Wizard's Journey
Chapter 257 Hasty Return
Chapter 257 Hasty Return
Five years later.
"Ah! This feeling..."
Grimm, who was cultivating the 'Alienation Field' of the evolution fly, suddenly cried out in surprise, and with a "rip," his clothes turned into powder.
Centered on Green, the surrounding space seemed to collapse into it, with ripples of ominous black and gray energy spreading out and swirling around it.
At the same time, countless strange red hairs suddenly sprouted and surrounded it.
These red hairs seemed to come alive, desperately trying to burrow into Green's body, but were blocked by a transparent wizard's shield. From a distance, Green looked like a moldy egg.
This is……
Over the past five years, Green has used a method of breeding and weeding to select several thousand elite flies from hundreds of thousands of green evolution flies. Because they were connected to Green's aura, some of them, after being burrowed into by the red hair, emitted hoarse cries and disappeared in Green's eyes, as if they had been pulled into another unknown world.
These red hairs, like claws from the depths of hell, mercilessly drag any cursed creature into the nightmare of death.
"Huh? Damn it, even I, Eighth Master, am cursed by the evil shadow under the bed!"
The myna bird cried out, its body transforming into the shape of a child's drawing, thus escaping the pull of that unknown world. Yet, it was still surrounded by a layer of ominous red fur, as if it wanted to burrow into its body.
"drink!"
With a loud shout, Green mobilized the power of nature to counteract the pull of that unknown space. Streams of elemental light and shadow converged, mending the space that seemed on the verge of collapse.
"Didn't they say that as long as you don't get close to the end of the world and don't sleep in bed, you won't fall into the nightmare world for a while?"
While struggling to counteract the spatial collapse and the dense, ominous red hairs trying to burrow into his body, Green quickly collected the remaining evolutionary flies on the test table that had not yet burrowed into the red hairs.
The eyelids beneath the face of truth kept twitching.
The dense, bizarre bruises covering Green's skin now seemed to come alive, displaying a ferocious appearance as they moved incessantly across his body. Some even began to change shape, making it extremely terrifying.
These marks and bruises, each one seemed to represent a kind of life that Green could not yet comprehend.
Some of the bruises reacted slowly, only changing shape and size, or slowly rotating and beating like a heart. Others were extremely flexible, like little geckos swimming all over Green's body. One particularly conspicuous baby red handprint was even half detached from Green's body, stretching out in mid-air like a piece of paper.
A chilling, numb sensation spread throughout his body, and his breathing trembled slightly. Green tried hard not to look at these terrifying things.
These things are definitely not evil spirits; they are unique, unknown creatures from some extremely rare and strange worlds in the endless universe.
Perhaps the judgment of the Tomb of the Stigma Wizard was correct. The Nightmare World Projection did not yet have the power to pull Green into that unknown world. After Green struggled desperately for a while, gradually, the ominous red hair around him began to decrease, and the force of the spatial collapse also began to decrease.
"ah!"
The myna bird suddenly let out a shriek and quickly fled into the dimensional gap. As the force of the spatial collapse decreased, Green, who was panting, raised his head and saw a three-meter-long red crack slowly opening up in his eyes.
"what……"
A cold sweat broke out all over his body, and his face turned deathly pale. Green couldn't move even a finger and could only stare in terror at the sky above him.
Within the red crack, two rows of enormous, white teeth, resembling human teeth, stood neatly aligned. As if sensing Green's fear, the red crack widened into an evil arc, and a scarlet tongue emerged.
From bottom to top, a scarlet tongue licked Green all over, as if savoring some delicacy. Drip, drip, the foul-smelling red liquid drenched Green's entire body, except for his face, which, due to the Face of Truth, remained untouched.
"Little wizard, you can't escape..."
The somber, hoarse voice gradually faded away, and the space around Green returned to normal.
Green stood motionless, as if a child had been completely terrified. After a while, realizing his state, Green gritted his teeth and, with his strong willpower, gradually controlled his emotions. He shouted, "Eighth Brother!"
"They're here."
A flash of space appeared on Green's shoulder, and a beautiful, chubby myna bird in the shape of a child's drawing appeared. It looked around for a while before asking, "Are we still in the Fire Crystal World?"
Gritting his teeth, seemingly ashamed of the extreme fear he had just experienced, Green's eyes were filled with sinister and vicious intent.
"What do you think?" Green scoffed.
The wizard's robes on his body were shattered by the spatial fluctuations the moment the Nightmare Shadow struck. The naked Grimm ignored the hideous bruises on his body that had darkened considerably, took out an experimental bottle, and carefully collected the foul-smelling red liquid that was still dripping from his body.
"Hehe, young master, it seems you've been targeted by a big guy in the nightmare world who wants to eat you up."
Seeing that things had calmed down again, the myna bird rolled its eyes and teased Green with a half-smile.
Green's face grew even uglier. Ignoring the stench, he meticulously collected the remaining red 'saliva' from his body, his voice hoarse and frantic as he said, "If one day I'm strong enough to truly reach the Nightmare World, even if it costs me a fortune to find its end, I will turn it into a specimen on my experimental table!"
The myna bird was stunned. After a while, it stuck out its tongue and muttered to itself, "They were the ones who had their eyes on you, but now you're the one who's got their eye on you."
After his frenzy, Green didn't lose his mind. He jumped into the underground lake for a quick bath, changed into another wizard's robe, packed up all the experimental samples in the laboratory, and hurriedly said, "Let's go to the fortress! Judging by the time, the world rift teleportation array between the fortress and the wizarding world should be ready soon."
