Wizard's Journey

Chapter 1960 Promotion of Wizard Coins

The war has begun!

No, this cannot be called a war; it is a sweep of sandworms and the liberation of various oasis kingdoms.

When the blood-red full moon shone brightly in the sky, giant mechanical devices floating in the air were scattered all over the world. These wizards, who traveled the desert to clear sandworms and enslave the royal families of various oases, became the masters of the sandstorm world.

"My lord, master, this is all the sand crystals we have left, waaaaah..."

In Green's village in the seabuckthorn forest, a group of soldiers surrounded the farmers, threatening and intimidating them, demanding that they hand over all the sand crystals.

As a well-known wealthy village, the sea buckthorn forest village naturally has a lot of sand crystals. After the significance of water as a natural equivalent weakened, sand crystals became the new natural equivalent, property when people traded goods.

Behind this group of soldiers, besides a group of elegantly dressed nobles, the most eye-catching figure was a witch riding on a steel-toothed, bristly horse. She fed the enormous creature beneath her local fruits while storing the large number of crystals collected by the soldiers into a spatial magic device.

Demon-hunting expeditions often last for decades or even centuries, giving wizards ample time to collect various valuable materials and energy crystals, and to successfully promote the Wizarding Coin system.

He toyed with a top-grade sand crystal collected from the seabuckthorn village on his fingertip. It was a level three sand crystal stone, containing enough energy to power a fifteen-meter-long desert ship for several months, equivalent to a top-grade magic stone in the wizarding world.

"According to the standards of this world, a level 5 sand crystal is called a desert crystal. The energy inside is equivalent to at least a thousand top-grade magic stones. Although the natural resources of this world are backward and there are not many relics to be mined, it is a natural deposit of high-energy crystals. Apart from artificial synthesis, there are only a handful of worlds in the Wizard Alliance that can produce such high-grade crystals."

The witch murmured, and the runes on her ring finger flashed. With a whoosh, a large number of wizard coins engraved with six-pointed star magic circles fell down, piling up like a small mountain in front of her.

"Whose is this level-three sand crystal?"

The witch didn't even glance at the gathered farmers, seemingly speaking to thin air, yet her voice reached the ears of everyone present.

However, people were already terrified by the witch's six- or seven-meter-long, two-meter-tall steel teeth and bristles. Such a huge creature would surely swallow a person whole.

Trembling with fear, even the richly dressed nobles dared not utter a single word.

Under everyone's watchful eyes, Green, who was standing next to Millie, slowly walked out. As the village chief of Seabuckthorn Village, he also pretended to be trembling with fear.

"It is me, but this sand crystal is the common treasure of the village."

The witch glanced at Green, who was dressed as an old farmer, but seeing nothing unusual about him, she ignored him and casually pointed to the pile of wizard coins on the ground, saying, "Under the whole heaven, all land belongs to the wizards; on the shores of the earth, all people are subjects of the wizards. Remember, from this day forward, wizards are the supreme rulers of this world, and the first supreme law promulgated by the wizards is to abolish all natural equivalents. In all transactions, the only currency used can be wizard coins. Anyone who violates this law will have their entire village and street punished."

"Yes, yes, I understand. I will follow the wizard's instructions in everything."

Greene appeared terrified, which pleased the wizard greatly.

"Hmph, Wizard Coins are symbols of the wizard's will. You can use these Wizard Coins to fulfill any wish. Remember, any wish! Of course, fulfilling a wish requires a lot of Wizard Coins, so go, and work hard to earn more Wizard Coins!"

Moments later, the wizard led his large group to the next village, leaving behind the legend of wizard coins.

The villages and towns chosen by the wizards were not randomly selected, but rather those that were relatively wealthy, such as the Seabuckthorn Forest Village.

After the large group of people had left, Green, as the village chief, was about to distribute the glittering wizard coins to everyone. Although everyone didn't know the specific uses of these wizard coins, having lost so many sand crystals, they had no way to make a living in the future, so they could only use these wizard coins as a temporary consolation.

Just then, a soldier sneaked over, followed by the merchants who had arrived in Wenfeng.

"Hey, I'll trade these crabapple powders and salt for the wizard coins you have."

Apart from a few more cautious villagers, most villagers, unaware of the value of wizard coins, quickly had their wizard coins swindled away by soldiers and merchants from all sides.

……

It's probably because the oasis country where Green and Millie live is so remote, located in a very remote corner of this world, that apart from a few scattered wizards passing by, there are no other strange occurrences.

And so, time passed, and five years went by.

Finally, even near the oasis where Green and Millie lived, large numbers of wizards began to appear and exterminate the sandworms of the Sandstorm World!

Rumble rumble rumble...

Soldiers, farmers, and workers looked up at the sky, their mouths agape, speechless with shock and utter astonishment.

A void mothership over two thousand meters long, plus dozens of space airships nearly a hundred meters long, and countless small delta-wing fighters crisscrossed, swooshing, swooshing, swooshing, swooshing, with the void mothership as the center, the delta-wing fighters piloted by mechanical wizards flew around.

"What, what is that? A desert ship flying in the sky? It's so big!"

The soldier was somewhat knowledgeable, and he used his imagination to imagine the 2,000-meter-long sci-fi warship. Even though they were thousands of meters away in the air, the unparalleled oppressive force was already felt. The sound waves in the air caused sand and gravel to roll down from the dunes, and sand and dust swirled everywhere.

The elderly farmer swayed unsteadily, struggled a few times, and then sat down on the ground with a thud.

"What a terrible thing! They're angering the sleeping Sandworm King! They'll be punished, and we'll be implicated and perish together in the sea of sand! Waaaaah..."

The fear of sandworms is deeply ingrained in people around the world.

Since time immemorial, sandworms have been at the top of the food chain in the sandstorm world, and the source of fear in the sandstorm world. Even in the powerful oasis kingdom, after losing the protection of the oasis water source, they are extremely vulnerable in the face of sandworm swarms. Although almost no one has ever seen a sandworm king in person, it has been passed down as a terrifying legend.

The panicked people pleaded, having grown accustomed to the natural rules of this world and filled with fear of the new ones—the natural rules that would be ruled by wizards instead of sandworms!

In contrast to the panicked commoners, the royal nobles, due to their contractual relationship with the wizards, were well-prepared for this day. Under the protection of soldiers, they ascended the watchtowers and watched the wizard legions gradually spread across the desert sky, their hearts filled with turbulent emotions.
