Wizard's Journey

Chapter 1497 Entering the Nightmare

Let's go back to when the Nightmare Bone Demon Gate was frozen by the rules of winter.

The darkness was boundless, filled with bizarre, hoarse noises, and a dark red mist that filled the world with an ominous atmosphere.

High in the sky, one pale green vortex after another, each vortex representing a world shrouded in nightmares, providing the nightmare bone demon monsters with terrified souls. Ignorant creatures are constantly having their life force drained within the nightmares.

"This wizarding world is far superior to the plant and spirit world we plundered last time. I sensed a considerable amount of powerful energy in this world. If the Nightmare Gate can be opened, those old guys slumbering deep underground will surely awaken. Damn it!"

At the summit of the Nightmare Bone Demon monsters gathered throughout the entire Southern Wasteland, the Sun Scorpion Mother roared unwillingly, her enormous figure engulfed in flames and heat waves. Above her head, the previously opened World Gate was projected and completely frozen by the rules of winter.

As one of the most active Nightmare Kings in the southern wasteland of the Nightmare Bone Demon world, the Sun Scorpion Mother is renowned and also quite outstanding in the northern Bone Desert and Wilderness Hills, having presided over several world raids.

"The Nightmare Kings of the Northern Bone Desert and Wild Hills are gathering to inquire about this invasion. Can we break the seal on the Wizarding World?"

The honeycomb-shaped eye mask, the Mummy Overlord's eye mask, was densely packed with countless eyes blinking. As it spoke, large plumes of purple poisonous breath emerged from its mouth, and some low-level, unconscious bone demons and vengeful spirits that were passing by died instantly.

Silently, another Nightmare King appeared beside the Sun Scorpion Mother. His tattered cloak rustled and fluttered without wind, black smoke billowing from beneath it, yet it seemed empty, devoid of any substance.

"Sun Scorpion Mother, you entrusted me to awaken the Evil Shadow Ancient Emperor. If, after awakening, it finds no world worth invading, hmph, as the oldest Nightmare King of the Southern Wasteland, one of the four ancient nightmares of the Nightmare Bone Demon World, you'd better be prepared to bear the wrath of disturbing its slumber!"

The Sun Scorpion Queen, with her narrow and slender form, looked at the Nightmare King, her already extreme anger now flaring up even more.

"Hiss hiss hiss, my subordinates just reported that a large number of wizards wielding fire powers have invaded the Nightmare Bone Demon world and collected a lot of Nightmare Crystals. Could this be related to this?"

With a bull's head and a snake's body, covered in pink spots, this colossal creature, over 100,000 meters long, crawled out from the depths of the nightmare world. At this moment, its bull's head was sticking out its long tongue, and two completely different power rules, one of ice and one of fire, swirled around its horns.

"That heart, which contains both the rules of nightmares and the rules of wizards, was stolen by that mysterious wizard. As long as the Nightmare Bone Kings in that distant time and space find a way to retrieve the heart, we still have a chance to break the seal again, and this heart will bring about a change in the Nightmare Bone Demon world—a rain of nightmare blood!"

The Sun Scorpion Mother spoke in a low voice.

"You should explain these things to the Nightmare Kings of the Northern Bone Desert and the Wild-Eating Hills first, and then explain them to the Ancient Emperor who is slowly awakening from his deep slumber. After all, you awakened two of the four Ancient Emperors at once! Hmm... those guys from the Northern Bone Desert are here!"

The mummy with the honeycomb eye mask spoke of the distant horizon.

Nightmare Bone Kings, accompanied by several powerful auras, swept across the land. The leader was a giant tortoise, from which a goat's head emerged, wearing a golden crown. The top of the bone staff in its hand was a burning dark red flame, and the all-knowing eye blinked incessantly within the dark red flame.

This Nightmare King, Green also fought against its projected seed in the intermediary virtual space.

"Scorpion Mother, we in the Northern Bone Desert have contributed our full resources to this invasion of the Wizarding World. Now, not only have we failed to invade and plunder, but we have also lost a large number of followers. We even lost our Nightmare Essence and implanted projection seeds following your so-called plan. These losses... Scorpion Mother, how do you intend to compensate us?"

"Hmph, compensation?"

The Sun Scorpion Mother sneered.

"You have already used up all your resources to open the spacetime overlap projection ritual. Do you intend to seize resources from the Nightmare Kings of the Southern Wasteland? The Wasteland Bone Desert has not seen war for tens of thousands of years. If you feel that the speed at which you plunder resources is not enough to sustain the Nightmare Bone Demon World, I would not mind losing a few in a war."

Before the All-Knowing Eye could speak, another Nightmare King, resembling a black centipede, flew over from behind, its hundreds of skeletal legs crawling towards it. Its head, however, was that of a soft-bodied worm. Because of its ugly old hag face, the skin and bones were extremely disproportionate, as if it might fall off at any moment.

"Then let's stop talking nonsense! In recent years, your Southern Wasteland's appetite has grown increasingly large; it's time to reduce some of your resource consumption!"

These Nightmare Kings of the Northern Bone Desert are also short-tempered. The war between the Nightmare Kings of the North and South has been going on since ancient times. There is no reason or cause. As long as the resources plundered from the Nightmare World are not enough to sustain them, war will inevitably break out.

The old witch grinned with a hideous, grotesque smile, her tongue sticking out like a spring, and she actually attacked the Sun Scorpion Mother.

"How dare you! No one has dared to treat me with such contempt since the last war. You will wail eternally under the poison of flames!"

Nightmare Kings, leading their Bone Demon Legion which was supposed to invade the Wizarding World, are waging a North-South war around these Nightmare Kings. It looks like this war will last for quite a long time, with each North-South war lasting for decades or even centuries.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom...

Amidst the chaotic energy ripples, when the numerous Nightmare Bone Kings of the Wild Hills arrived, they were truly unable to speak again; their only response was to join the battle.

"Never mind, looks like I'll have to wait until next time."

After gazing at the numerous Nightmare Kings engaged in a furious battle between the North and South for a moment, Shi Yeqiu sensed a terrifying will slowly awakening deep within the earth. He then looked at the completely frozen portal to time and space, sighed, and decided not to participate in the battle any longer.

As the many Nightmare Bone Kings of the Wild Hills dispersed and prepared to enter slumber once more, suddenly, a fiery red light shone from the Frozen Time Gate.

Click! Click! Click! Click...

Cracks appeared one after another, the crisp sound so clear that the Nightmare Kings, who were in complete chaos all around, noticed this sudden change, stopped what they were doing, and stared in astonishment.

Boom!

A terrifying explosion shook the heavens and earth. A giant fireball broke through the endless ice, shattered the barrier of space and time, and drew a magnificent trajectory in the sky above the Nightmare Bone Demon World before falling into its deepest depths, leaving the many Nightmare Kings dumbfounded.

Before the many Nightmare Kings could react, joyful laughter echoed from the portal.

"Haha, Brother Tian, quick, quick, go steal the damage ring! We did it!"

The metallic lifeform rushed into the Nightmare Bone Demon world, and the perpetual motion machine on Megatron's shoulder and on Emperor's head disappeared.

"You cannot escape my grasp. The perpetual motion machine is mine, the Ring of Consumption is mine, and even your corpses are my treasures!"

Within the portal, the Black Witch King's gigantic face suddenly plunged into the Nightmare Bone Demon world, his pale hand expanding the portal before bursting in.
