Wizard's Journey

Chapter 1247 Ancient Relics

Chapter 1247 Ancient Relics

Click, click, click, click...

The Coffin of Hope is heavy and clumsy in its workmanship.

It lacks elaborate and intricate craftsmanship, instead employing the most primitive balancing techniques in the material world. It utilizes absolutely precious materials for warfare, takes the harshest environments and most difficult conditions as its bottom line, and emphasizes practicality and stability, rather than the war-themed artworks of a metal-destroying civilization.

In the empty hall stood two queen ant-level mechanical golems.

They were all designed based on human models, but by this time they had obviously exhausted their energy and were no longer able to fight. As time passed, they had turned to stone and stood like statues.

"It really was designed by an ancient wizard."

Green murmured, bending slightly to channel magic power into the hidden magic circle beneath his feet.

With a "hum," the magic circle in the entire hall lit up, and layers of magic runes were densely arranged, forming a huge six-pointed star magic circle with Green standing at the center.

Beep beep beep beep...

Within the magic circle, a chubby, white, radish-shaped sprite gradually materialized, staring at Green with its large eyes, seemingly confirming Green's identity.

"Authentication successful. Welcome to Hope Castle Sky City. Respected new master, I am Yao Yao. How would you like Yao Yao to address you?"

The white radish spread its wings, but it was just a materialized image of light and shadow, flying around Green.

"Young Master Green."

Grimm was already able to see through his tri-colored eyes the true nature of this whimsical tri-colored sprite. It was the heart of this ancient sky city. It did not exist in itself, but was merely a materialized pattern of light and shadow from the omnipresent magic circle.

The magic circle's scan of him had focused primarily on the Scepter of Hope and the bloodline magic of the Light of Hope within his body.

It seems my guess was right. This unique sky city must be the equivalent of the sacrifice made by the ancient wizard in the contract between him and the Lord of the Light of Hope.

"Hehehe, young master Grin, welcome to the new master of Hope Castle. In the years before you, a total of twelve powerful invaders broke into the castle. Eleven of them have left the time capsule and returned to the constant-speed time material world. One was in the Sky City Time Wheel, attempting to control the Sky City, but was bound by the sealing spell set up by the ancient wizard inside and was trapped and died in the Time Wheel."

The white radish was laughing very happily, as if it were talking about something trivial.

After Green put the Scepter of Hope into the dimensional rift, he was surprised to hear that three groups of coffin ascenders had opened the Coffin of Hope, and that one person was trapped and died in the core time wheel of Sky City.

"Take me to the Wheel of Time."

"Yes, Master Green, please follow me."

As Yao Yao spoke, she gently touched a thick metal wall. As the magic runes on the wall spread out, like ripples, the entire wall transformed into a haphazard metal structure, intersecting like a Rubik's Cube. Then, another, more spacious hall appeared before Green's eyes.

"Dream Gold".

Green murmured softly.

"Young Master Grin, this is the puppet army reserve room designed by the ancient wizards. However, due to the ancient war, all the war puppets in the reserve room have been used up. Passing through this war preparation hall, you will reach the Sky City teleportation hub."

Yao Yao led the way. The empty hall stretched as far as the eye could see. The ground was covered with a metal that resembled white ceramic, which greatly surprised Green, a high-ranking wizard with considerable knowledge of alchemy.

Although modern wizards have far surpassed ancient wizards in the development of some areas of wizarding knowledge, which is a testament to the progress of the times, in the field of alchemy, it seems that ancient wizards were much stronger than modern wizards.

Could it be that after the ancient war, much of the alchemical knowledge of the Sky City's mechanical wizards was lost?

That's right. After the ancient war, the ancient wizards, barely clinging to life, united all the remaining Sky Cities into one, appearing as the Eternal Sky City civilization, sealing away many dying True Spirit Wizards whose omnipotent souls were about to completely dissipate.

Since then, no new Sky City has appeared in the Wizarding World, and it is clear that some of the knowledge about Sky Cities was completely lost after the War of the Ancients.

After walking for a while, the two came to a thick metal wall again.

