and ran straight to the deepest part of the base to hide!
The metal floor made a crisp "crackling" sound as people stepped on it. Somewhat chaotically, the teams of wizards who had been urgently assembled for their mission stared at Green and the others in astonishment and confusion, but without stopping, they rushed to the damage caused by the space-based planet destroyer deep within the fortress base.
Deep within the core of the base, the vital combat and logistical facilities are protected by two layers of Saint Tower-level wizard shields.
Given the power of the space-based star destroyer, a base would have to open both of its wizard shields and break one of them to barely defend against its might.
The intervals between each launch of the space-based planet destroyer are the busiest times for these maintenance wizards. They must ensure that the damaged wizard shield facilities are repaired before the next space-based planet destroyer arrives. Otherwise, if there is a delay, the next space-based planet destroyer will destroy the core of the base, and all the combat significance of the four front lines will be lost.
Amidst the open and covert struggles, a fierce war is also raging behind the base, where the Black Terminator is at play.
These black termins, mingling in the chaotic battlefield and exploiting gaps in the defenses during the war, will do everything in their power to kill these repair wizards, disrupt the construction progress, and delay the arrival of the next space-based planet destroyer.
If they can achieve victory through this, the Black Terminator will spare no expense!
Between the first and second wizard shields, the area was in complete disarray. Green even discovered some distant, unknown creatures that had fallen into this radiant world from distorted spacetime rifts.
The clash of energies between the space-based star destroyer and the wizard's shield created a massive shockwave that caused chaotic spacetime distortions. These fleeting, chaotic spatial rifts actually sucked in some weak creatures from distant alien worlds.
These little creatures, mostly at the second or third level of biological level, stared in stunned awe at the vast base built by the wizards' wisdom. Soon after, a large number of wizard legions came to clean up the mess, clearing obstacles for the repair wizards to race against time.
"The Tower of Annihilation!?"
The Fortress Heart Stigmata Wizard paused beside Grimm, puzzled.
"It was a spacetime teleportation spell. The space fortress in District 258 has been completely destroyed, and I barely escaped back."
Green spoke in a low voice, then asked, "I wonder if there are any tasks here that I can assist you with?"
As a Saintly Stigmata Wizard under a True Spirit, Fortress Heart couldn't concern itself with much of the frontline affairs. Upon hearing Grimm's inquiry, he hurriedly replied, "Eliminate all foreign creatures from the base, search for and eliminate the Black Terminator, protect the maintenance wizards, and ensure the Wizard's Shield is repaired within seven days!"
As he spoke, the Fortress Heart Saint Mark Wizard waved his hand, and two Level 3 Cursed Archmages were given to Grin.
