Wizard's Journey

Chapter 270 The Search

Chapter 270 The Search

Without following their original plan to visit other familiar wizards, Grimm and Yorkriana hurriedly left the Blacksor Tower Wizarding Academy.

Flying through the sky, the thorny forest rushes past beneath our feet.

Grimm's wide black wizard robes rustled in the strong wind, and his eyes, beneath the mask of truth, revealed bewilderment, anxiety, and sadness. Yorkriana, perched on a broom, turned her head to look at Grimm with concern.

"Green, if we actually find Raffi, what are you going to do? She's already on the bounty list, a black witch apprentice."

Yorkriana asked worriedly, as if afraid that Green might do something foolish.

Green bit his lip, closed his eyes, and shook his head, saying, "No, I know Raffi. She wouldn't be that kind of person. There must be some hidden story. I need to see her with my own eyes to confirm it."

Yorkriana sighed.

"No matter what the hidden reasons are, once you've embarked on the path of a dark wizard in the Wizarding Continent, there's no turning back. You can only hide like a rat in the darkest corners every day, constantly at risk of being hunted down by bounty hunters."

Green roared in a low voice, "I know all of this! I just want to ask her why this happened! Even if I'm executed by the Wizarding Continent, I want to see Raffi one last time."

Hey……

Yorkliana said, "Alright, in the past few years, the Bone Clock Tower has mobilized most of its wizards and elite wizard apprentices to hunt down a lot of dark wizard apprentices, but there has been no news of Raffi. Let's go and visit a few places where there has been a lot of news about dark wizard apprentices recently."

"Um."

Green responded and followed Yorkriana.

…………

This is Versailles, a city located at the border of the Black Tower Wizarding Academy and the Ivory Castle Wizarding Academy.

Versailles, with a permanent population of approximately 700,000, is an important transportation hub with a constant flow of merchants and knights. It is famous for its special products, such as elephant hair, elephant skin, cotton, and pottery.

Inside and outside the city, hundreds of towering castles of all sizes stand tall, bustling commercial streets present a thriving picture, and there are also dilapidated slums crisscrossed with old houses, crowded with the weak and vulnerable who live hand to mouth.

The slums are a melting pot of all sorts of people, a veritable breeding ground for crime, where stabbings happen every now and then, and the security team never bothers to investigate.

Usol is an orphan born and raised in the slums of Versailles.

Like most orphans, Usol had no idea about his origins. With his clever mind and strong body, Usol survived in this cruel environment, living a life of survival of the fittest, and gradually became a gang leader on several streets in the slums.

Nineteen-year-old Usol was 1.75 meters tall, with messy brown hair, greasy face, and eyes that looked like those of a venomous snake. He had a sinister smile on his lips, carried a knife in his hand, and was followed by seven or eight thugs, loitering around his territory.

At a dilapidated mending stall, a few thugs stopped.

"Hmph! Old man, I didn't charge you last month because of your daughter. If you dare to nag again this month, hmph, hmph hmph hmph hmph..."

Usol twirled the blade in his hand, grinning darkly and viciously.

The old man at the sewing stall shakily raised his head, looking like he wouldn't live more than a few days; his hair was pitifully thin.

But Usol didn't care. The old man had been acting like this for years. All the poor people here were tough as nails.

Quickly, a woman in her thirties, still charming, ran over from a distance.

"Usol, my father will never give you another copper coin!"

Usol glanced at the woman and scoffed, "Just a servant of the Baron, don't think that just because you're his mistress..."

Click, click, click.

Slowly, from the alley entrance, a tall and imposing knight in metal armor walked over, his eyes beneath the helmet carrying a stern and uncompromising look.

"These are the subjects of the Baron. The spirit of justice and brilliance that the Baron believes in will spread to every corner where his subjects live."

As the knight approached, the woman pressed herself against him, straightened her back, and glared at Usol.

A fully armed knight is not someone these street thugs can touch.

Usol gritted his teeth. It was that bastard who came to uphold justice again. He didn't know how he managed to hook up with that woman. Humph!

Turning around, Usol winked at one of the thugs behind him. In the blink of an eye, the thug gave a cold laugh and ran away.

Local bullies have all sorts of ways!

click!

The tall knight drew his longsword and said coldly, "I am a squire of the Baron. Even if I execute you on the spot to uphold justice, I will not be punished by the security forces. Want to try, little fellow?"

"Hahaha, this is a misunderstanding. How could we possibly offend the Baron's principles of justice? We just..."

Just a moment later, a knight suddenly rode his horse and galloped towards them from afar.

"Ys, the steward has summoned you back to your post, and the Baron is going to the Viscount's mansion. I heard a wizard has arrived in the city and sealed the gates; something must have happened!"

The horse stopped between the two groups of people, and the knight on it spoke to the armored knight who believed in justice.

"A conspiracy! This is a conspiracy, sir..."

The woman looked pleadingly at the armored knight. After a slight hesitation, the knight saw squads of security personnel running past on the distant street, clearly indicating that something had indeed happened. In the end, he shook his head, not daring to delay any longer.

The armored knight sighed, mounted his horse at a distance, and the two knights departed.

With a "smack," Usol shoved the woman aside, continuing to fight and roar, "You bitch! Today I'll show you who the hell keeps their word on this street! You dare to yell at people? I'll teach you to yell, I'll teach you to be righteous, righteous..."

"Waaah..." The woman covered her head and cried bitterly.

Several thugs surrounded her and began beating the baron's maid, carefully avoiding hitting her face.

"Stop hitting it! Stop hitting it! These are all the copper coins..."

The old man at the sewing stall tried desperately to pull it away, but to no avail.

There were too many poor people watching, so the thugs had to do something to maintain their "status." Although, when they hit the maid, they didn't dare use any force at all.

After a while, Usol, smug and arrogant, left with his money bag and a group of thugs. The poor people shook their heads and gradually dispersed with sighs.

……

As the sun set and the sky began to darken, Usolu, rummaging through a filthy slum alley, chuckled and said, "Damn it, justice almost came to pass. What a despicable woman."

The other thugs all smiled obsequiously.

Only one thug looked around suspiciously and whispered, "Boss, this street isn't safe. I heard a lot of guys have been stabbed in the back and disappeared recently."

"Pah! We're the bosses here, who dares to mess with us!" Usol turned around and slapped the guy across the face, saying smugly.

The thug quickly put on a forced smile.

Huff, huff, huff...

In the distance, the thug who had run away earlier caught up. Usol laughed and said, "Ernihei, well done. That plucked chicken got rid of him so quickly."

The panting thug looked utterly bewildered: "Boss, I didn't see that plucked chicken at all! We can't get into the Baron's mansion today!"

Ok?

The group of thugs were completely stunned.

Just then, a chilling voice came from the abandoned shack next to the thugs: "Heh heh, just what I need to update with a new batch of experimental materials..."

The scent of water permeated the air.
