Wizard's Journey
Chapter 171 The Demon Hunter's Pact
Chapter 171 The Demon Hunter's Pact
As Green flew through the sky, he paused slightly, looking at a new neighbor on the other side of his Demon Hunter Castle, and floated in the air with a surprised expression.
Ok?
It was her!
On the lush green lawn, silver-white hair fluttered in the wind, revealing a glimmer of light on her forehead. Her ice-crystal-white robe was spotless, and her flawless eyes looked up at Green with surprise.
This witch hunter was none other than Millie, who had the title "Ice Age" during her witch apprenticeship.
The neighbors on both sides of Grimm's Demon Hunter Castle are, on one side, the famous demon hunter wizard Angiliel, and on the other side, which has always been vacant without any demon hunter wizards moving in. Now, unexpectedly, Millie has become her neighbor.
After thinking it over, Green abandoned his plan to return to the Demon Hunter Castle and flew towards Millie.
"Millie, congratulations on becoming a full-fledged wizard." Floating in front of Millie, Grimm gazed at her through his golden hair and said this.
The two were more than ten meters apart when a gentle breeze swept by.
Millie's eyes flickered as she gazed into Green's increasingly deep, indifferent, and wise eyes beneath the gray windbreaker mask. She recalled the battle between wizard apprentices in the Holy Tower Qualification Battle decades ago, as if it were still vivid in her mind.
Has the once-renowned witch hunter once again concealed his brilliance?
Millie offered a wizard's salute to Grimm and whispered, "Is that Lord Grim's Witcher Castle over there?"
"Yes, it's been over thirty years." Green nodded.
Outwardly, Millie seemed completely unchanged, still looking the same, as if she hadn't chosen to leverage too much of the gap between physical vitality and mental power when she advanced to become a formal wizard. But judging from her aura and demeanor, this wizard must have undergone some internal changes.
"Oh? It's quite an inexplicable coincidence and destiny to be neighbors with Lord Green." Millie gently brushed a strand of hair aside, dispelling some of the white, hazy aura surrounding her face to reveal her full features, seemingly out of a sense of respect.
Green nodded, genuinely marveling at the coincidence of fate.
"What about Mina? Has she not yet become a full-fledged wizard?" Green asked casually.
Green had a vivid memory of the fierce woman he met during his time as a wizard's apprentice.
Shaking her head, Millie said in a soft, cold voice, "My sister became a formal wizard before me, but Father arranged for her to become a guardian of the wizarding world. With her unique talents, she is indeed very suitable for the path Father has chosen for her."
After a pause, Millie added, "A thousand years from now, if Mina is qualified to become a Wizard Guardian, not only will I fall behind her, but perhaps even Lord Grin will..."
hum...
Green chuckled silently and said, "Given her personality, she has already selflessly dedicated herself to the wizarding world as a slave for thousands of years. I'd like to see what she'll be like in the future."
After saying this, Green seemed to suddenly think of something. With a thought, the space on his shoulder distorted, and suddenly a myna bird with bright and beautiful feathers appeared.
"Huh? What's this...?"
The myna bird flapped its wings twice to regain its balance. Having been suddenly summoned to an unfamiliar place by Grimm, it was naturally a little confused and it took a while to gradually adjust to its surroundings. When it realized it was actually in the yard of a neighbor's house at Grimm's Demon Hunter Castle, it couldn't help but shriek angrily, "Damn it, couldn't you have just called out from such a short distance? Myna bird... Ah? Hahaha, hahahaha, Young Master Grimm, it's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding..."
With a snort, Green withdrew his gaze and looked at Millie, asking, "Familiar?"
"Is this the parrot sealed in the handkerchief?" Millie asked, her eyes wide with surprise as she saw the myna.
"Damn it! Your Eighth Master is not that kind of lowly and stupid inferior creature. Your Eighth Master is the noble and great Steel Emblem Myna of the Wizarding World!" The myna, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, bristled its feathers like a fighting rooster and yelled at Millie at the top of its lungs.
Clearly, when the myna bird was in the dimensional rift, it had no idea that the only real clue to its existence in the wizarding world had been preserved by the witch in front of it.
Uh……
Millie stared blankly at the lifelike myna bird on Green's shoulder, utterly astonished. What magical abilities did this wondrous little creature, 'sealed' into a dimensional rift in ancient times, possess?
Rumble...
