Wizard's Journey

Chapter 322 Recruitment (Part 1)

Four and a half months later.

Having completed the mission of "leading the Ming Wizard Demon Hunter Legion to annihilate the Ice Bat Swarm," Grimm returned to the Space Fortress once again.

Since the start of the Demon Hunter Expedition, a year and a half has passed in the Lair world, but if converted to the twelve hourglasses of the Wizarding World, more than two years have passed.

I wandered around the space fortress a few times, gathering information about the World Nest.

Because of Green's status as a second-class honorary medalist demon hunter, and the influence brought by the Black Tower Saint Mark Wizard's personal mention of him before the demon hunting expedition, no one summoned Green to carry out the demon hunting mission.

Of course, the main reason is the thousand-eyed crab under Green's feet.

After traveling around, Green obtained an extremely important piece of information: the Black Tower Stigmata Wizard had commissioned the fortress to release a message claiming that there were no beings of level four or above in this nest world, meaning there was no world ruler.

This news left Green in disbelief for quite some time.

Generally speaking, the birth of a world ruler is a manifestation of the world's original will. A world cannot have a world ruler. At this moment, Green can only think of four explanations.

Firstly, the world's primordial will is too barren. Whether the primordial will is barren can be confirmed by the number of biological groups and the richness of species within the world.

Without a sufficient number of biological populations to sustain it, a world can only give birth to a ruler by plundering from other worlds.

However, this is clearly not true, judging from the almost countless slaves in the fortress square and the temporary ground base below the fortress.

Secondly, the world's ruler has left this world and is wandering in the endless void, searching for a new world suitable for his own evolution to contend for.

But in that case, the Lord of the World would be taking a great risk.

Rushing to other rich worlds will inevitably provoke a backlash from the local world lord and rejection from the world's will. Without the ability to invade the original will of the wizarding world, a world lord who rashly invades another world may even be killed by a lower-level world lord.

Thirdly, the world's ruler has been killed by creatures from other worlds, who are constantly plundering this world's basic resources and killing high-level creatures, thus preventing the birth of a new world ruler.

This is the current state of the world invaded by the wizarding world, and it is also the key to the wizarding world's ability to support such a huge and incredible number of Stigmata Wizards and True Spirit Wizards.

Fourthly, the witch hunters have not yet discovered the hidden world master in this world.

Since the Black Sota Stigmata Wizard has successfully led the Demon Hunter Vanguard to the core of the lowest level of the World Nest and has not found any intelligent creatures, then Green guesses that the world's ruler may have gone into hiding out of fear.

They've even... run away!

Based on Green's personal wisdom, he thinks the fourth guess is more realistic and likely.

On the Thousand-Eyed Crab, holding a ram's horn-shaped skull, Green is deep in thought.

Should you follow the Blacksor Tower Stigmata Wizard into the cave passage leading to the core of the World's Nest, or find another entrance to the World's Nest and explore on your own?

For many demon hunters and dark wizards, it was only after receiving news that the Black Sota Saint Mark Wizard had successfully occupied the core of the World Nest and announced that there was no World Lord in the Nest World that they began their exploration plans along other routes.

Because no matter how the entrance changes, it will eventually lead to the core of the world's nest.

The myna bird perched on Green's shoulder, looking rather bored, and was intently preening its feathers.

hum...

Suddenly, the medal of honor on the wizard Grimm's cloak flashed.

Green paused for a moment, then, as if he had thought of something, took out the crystal ball.

"Hello, Grin Demon Hunter Wizard. The operations command has detected you near the space fortress. The Black Tower Saint Mark Wizard has issued a new mission, recruiting an unlimited number of Demon Hunter Dark Wizards to explore a branch of the World Nest in the opposite direction from its core. Are you willing to lead the recruitment mission?"

Grimm's eyes gleamed beneath his mask of truth.

So, it turns out that when a Demon Hunter who has received the Medal of Honor is near a space fortress, the combat command can contact them directly?

The Black Tower Stigmata Wizard actually led many Demon Hunter Wizards to explore in the opposite direction from the core of the World's Nest to the surface ice plains.

the other side.

The myna bird on Green's shoulder seemed to be stimulated, snapping out of its boredom and excitedly exclaiming, "Huh? You mean the team leader?"