"Young Master Grin, please provide the necessary energy here. The magic array here is too ancient and cannot function without energy."

Following the same method, Grimm channeled his own magic into the wall, and a large number of magical runes were illuminated by Grimm's immense magic.

Yao Yao opened the dreamlike golden wall again, revealing a similarly spacious hall, but with only a huge door frame a hundred meters high inside.

"Oh? So this is the ancient wizard's teleportation portal?"

After flying over, Green gazed at the scene with his tricolored eyes, observing it in amazement for a short while before shaking his head with a sigh: "It's just the most primitive application of spacetime folding. The energy consumption is more than ten times that of modern wizards relying on the rules of the Fate Lever, and it has a huge distance limitation."

"Young Master Green, through here we can easily reach any location in this Sky City. In addition, there are District 1, District 92, and District 93. Sky City was extensively damaged by the invaders because the magic array energy was destroyed and the autonomous emergency guards were exhausted. They stole the remains left by the Lord of Hope."

Uh……

It's a bit of a shame that the legacy of the Lord of Hope seems to be more than just the bloodline he himself cultivated.

After channeling his magic, Grimm stepped into the portal. With a violent spatial compression and stretching, he was suddenly seen emerging from a thick wall.

"Hmm? This remains of a life form must be the creator of the Matrix, right? The depletion of energy in the magic array inside Sky City is directly related to it. However, it ultimately died within the ancient wizard's sealing array. It underestimated the wisdom of the ancient wizards."

A large, withered green caterpillar with wrinkled skin and two metallic antennae on its head has been trapped and dead here for who knows how many years.

However, the magic circle designed by the ancient wizards for the invaders still performs its most basic, crude, ugly, but absolutely practical function of sealing off the city, thanks to the energy that the Sky City continuously absorbs in the dimensional esophagus.

This giant green worm must have been a soft-bodied creature in its previous life. As an absolute level six peak existence and the designer of the Matrix and Matrix Hub, its wisdom and power may be enough to match or even surpass Grin at this moment!

Even though they were already dead, they still floated in mid-air, seemingly weightless.

Beneath its corpse, the several-meter-thick Dream Gold floor was corroded by the array within the sealing array, creating a hole through which the mechanical operating space inside this Sky City could be vaguely seen.

A light arm, at least hundreds of thousands of meters long, rotates at a frequency of one revolution per minute, a frequency that is exactly similar to the time scale of the eternal mechanical clock in the wizarding world.

"Its purpose in coming here is simply to try and seize control of this sky city through the energy core?"

Green looked at Yao Yao and asked in a strange tone.

Yao Yao thought for a moment.

"This is the pinnacle of ancient wizards' art of calculating the flow of time. The entire Hope Castle, the Sky City, is covered in dreamlike gold, used to compensate for the wear and tear between reality and illusion. It has a wondrous connection with the eternal mechanical clock, perhaps..."

The entire Sky City shuttles between reality and illusion!

Green was incredulous, speechless, and almost cried out in surprise.

Green had long believed that modern wizards' accumulated knowledge must have completely surpassed that of the ancient wizards, yet they were able to achieve such a level!

Compared to that, what is that statue of the Plane Watcher's remains? It's utterly insignificant!

That's right, great beings like Antonio have explored dimensional gaps!

Therefore, although modern wizards have surpassed ancient wizards in the overall direction of knowledge dissemination and development, the ancient wizards were by no means as inferior to modern wizards as Green once thought.

Because much of the ancient wizarding knowledge was completely lost after the defeat in the ancient war...

Through the hidden ruins of the Black Tower, through this sky city, Grimm could vaguely sense that the ancient wizarding world, which was still worshipped by the ancient wizards of the wizarding world, must have had its own glorious years. It was a dark and prosperous period that emphasized practicality and the accumulation of resources to create miracles.

"It tried to find the summoning coordinates of the Wizarding World's Eternal Clock from here, but unfortunately, the scepter is not inside the Wizarding World's Eternal Clock, so it failed."

Is this guy planning to use the time capsule to return to his own civilization and then invade the ancient wizarding world?!

Geniuses often die because of their own madness.