The man and the bird hurriedly left the laboratory under the camphor tree and the lake.
…………
A month later.
In the sky, six witch hunters were relentlessly pursuing a mysterious Amonro, a creature hostile to witches and attempting to revive the Amonro race. The witch hunters had no room for compromise with this creature.
However, the fact that this Enigma Amonro has managed to resist the Prophet King of Enigma to this day, despite the combined efforts of the Witcher Wizards and Lava Giants after the Cataclysm and the lack of supplies from the lower-level Amonro, is undeniable; it must be said that it does possess some strength.
At least, before losing the support of the Enigma Energy Rules, this Amonro was definitely a high-ranking Enigma noble of the second-level beings.
Now that this world has been transformed into the Fire Crystal World, even the King of the Enigma Prophet can only barely master the abilities of a Level 4 being within the Enigma Dead Zone.
But now the Lost Realm of Mystery has been completely taken over by the Demon Hunter Wizards!
This enigmatic prophet king, now in exile, has lost the support of the world's fundamental will and is no longer the world's guardian; he is merely a third-level being clinging to life.
Seeing the wounded enigma Amonro fleeing further and further away, the faces of the witch hunters turned grim.
This target has already failed in two demon-hunting missions. Is this going to be the third time?
Each failed demon-hunting mission increases the bounty to attract stronger demon-hunting wizards to take on the mission, while previously failed demon-hunting wizards are also registered.
Such humiliation is hard for any witch hunter to accept, so they will all do their best to complete the witch hunting mission.
At least for now, they haven't lost track of the cunning enigma Amonro, and they still have a chance! Perhaps it's time to use some of their trump cards. The demon hunters exchanged glances, their eyes filled with determination.
Just then, a demon hunter skilled in perception and detection suddenly exclaimed, "Great! There were other demon hunters passing by ahead who helped us hold off that cunning fellow!"
"Huh? Really! We're lucky. Hurry, let's get there quickly. This guy isn't someone an ordinary demon hunter can handle. We can't let that guy lose his life here."
The other witch hunters burst into laughter and charged forward with all their might.
A little while later.
The six demon hunters stared in shock at the mysterious wizard in front of them, who wore a gray-white spiral-patterned mask and had a myna bird perched on his shoulder.
The mission objective is dead?
He was indeed only a level one wizard, yet he killed the mission target in such a short time!
Beneath Green's feet, the twisted and scattered remains of Amonro's mutated limbs were everywhere, exactly the same as the horrific appearance of the experimental subject whose life code had collapsed on the experimental table. This was precisely the powerful ability of Green's mutated force field.
Using his spatial distortion ability, Green skillfully stayed close to the Amonro without directly confronting it. Instead, he unleashed his mutated force field, and within minutes, the creature was torn to pieces, its life code completely collapsing.
Looking at the six demon hunters before him, Grimm asked in a low, hoarse voice, "Is the world rift teleportation array on the fortress completed?"
A body-refining wizard riding an abyssal dragon recovered from his slight shock and cautiously glanced at Grimm, saying, "Although the construction is complete, the Demon Hunting Expedition is not over yet, so we cannot return to the wizarding world."
"understood."
Green remained noncommittal, adopting the demeanor of a mysterious wizard who disliked speaking, and after giving a simple wizard's salute to the six witch hunters, he turned and left.
After Green had flown far away, the three witch hunters exchanged glances and, without prior arrangement, flew towards the mutated and burned remains of the enigmatic Amonro.
Clearly, the three intended to deduce Green's witchcraft methods from the remaining information here.
The remaining three seemed uninterested. One of them sighed, "You can tell at a glance that this guy is a seasoned hunter. That aura he had just displayed... I think he just hasn't earned the Demon Hunter Medal yet, he's just unlucky."
Of the three on the ground, the demon hunter wizard, skilled in perception, exclaimed in shock: "This monster! He actually altered the target's physical information? Is it some kind of mysterious curse magic?"
…………
Another two weeks later.
On the space fortress, Green turned to Millie and said, "That's my situation, so I have to get back to the Wizarding World as soon as possible."
With her silver hair flying in the wind, Millie looked at Green and listened to him talk about the Nightmare Shadow Curse.
While inwardly shocked, Millie calmly nodded: "I never imagined that you would be able to meet the great Stigmata Wizard, obtain a special order, and return to the wizarding world ahead of schedule. I estimate that this demon-hunting expedition will last at least another fifteen to twenty years, which means I will have to wait another twenty years."
Green said bleakly, "This rush makes me feel like I'm fleeing from this unreal world. I always feel that this world is far more complex than it appears on the surface."
"How could we, mere first-level wizards, possibly fathom the depth and breadth of a world?" Millie smiled, unconcerned, and bid farewell.
With a forced smile, Green nodded and, watching Millie go, took the special order from the Tomb of Words Stigmata Wizard and turned to walk towards the world teleportation array of the Fortress Wizard Tower.
Looking at the dense, purplish bruises on his arm, Green sighed.
…………
After a few hourglasses.
After a dizzying, disorienting experience, when Green groggily opened his eyes again inside the cocoon box, he looked through the glass window at the huge magic circle under the bright magic chandelier outside and silently thought, "The wizarding world... is finally back."
A gentle, warm, familiar, and intimate primal will enveloped Green, like a mother embracing her child.