On the other side of the crystal ball was the combat command center, where a beautiful female witch hunter was located. Her long black hair was tied into many thin braids and flowed smoothly down her back.

In the witch's crystal ball vision, she was communicating with a mysterious dark wizard wearing a gray-white spiral patterned mask when suddenly a large bird swooped down onto the crystal ball's light screen.

After a slight pause, the witch quickly realized that this "big bird" must be the soul companion of this demon hunter dark wizard, and said with a smile, "Yes, but you will need to recruit the dark wizard team yourselves, and the number should be no more than ten."

Green lifted the myna bird off the crystal ball and tossed it back onto his shoulder.

Should we recruit them ourselves?

This reminded Green of his experience of being forcibly conscripted in the world of Shadows of Mystery, where the other party was a witcher wizard with a medal of honor.

I never imagined that I would one day become a captain-level figure who would recruit other demon hunters to carry out missions.

"Hehe, my dear young master Grin, hurry up and accept the mission! What are you waiting for?"

The myna bird seemed even more impatient than Green, constantly urging him on.

Grimm grunted in agreement and said to the witch on the crystal ball screen, "I accept the mission."

The witch in the command center opposite the crystal ball confirmed that Green had accepted the mission. After bowing her head to complete some procedures, she raised her head again and said, "You can now go to the Wizard Tower to collect the mission scroll. Good luck with your mission."

After saying that, the witch in the combat command center closed the connection with Grimm's crystal ball.

"Hehehe, that's wonderful! My dear young master Grin, how about this: from now on, you'll be in charge of commanding the other demon hunter wizards, and I'll be in charge of commanding their slaves..."

The myna bird perched on Green's shoulder, 'whining' as it spoke.

"not good!"

After saying something expressionlessly, Green pointed to the Thousand-Eyed Crab at his feet and said, "Wait here for a moment, I'll be back in a few hourglasses."

"Understood, Lord Green."

The Thousand-Eyed Crab was using its enormous claws to hold the remains of a native creature from its nest world, chewing them slowly and deliberately. It was no longer eating vegetarian food as before.

Green left the Thousand-Eyed Crab and slowly flew towards the fortress below.

The myna bird, seemingly undeterred, continued to plead, "Then how about this, young master, I'll take responsibility..."

"not good."

……

A moment later, inside the low wizard tower in the center of the fortress, Green obtained a parchment quest scroll.

"By opening a nest passage and noting the nest passage information in the fortress's 'World Nest Crystal Drawing Information Orb,' the team leader will receive a reward of ten Witch Essences, and the team members will receive a reward of six Witch Essences."

While pondering the mission information, Green took out a crystal ball.

A long passageway through the world's lair is clearly marked, connecting the entrance to the world's lair on the surface ice plains beneath the space fortress to the core of the world's lair at its deepest level.

the other side.

After Green said "bad" seven or eight times in a row, the myna gritted its teeth, stomped its paw, and actually decided to use its own savings to buy a slave to satisfy its craving!

Green couldn't quite understand the myna's way of thinking, so he simply stopped paying attention to it and let it make a fuss on its own.

Standing on the deck of the fortress square, Grimm stopped a demon hunter dark wizard.

This was a male level one dark wizard with a withered face. Under the questioning gaze of the other party's elemental eyes, Grimm leaned on the ram-horned nightmare magic staff in one hand and took out an unfolded quest scroll in the other.

Green said calmly, "You've been recruited for the fortress demon-hunting mission."

These first-level demon hunters without honor medals are the lowest-ranking demon hunters. Unless they violate the rules of demon hunting, they can only obey demon hunters with higher authority.

The old wizard nodded, having already recognized Green's identity, and silently followed behind him.

After Green recruited seven first-level demon hunter wizards in the fortress square, a demon hunter witch who suddenly returned from afar surprised him.

Its entire body was wrapped in layers of black metal chains, resembling a black metal sphere.

Beneath her long golden hair, her eyes held both cruel madness and despair and confusion.

This witch hunter was none other than Naraku, a top witch apprentice from the same cohort as Grimm, who had participated in the chaotic faction Holy Tower battle between districts 21 to 28 of the Seven Rings Holy Tower.

The two spent their first demon-hunting expedition together in the shadowy, enigmatic world, but didn't have much interaction.
