Wizard's Journey

Chapter 1965 Searching for the Transmigrated NPC

Chapter 1963 Searching for the Transmigrated NPC

When Green, an elderly man in his twilight years, appeared on the fleet of ships leaning on a cane, the captain could hardly believe his eyes!

"Hey, who sold them those tickets? My ship will never take in an old guy who dies halfway through the journey; it brings bad luck! Damn Thomas, how dare you disobey my orders! I'll drown you in the toilet!"

The burly man, standing 1.9 meters tall, roared as he walked against the flow of travelers in the corridor. People made way for this imposing figure, and even the baby in the woman's arms started to cry. Green leaned shakily against the deck railing, his dark eyes gazing into the distance at the vast, green grassland.

However, Thomas, the thin man who was appointed as the accountant by the captain, was directing two handymen to carry a stretcher with a pale-faced old woman on it. She looked like she might die at any moment and seemed to be the old man's wife. This scene stunned the captain!

"you!"

However, before the captain could speak, Thomas quickly pulled him aside.

Thomas's trembling right hand fumbled around for a moment before taking out a handkerchief. He unwrapped several layers of packaging, revealing a level-three sand crystal. The burly man was immediately startled, covering Thomas's hand and calming himself down.

"It's a request from Duke Walnut Blossom to deliver these two noble guests to the designated Oasis Kingdom. We can't refuse! Besides, the cost of this sand crystal is enough for us to make several trips. Taking this on will be a windfall for us!"

The captain, now calm, looked at the two sailors carrying the old woman on a stretcher, then at the several travelers peering in. When he looked again at Green, who was leaning on a black cane, the man was also looking at him. Suddenly, he felt that this unassuming old farmer had an indescribable noble air, and he felt like an ant standing at the feet of a giant.

"Send it to room one immediately, Thomas. You're in charge of this!"

As he spoke, the captain walked up to Green. The massive man bent down slightly and said in a low voice to Green, "If you need anything, contact Thomas. There might be some fighting on the way, but I've taken care of both sides, so there shouldn't be any problems. If anything happens, your room is the safest."

After saying that, the captain left as if nothing had happened, while Thomas instructed the two men to carry the stretcher and continue forward.

……

Five days later.

The new oasis lands between the major oasis kingdoms have a subtropical monsoon climate. During the rainy summer season, they are often covered with low-lying green grass. The root systems of these plants are very developed, and they still retain the characteristics of the vegetation from the sandstorm world. And now it is the lush summer season.

Along the way, the wreckage of damaged desert ships and corpses kept appearing on the horizon, and the shouts of war could even be heard in the distance.

As the Oasis Kingdom expands its borders, its ambitions and desires grow, and conflicts between different royal families intensify, war has already begun, though it has not yet fully erupted, but sporadic conflicts have never ceased.

"Cough cough cough cough, I'm afraid I won't make it that far, my HP is running low."

Millie spoke weakly by the bedside, not forgetting to crack a joke.

"We didn't even finish the game in the second life; we rushed into this world after only exploring. This time, it's almost over, so we absolutely have to go together. Your body's functions are fine in natural environments; if you can avoid sandstorms when you cough, you should be able to last another year or two. And even with the small amount of sandstorms now, you should be able to last two or three months. Once we meet that transmigrator NPC, we'll consider this game over. How about it?"

Green responded to Millie in a joking manner as well.

Knowing that nothing could be hidden from Green, Millie smiled and said nothing more, trying to reduce her coughing.

……

A month later.

The Kingdom of Krosas is the most prosperous and powerful of the dozen or so oasis kingdoms that are connected in the vicinity. It is no exaggeration to say that even if the second most powerful oasis kingdom and the third most powerful oasis kingdom joined forces, they would not be as powerful as the Kingdom of Krosas.

Green hired two laborers to continue carrying Millie on the stretcher. As if the locals knew the way ahead, they traversed the main streets and alleys of the city and then led the two laborers to a clinic. Business seemed slow; it was a bit stuffy and there weren't many people. A tall, thin doctor with a black mole on his cheek was so bored that he was drowsy.

"Hehe, he's still here after all. If this guy hadn't passed by the Seabuckthorn Village with the wizard back then, I wouldn't have been able to detect his abnormality without breaking the seal. Now that we've seen him, let's consider the third level of the game over and prepare for the fourth level. I wonder how many more levels and worlds we can leisurely enjoy together like this, and how many True Spirit Masters trapped in the endless world are like us, bored out of our minds day and night, finding their own amusement."

Green spoke casually to Millie in secret.

"Oh? So this is the guy. What's his purpose in hiding in this world? Is it for the sake of the wizards?"

Millie, on the stretcher, coughed as if she were terminally ill and could die at any moment. She glanced at the doctor at the clinic. Apart from her rather unusual facial features, there was really no sign of her being disguised. It seemed that she had been hiding in this world for a long time and had been suddenly chosen to do so.

Green smiled secretly, but on the surface, he appeared extremely anxious upon entering the room, almost to the point of tears, and said in a muffled voice, "Doctor, please take a look at my old woman, she, she, she's about to die, sob sob..."

Green's voice trembled, as if he were dying and about to part, and he was so heartbroken that Millie coughed incessantly along with him.

The doctor at the clinic was a tall man, about 1.8 meters, with an unusually shaped face and two small tufts of mustache. After observing Millie's condition for a moment, he stroked his mustache thoughtfully and calmly said, "Birth, aging, sickness, and death are the laws of nature, and no one can avoid them. Although I am somewhat famous here, I am not one of those wizards who possess the ability to prolong the lives of royalty, so I am powerless to help. Here's what I'll do: I'll prescribe some herbal medicine to temporarily alleviate her pain and allow her to pass away peacefully."

As he spoke, the old man walked to the counter to write out the prescription.

"Waaah, but I've heard that some wild and divine medicines have the power to heal my old woman. Unfortunately, the journey is too far, and I don't know how to get to the Wild World. If only you could help me get there, otherwise, if my old woman dies, there's no point in me living."

Green's casual remark sent a chill down the old man's spine!
