Wizard's Journey
Chapter 318 Surface Ice Plains
Chapter 318 The Ice Field on the Surface (Part 9)
Green continued searching for the entrance to the World's Nest, not stopping despite his previous encounter with the ice bats.
Six months later.
Inside the Shadow Starfall, a bored myna bird raised its wing and pointed into the distance, saying, "There's a cave entrance over there."
Green turned his head and looked in the direction the myna bird was pointing. After seeing that there was indeed a cave entrance, he nodded and said, "Hmm, let's go and investigate whether this cave is the entrance to the World's Nest."
In the past six months, Green has found ninety-six more entrances to the World Nest.
If we include the previous forty-nine World Nest entrances, then a total of one hundred and forty-five mission targets have been found, which means one hundred and forty-five Witch Essences have been obtained as a reward.
Based on the previous special mission of hunting demons and dark wizards, which involved a total of 300 people, if each person found an average of 100 World Nest entrances, then there would be 30,000 World Nest entrances.
Clearly, the entrance that the witcher was able to find was only a part of this nest world.
From this, one can imagine just how enormous this world's nest truly is...
The reason for the formation of such a colossal creature was that it was instinctively discovered by the weakest creatures at the bottom of the food chain over a long period of time.
The endless world is truly a masterpiece of nature, ever-changing and incredible, forever surpassing the limits of any wizard's imagination and cognition.
With a whoosh, Green piloted the Shadow Meteor down into the cave.
Having startled some of the weaker surface creatures in the nest world, Grimm opened the upper metal shield of the Spy Shadow Meteorite and slowly explored the interior of the cave.
Green and the myna have experienced this thousands of times over the past few months, gaining ample experience.
"Ah, yet another World Nest entrance that has already been marked with Black Chains by other witchers."
The myna bird, perched on Green's shoulder, spoke with regret.
Beneath the mask of truth, Grimm's eyes flickered. After a soft sigh, the Spy Shadow Meteorite metal shield above his head creaked shut again, and the dark, spherical metal aircraft flew away smoothly and quickly.
Two days later, in the same World Nest cave, Green and the myna let out another regretful sigh.
The entrance to this world's nest cave has also been marked with black magic by other demon hunters and dark wizards.
Since then, Green has rarely been able to find new entrances to the World's Nest, and it seems that he has unknowingly begun his journey back.
The Shadow Meteor flew swiftly through the sky. Inside the cabin, Green sighed, "It seems we've been unknowingly distorted by the edge of the world. After all, this is just a small world."
"Giggle, I think so too," the myna bird chimed in.
The so-called edge of the world is merely a stage-specific term used by beings at the formal wizard level to describe the phenomenon of invisible boundaries of the world that they cannot understand, where straight-line flight would cause the trajectory to be distorted within the world itself.
Different social strata have completely different perceptions of the world.
When Green was young and ignorant, working odd jobs with Old Ham on the East Coral Island, like all the common people, Green thought that the sky was boundless, the edge of the earth was the sea, and the sea was also boundless.
This world is boundless and has no end.
As Greene became a wizarding apprentice and his knowledge grew, the world changed in his eyes.
At this point, Green knew that the world had boundaries, but he had no idea what those boundaries were, nor could he imagine them, or even imagine the general extent of a world.
But Green is absolutely certain that there are indeed some incomprehensible boundaries in the world.
It wasn't until Green advanced to become a formal wizard, and with the start of the Demon Hunter Expedition to another world and his understanding of the relative boundaries of space, that Green realized that although the world has boundaries, these boundaries are vague and distorted, boundaries that a living being can never cross if it walks normally.
This boundary will unknowingly distort the internal space of the world, so that a creature that is obviously moving in a straight line will unknowingly have its course distorted inside the world, which is incredibly strange.
This phenomenon of distorted space is known in the understanding of beings at the wizard level as the Edge of the World.
However, at this level of life, the wizard had already learned some ways to leave the edge of the world without following normal means.
Among them, the most widely known to creatures of the endless world is the world rift, which allows direct travel to other worlds.
Secondly, Green himself knew of three other ways to leave the world.
The three aspects are: passing through the chaotic energy layer above the clouds to reach the void, penetrating the relative spatial boundary to reach the void, and using the lever of fate to pry open the spacetime rift.
As for the world lords above that, or the level of the Saint Mark Wizard.
Although we don't know what the world looks like through the eyes of such a great and supreme level of life, there is no doubt that it must be completely different from the wizard's understanding, and it is very likely that there will be another earth-shattering change in understanding.
This is growth at the level of life.
The world seen by people at different levels, and their own goals and actions, will all be different concepts.
A narrow mind leads to arrogance, while a broad mind leads to a clear self-positioning.
During her youthful ignorance and arrogance, the nicknames and rankings of wizard apprentices, and even the internal conflicts within the sea, were all about the closed and cruel struggles among a group of children. In that special period, because Helen was limited by space and could not fight against five people, she was called "Heavenly King".
Little did they know that the longer a wizard lived, the less likely they were to have an incredibly powerful nickname, and they might even have forgotten their own name over the long years.
All that remained for them was their endless pursuit of truth and knowledge, and so all that people remembered was their sorcerer's tower...
The simpler the truth, the more profound it is, and the fewer people truly understand it.
Because most people are ordinary, drifting with fate, becoming an insignificant part of the gears of history, only knowing the immediate pleasure and benefit, and their basic emotions of pain and pleasure influencing their self-perception and judgment.
This is likely why wizards disdain to truly communicate with their apprentices.
The difference in perspective and cognition between two beings at different levels is simply too great.
That's exactly right...
Dark wizards train wizard apprentices, but because they disdain communication, they simply let them kill each other, thereby selecting some qualified seeds to see if they have the opportunity to grow into a member of a higher level of life.
The enlightened wizard, on the other hand, guides his many wizard apprentices to face difficulties together, grow together, and gradually recognize their own insignificance through mutual support.
A sigh.
Green said, "It seems we need to return to the operations command to report on the mission. We located a total of 145 targets for this mission, and we don't know how many we're on, but the Medal of Honor is probably out of the question."
"Hehe, we've discovered two special locations within the nest world. I wonder if they're any major clues, and whether command will offer any reward."
The myna bird, however, was full of optimism, and happily smacked its lips as it drank the juice through its straw.
After a moment's thought, Green slowly shook his head: "There might be a reward, but it probably won't be a medal of honor. I always felt that the great Black Sota Stigmata Wizard already had a thorough understanding of the intelligence and information about this world."
With another sigh, Green continued, "Who knows what kind of plans those great beings are carrying out?"
The myna bird was extremely unhappy.
"Tch, back when I was carrying out my grand plan, he was probably just a nobody wizard like you..."