Suddenly, a deafening sound, like a thunderclap, erupted from the thick clouds overhead. Under the oppressive silence, a blood-red crescent moon slowly descended. This completely stunned Millie, who was seeing the Wizarding World's original space fortress for the first time. She stared in disbelief as the sky-covering shadow slowly engulfed her, obscuring the sun.
The view gradually darkened.
In the sky, all mechanical flying objects came to a stop, countless wizards scattered like locusts, and the crown of the Tree of Life slowly opened like a flower bud...
Green frowned and muttered, "Just as the steward of the Three Capitals Peak said, wars in the wizarding world have become increasingly frequent in the last hundred years. The once long cycle of interdimensional wars now occurs every seven to ten years at the Seventh Ring Holy Tower. I suppose it's similar for other elemental wizarding holy towers in the wizarding world. As for holy towers other than elemental wizarding institutions, there should be fewer, but overall, interdimensional wars in the wizarding world are indeed becoming more and more frequent."
Glancing at Millie, who was still in shock beside him, Green had witnessed the space fortress traversing the space-time rift several times. Although he was still shocked, he was no longer surprised.
cough cough...
Clearing his throat twice, Green brought Millie back to her senses from her shock and said calmly, "This is the process of adjusting the rules of the spacetime rift in the Wizarding World's original space fortress. You'll get used to it. Alright, now let's go to the top floor of the Demon Hunter's Castle and channel over 1000 degrees of magic power into the Demon Hunter's Altar. We'll then receive a contribution reward of one Wizard Spirit."
"Witchcraft!"
Millie seemed somewhat incredulous, repeating, "Witch hunters have such perks and benefits?"
She knew all too well how difficult it was for her father, an arcane wizard, to earn wizard essence.
Nodding, Green manipulated the power of nature and floated up, flying towards the castle. The myna bird on his shoulder looked displeased, its small eyes glaring fiercely at Millie through its droopy eyelids.
Uh……
"Green!" Millie suddenly called out to Green.
Green looked at Millie with a puzzled expression from the air.
"Would you be interested in working together on some otherworldly demon-hunting development missions? Although we're not exactly friends, we might end up supporting each other in the future." Millie looked at Green, her clear, bright eyes filled with earnest anticipation.
To complete some tasks together?
Over the years, Green had gradually come to understand the alien development missions of the Dark Templars. It could be said that, apart from the first large-scale battle invading the alien world, most of the Dark Templars' missions consisted of elite teams of two or three people conducting mobile sabotage and killing, used to wipe out the large number of indigenous guerrilla forces in the alien world.
Therefore, for Dark Templars, war tends to be more about individual and small-scale operations, and whether or not they have close teammates is irrelevant.
Almost every dark wizard has a complete combat system to deal with most combat situations in order to ensure their chances of survival, unlike light wizards who are organized into groups with clear division of labor.
Green actually prefers to operate alone, as this would make it easier for him to plunder all the resources available for the demon-hunting mission.
However, if we take into account the vacuum of elemental magic power during the research on annihilation energy...
Green turned around and said, "My mandatory mission period is coming to an end in less than 170 years, while yours is still 200 years away."
Millie shook her head: "Unlike you and my sister, I don't need to digest a lot of relatively advanced wizarding knowledge after advancing to full wizard because my time as a wizarding apprentice was too short. I stayed at the peak of wizarding apprenticeship for sixty years back in wizarding academy, plus the thirty years I spent in the Seventh Ring Holy Tower. I have more than enough time to prepare for advancing to full wizard. One hundred and seventy years is enough for me to complete the initial digestion and adaptation of full wizarding knowledge."
As Millie finished speaking, a gentle breeze swept by, and the diamond-shaped ice crystal on her forehead flashed with a cold, gleaming light.
After thinking carefully for a while, as an ancient and mournful war horn sounded from the direction of the Tree of Life, Green no longer hesitated and said seriously, "Then, let's make some specific arrangements at that time. In the next few years, I still need to calmly complete some long-term and precise experiments."
Millie smiled and nodded silently.
Seeing Millie nod in agreement, Greene no longer hesitated and flew directly to the top floor of his demon hunter castle.
Half an hourglass time later.
With a thunderous roar, another blood-red, moon-shaped primordial space fortress, over ten thousand meters in diameter, entered the spacetime rift from the Tree of Life, carrying countless demon hunters on their new journeys.
